Jazz is alive and well.
Fucking love this song. The drum line is so intoxicating
Géniale idée ces patterns ciselés de batterie sur ce groove Shuffle derrière. Brillantissime mélopée finale. Du travail d'orfèvre.
People like Christian Scott and Kamasi Washington need to be around - jazz just can't die! The fact that they've achieved any sort of popular breakthrough is amazing.
Elena, helps take them to another stratosphere!,
Miles would have liked listening to that
That flute though.
Elena's solo is pure bliss
That was so beautiful Elena! Just in the bus in the sunny autumn morning and got this in my headphones... Thank you
3:30 to 3:50 is just perfection.
Album in my collection, thanks for vid.
I heard it today on Czech Radio Jazz - wonderful thing!
this is music............. Great stuff
how the hell did I get here??? this is awesome!!!!!
I listened this song many times during last May. It was the last month of a year long university exchange in Paris. A month full of strange and surrealist situations, nights in the deserted magic streets of that wonderful city, goodbyes and melancholic thoughts, and brief and intense encounters before heading home again. Now that I revisit the song, it feels very powerful and emotional and encapsulates everything I lived that time...
Elena Pinderhughes is a fucking amazing flutist.
This is sublime!
First chords remind The Persuaders theme song ... Elena's harmonic change is fabulous!
Truly Amazing!! 🎶💜
There are no words to describe the journey I travel while listening to this song...
Jungle Drums & fantastic solo of jazzFlute , Amazing ELENA ! 👍😍✌️
I'm hearing this tune for the very first time and I got to say it's The Musical equivalent of Chocolate Cake !!
Great now I'm gonna think about chocolate cake every time I listen to this. DAMN YOU PAVLOV!!
Shout out to Common's npr performance comment section for bringing me here!

it was all ok until the drums came in, I got like "oh shit"
Damn, Christian Scott's tone can keep jazz alive all by itself. It's musicianship like this that inspired me to sit down at a piano and start learning jazz myself. If you have a moment, please have a little listen and let me know what you think: ua-cam.com/video/AQQGYw6qpHw/v-deo.html
I wish I can get taught how to play the instrument he's playing ... 😔
That's a trumpet, right?
+Xtra Jay buy a cheap trumpet, google "how to play the trumpet", practise till your butt hurts.
repeat last step.
I think he means until your lips hurt
but don't stop there! as a trumpet player i know...trust me
It sure is easy on the ears, and the flutist more than holds her own, but the sampled drums get old pretty soon, IMHO.
+Lavitaoperosa i feel that its two percussionists ,
+Lavitaoperosa Its not sampled
+Lavitaoperosa Triggered perhaps, but not sampled.
Its just one drummer.........no sampling lol
Two drummers, plus a percussionist. Kris Funn, Corey Fonville and Joe Dyson Jr.
This is rubbish...Beijing don't have sunrises..its too polluted atmosphere
haha. maybe that is the reason that its not really a happy go lucky song.
