‪@paulkalkbrenner‬ doesn’t often do remixes, just three since 2018 in fact. 2021 has now delivered two of them, a rarity for a calendar year, and Paul’s second, following his remix of NTO’s Invisible, is a special one, as he remixes Techno Monkey, the famed 2016 release of his wife, Simina Grigoriu.
This is the first time Paul has collaborated publically with his wife, and it kicks off a three volume series of remixes of Simina’s Techno Monkey that will roll out in 2021 on her Kuukou Records label.
Kalkbrenner’s remix embodies the grand techno sound that he has made his own over the last twenty plus years, its seven melodic, emotive and propulsive minutes, offering a unique reinterpretation of Techno Monkey, that keeps the track sounding as fresh today as it did on its release.
Simina Grigoriu - Techno Monkey Remixed Vol. 1 will be released on July 9 via Kuukou Records.

Es war geil. Ich stand damals auf einem der Wagen. Unter dem Strich: Wir waren irgendwie frei. Auch die freundlichen "Helfer" waren uns "zugetan". Die interessierte es damals nicht wirklich, womit viele am Start waren. Warum nicht? Es gab NIE Stunk. Alle konnten irgendwie mit allen. Haha ...Und wir haben einfach immer weiter getanzt. Und gelacht. Über uns selbst und die Welt. Ob wir drauf waren oder nicht. Wie gesagt: Jeder konnte mit jedem. Obwohl da einige mächtig schräge Typen am Start waren. Stichwort z.B.: Gabber-Zombies. ;) Aber vor allem: Jeder war im JETZT... no Smartphones. Würde gerne mal ne Revival-Party starten hier in HH. Handys müssen am Eingang abgegeben werden. Und dann die ganzen alten Acid-House-Geschichten aus den 90ern....Should fly. Was meint ihr?
