Big hips/behind or Nyash as West Africans put it, is due to a genetic trait that was caused by our ancestors inhabiting a desolate place that lacked abundant food supplies. Fat stored on the thighs is not invasive as fat stored on the stomach. Women needed to store plenty of fat in order to be able to feed an infant and/or to maintain enough fat supplies to carry a child to term. Men subconsciously gravitate to curvy women as petite or skinny women struggle to remain in optimal fertile levels. Take for example, vegans, they struggle to conceive as their bodies lack enough fat to keep their hormones in a balanced state.
