With all due respect to these comments, and to AMD, this whole AI thing is moving way to fast without enough discussion about any possible negative consequences, IMO. There will be laptops coming out this year with a Microsoft Copilot key built right into their keyboards whether or not people want it, for crying out loud.

Personally I don't want AI in my machine they tried with Cortana and others which do nothing but record you info and break privacy. No1 reason I switch to Linux based OS that respect privacy and work of others.

That is actually part of the point. More demanding applications are going to start using AI acceleration to do things faster than X86 instructions are capable of. Everything is already stupid fast for general computing needs, but it still gets faster every year anyway.

Ai helps with performance even in games but it's still in it's infancy. It's the next step towards performance though since more cores and higher frequency can give you only so much.
Back then when they design satellite cpu, it had a lot of cores. Able to get requested without being saturated.but it's a billion dollars CPU the size of a large pizza.
I could imagine making a GPU or CPU cram over 1000's core with an optimized software that you could run it in multiple core parallel. So it could compute things in an instant. Like rendering graphic, calculation physics. That will greatly reduce of networking super computer. Not to mention low power consumption. That's not a Farfetch but it's hard to do - but it's very possible at this generation.
Multi core in current situation is still not optimized. Current operation system couldn't handle schedule to process thread efficiency and balance. Each core get saturated while other core is left unused. Most programs runs in single thread that being toss to other core but it isn't parallel. That's limitations of the operation system.

I'd beg to differ, at least from the Silicon standpoint. New Chiplet tech, distributed computing platforms are expected to contribute for increases in performance outputs. These hardware companies aren't stuck, they are just hoping to ride the AI wave by making products targetted for AI use and make money out of it, unlike some software companies.

the igpus are similar to gtx 1650 to 1060 level performance iirc so it might be able to get like 50-60 fps on 1080p low
Technically, CP2077 is a 4 year old game now. New computer hardware will eventually be able to run it with ease. Maybe that eventual time is 2024?
Remember, the iGPU has access to DRAM, which is typically a larger memory pool than VRAM on entry level GPUs.

It's disappointing AI is such a big topic.
Because I'm pretty sure all the engineers know that AI-specific acceleration is kind of a scam. Like it doesn't need to be on it's own die, and is mostly driver/microcode development , not so much hardware.
And we really don't need this compute power in AI. The real bottleneck is getting data to train on, and the bandwidth to get that data into a system/computer that trains.
But most customers don't understand that (even in industry) so they can basically buzz-word an entire segment into existence.
And what should atleast make you start believing me, is how quickly they were able to slap NPUs into their processors just several years ago. It required basically no development. AI development used to be accellerated by custom GPU code back when I was in University (just because it was another processor in researchers' computers, and does many parallel processes). I'm not sure why we need little AI chips in everybody's computer. Once an AI is developed, its static. So they want to train the AI... slowly (by a tiny sub-chip)... on your computer. It's dumb at best, and invasive at worst.
Are they going to get below 1nm and how are they going to do it
As they are using ai in the terms of large language models rather than the fact of neural networks

ROCm needs to be implemented in windows, otherwise amd still out of the game.
ROCm works on Windows. It's just that the latest version is a few months behind. So if you are using AI or blender or anything else, ROCm works on Windows because those software also take a few months to implement the new tech.

You don't know the full story, AMD has been a victim of Intel for 1.5 decades starting from 2000s only after 2017, they slowly started to create momentum, if you actually think from historical perspective, AMD has come a long way and this is barely scratching the surface, so 2018 - 2024 I say they did more than some companies do in a lifetime.

There’s not a single thin and light, Intel powered Windows laptop of the last couple of years that wouldn’t have seen real world, usable efficiency improvements by having an AMD chip instead. Except you could rarely get them in most markets. If AMD parts were available on an equal basis as Intel’s, then Team Blue would be headed for the dustbin of history. But they’re not, so instead Team Red’s basic lack of supply is propping up their direct competitor. Go figure. 🤷🏽♂️

Meditation in the Word of God is a visit to God because God is in His Word. We know God through His Word because the Word He speaks represent His heart's desires. Meditation is a thing of the heart, not a thing of the mind. Thinking is lower level while meditation is upper level. You think of your problems, your troubles but inorder to meditate, you must let go of your own will, your own desires, your own ways and let the Word you read prevail over thinking process by thinking of it more and more, until the Word gets into your blood and gains supremacy over you. That is when meditation comes - naturally without forcing yourself, turning the Word over and over in your heart. You can be having a conversation with someone while meditating in your heart - saying 'Thank you, Jesus...' over and over in your heart. But it is hard to meditate when you haven't let go of offence and past hurts. Your pain of the past, leave it for God, don't worry yourself, Jesus is alive, you can face tomorrow, He understands what you are passing through today. Begin to meditate on this prayer day and night (in all that you do), "Lord take more of me and give me more of you. Give me more of your holiness, faithfulness, obedience, self-control, purity, humility, love, goodness, kindness, joy, patience, forgiveness, wisdom, understanding, calmness, perseverance... Make me a channel of shinning light where there is darkness, a channel of pardon where there is injury, a channel of love where there is hatred, a channel of humility where there is pride..." The Word of God becomes a part of us by meditation, not by saying words but spirit prayer (prayer from the heart). Take note, God is Spirit and those who worship Him should do so in spirit and truth (genuinely by living the Word). When the Word becomes a part of you, it will by its very nature influence your conduct and behavior. Your bad habits, you will no longer have the urge to do them. You will think differently, dream differently, act differently and talk differently - if something does not qualify for meditation, it does not qualify for conversation.

Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. 4080 super is only supposed to be 5% that the regular 4080, not very exciting and doesn't really demand a new GPU. All they have to do is a price cut and bam competitive again.@@DXMage
