  • I started out in 1:12 scale, like most of us I would say, but as I have improved my skill as a miniaturist the smaller scales are starting to grab my attention, what about you? Let me know what is your favorite scale.

How it happens that for two years I search for dolls' house sites and just found you in a round-about way? So glad I have done. Subscribed, of course. This is a helpful video and I know I will be binge-watching you now.

Gina this was so helpful. I have tried to understand scale for years by watching others but for some reason I could not absorb the info. This makes perfect sense and learning that a 1/12 scale ruler exist makes it even more logical. I’m buying a 1/12 scale ruler. Thank you for a great video, you made my day.

Hi Lucy, thank you, and you are right everyone has their own way of making sense of scale. I am glad that it helped you and that ruler is the best thing that I have bought 🤩 you won't regret getting one.

Great explanation! 1/4 scale is so tiny! I appreciate you making the different doors to show each scale. Really helps put the size in perspective. They were really cute.

Hi Teresa, great question, one thing I didn't go into was dividing the number to get the scale. For example if you have something that is 36 inches in real life, you can divide that by 12 (in 12 scale) to get the equivalent in dollhouse scale. So 36"/12=3" for yours it would be 36"/18=2" does that help?

There's like one person who does that scale here on UA-cam LoL and sometimes she doesn't give measurements thank you again ❣️

Excellent explanation; should be helpful to many. However, you did repeat one very common error in expression of the terminology. When we are talking 1:24 (or 1:48 or whatever), we must say 1/2-INCH scale, not just 1/2 scale. Very different scales, very big opportunity for confusion. As I said, a very common error.
I am new to UA-cam but not to minis and am making my way through your playlist. So many great projects! And I love seeing Loki! Thanks for all.

Hi - it's called a mitre box and saw - like this one www.amazon.com/35-241-35-550-Aluminum-014-Inch-Cutting/dp/B000BRBZYC/ref=sr_1_3?crid=18IVU5TNBHHGG&keywords=mitre+box+and+saw+miniature&qid=1685337767&sprefix=mitre+box+and+saw+miniatu%2Caps%2C293&sr=8-3

Omg theres no way i can do that math.
I'll stick with the metric system so much easier. Just divide your measurement by the scale you want.
