$37 right now for MG expansion. Yes, MC players, I’m late to the game, but I’m still winning!!! At a glance, Shadowcat has the very powerful ability to snub a guard and duck patrol to avoid a crisis. Awesome! What’re your thoughts on true Solo play with these two X-Men? Nelson, would you recommend NOT starting with Sabertooth? At least for a new player? We’re all new to expansions we haven’t played. As of now I’m a stand-alone player, not into the structured campaigns as of now. I may add Wolverine’s hp to the order. Maybe.
My buddy and I lived the dream with cyclopes by pairing him with war machine and using Shoulder Cannon with Exploit Weakness on a 12 ammo war machine to pump out meme damage
Man for me magneto is the perfect balance for an endboss. Hes not too tough or just easy. Hes interesting and very thematic with his cards and activations! I really enjoyed this box aside from like sabertooths healing! Heres hoping for a jubilee hero pack Q.Q
I’m slowly plowing through unpacking and sleeving. As a result I haven’t gotten everyone to the table yet. So, for now, I’ll withhold opinions of the XMen other than to say the pre-cons feel like driving a car with wooden wheels. Par for the course. I do appreciate the rundown of the scenarios. Something to look forward to once I settle on some builds.
hi! I'm very hyped about X-Men in this game, specially with Wolverine and Storm..and I'm very interested in discover how they manage to build a strong Rogue hero pack
MG box arrives tomorrow. Nelson and other followers/fans, please chime-in regarding my earlier comment. Wolverine’s hero pack arrives today, so I’m building up my X-men cards for deck builds I have: Angel (force) X-23 (force) Wolverine Shadowcat Colossus
The whole role thing and role building I don't get. So I can mix aspects or I still can only use 1 aspect? The role building just means I can put upgrades into the deck that don't count towards my deck limit and can be any aspect in my role?
Yep! So you choose and aspect and role. Then before each game you can include one event and one upgrade from your roles associated aspects. These do not need to be your chosen aspect
@@NelsonAllOverCards so the roles have nothing to do with your default aspect. I can run a leadership deck and have the brawler role and that just means I can add aggression and protection upgrades
I finished my first playthrough of the campaign yesterday. I went for Phoenix/Protection + Defender (picked Clear the Area and Under Surveillance). The campaign was a bit tough, the differents scenarios would easily drown me under too much minion Hp for me to manage. The Future Past encounter set is really hard to manage when a card shows up. The Mystique encounter set made me rage so hard sometimes xD I liked the Magneto scenario but at the end I had a Dark Phoenix with 21 HP + Tough that randomly showed up...
@@NelsonAllOverCards Ho no my bad, it was during the 4th scenario. I got Nano-Sentinel Tech (from Future Past encounter set) that calles Dark Phoenix giving her +4 HP and right after that I got Homo superior (from Brotherhood encounter set) that gives her +5 HP and Tough T T But fortunately I managed to kill the last Vilain on the next turn and not have to deal with that pumped up minion ^^'
Great review. Shadowcat is my fav hero at the moment and Magneto is my fav scenario. I am enjoying the x-men release the most overall compared to other themed releases and I am super excited for what is to come next.
I think this box is probably a bit harder than RORS for true solo. That being said I think the two heroes in the Mutant Genesis box are better for solo play than RORS. Either way you would be fine! If there is a theme you like more I'd go with that one!
I've been enjoying what little I've had time to play lately, but kinda disappointed with cyclops that gonna stop the campaign and go with someone else. Maybe Phoenix, not sure. I'm a huge huge cyclops fan, but I don't like the current pool of cards for him, I'm not generally a person who likes to stay in AE half the game or most of the game, so I'm really hoping with the coming expansions, especially storms, we get some good leadership cards that I can go crazy in hero. I also have returned to the game in the last few months (stopped playing after red skull came out due to real life occurances). So my deck building skills may not be once they once were. Lol
I hope they start treating the game with more depth to its campaigns. We seen it in Arkham Horror, and even LotR so it is possible. The missions are getting smarter, but are feeling samey, AH is able to give much more enjoyed game play in the map and leveling, but this still falls flat. This is great expansion, prefer Sinister for the progression path, but this was good, just hope they do more.
I'd have to disagree with you on Magneto not feeling impossible. Lore-wise, they're spot on. But as a play experience, he just felt too impossible with stats that are too high for the combination of steady, magnet counters (which resolve the very moment the counters reach 3) and Acolyte minions that do teamwork crap. And that campaign specific side scheme in addition...good God. The only way I've beat Magneto so far has been playing Captain America with leadership or Doctor Strange with protection...both outside of the campaign. In the campaign, I've yet to beat him, and I've played 20+ games. That campaign specific side scheme is just so damn brutal: hazard icon, or give Magneto a permanent+1/+1. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't.
X-Men are here!! What are some things you like and maybe some things you don’t about all this new content?

Yes totally agree! They really nailed him as a final villain! Keeping my fingers crossed!
I hadn't heard much about the campaign roles that mix the deckbuilding. Can't wait to get this and play Project Wide Awake.
Its such an awesome scenario! Hope you enjoy!

Yea, the pre cons were not the best in this release, but some really cool cards for building!

We need to sort all the Champions UA-camrs into houses. I'm of course, a fellow Ravenclaw!
Go team!
