Sedimentary agates are awesome! There are agatized fossil stromatolite reef structures near where I live in the USA. There are places where you can walk bedrock that's filled with lace agate structures! The sedimentary agates aren't as popular but they are definitely my favorites. The fossil connection is fascinating!
Hej Josh, I was going to ask you if you could explain where the line is between (banded) flint and agate. But then I watched this video a second time, and now I think you more or less answered this question yet😅 I've tried to find an answer to this question for a while now, and I'm beginning to think that there may be no answer. I've been rockhounding my whole life and collected lots of pretty silica rocks that were formed this way, but I only have one I confidentially call an agate. All the other ones I call vuursteen (feuerstein), to be safe😅 If you can tell me a little bit more about that, gerne. Otherwise, I probably should accept that there is no answer😂 Thanks again for your beautiful videos!
Maybe I have to refrase this question: Is a low grade agate the same thing as a high quality feuerstein? Or am I totally confused, and does my question make no sense at all? Rocks are just a hobby for me, and most of my 'rock knowledge' comes from UA-cam😅 I 'm Dutch, so I 'm comfortable with a brutally honest answer😊
