This is one of the best and most unique footy songs I’ve ever heard. Even opposition fans would be up and about for this. The players singing this in the change rooms would be the cherry on top. Someone should modernise this masterpiece and bring it back.
I know it's a bit eighties but this song just has so much more excitement than the Carlton crap they have now. Hearing this song blast through the speakers after a win would pump me up so much more than some weird, slow fake horns and an uninspiring ripped off tune. BRING THIS SONG BACK!
Hey Nate, if this Man United flog comments on any of your videos on any of your two channels, especially your main channel, report the account and the comment so we can give this flog the boot as he’s made like 5 new accounts recently.
@@nate_37 yeah same. He is a muppet that honestly has nothing better to do. He is so scared and insecure because he knows that deep down, Aussie Rules is the greatest of all sports and is a game played by modern gladiators and not a bunch of men with vaginas that he is probably used to.
@@zaco21_ this old classic could easily be re-recorded to sound more modern’ history and nostalgia are important in a 140+ year old footy league like the SANFL.
@aj j dude who gives a fuckin shit what you think. You should be more concerned with your debt-addled shit-box of a club being dismantled by Liverpool overnight, you absolute flop.

Legend. And the former versions of the songs of the SANFL clubs (except Woodville unfortunately 😞) can all be found at the start of the 1983 and 1984 season highlights For Sturt and Port Adelaide, do the 1983 versions
I'm not sure if this is correct, but this is what I think it might be "Fly the blue and white flag high, Proud to be wearing South's banner, We're Panthers and we'll do or we'll die, We're everything that we all hear, Cheer the mighty Panther roar, Shout 'til the rafters ring, The mighty blue and white forever, Let each and everyone hear sing!" (Tune unknown)
@@trainco1643 The tune itself (much like Sydney Swans) was originally used as a US college song. This time being from the University of Maine and being known as the "Stein Song". To date it is the only fight song in US history to go number and oddly enough, was a drinking song released during American prohibition, when all drinking was banned.
@@trainco1643 The second line always confuses me. "Proud as we bear South's banner" maybe? Also I'm pretty sure the fourth line is "for everything that we hold dear"
@@nate_37 you might be right actually. The fourth line might be correct, to me it now sounds like “We’re everything that we hold dear” but the second line to me has always sounded like “Proud to be wearing South’s banner.” Maybe it could be “bearing” instead of “wearing” in the second line 🤔
One of the best club songs I've heard. Sadly you haven't won a premiership in so long you all forgot it. So you bastardized the Carlton song. I don't know if that just show's a lack of imagination or is just embarrassing.

I total agree - whenever I go to a panther’s match and see the team win I would honestly love to hear this be blasted 🐆

Should just get him banned for following united hahaha 😂🤣😂🤣😅
Can we all petition south to bring this song back???
#BringItBack #SouthProud
Amazing song, my dad has this on vinyl, he always used to play it for me when I was a kid
Why did we ever change this? As much as I love Carlton, we are not Carlton.
Freedom Of 76 it’s because it wasn’t very modern and so changed it to Carltons Song which I don’t mind but I like this song too as a gen Z

bring it back
Please bring this song back SAFC
I'm pretty sure south had another song in the late 90s before they changed to the Carlton song I did have it on cassette tape as a kid
can't remember hearing this
Do Hope Valley. They use Melbourne song.
There’s another old South Adelaide Panthers song that can be found to the intro to the 1983 South Adelaide season
Hey Trainco, I will be uploading that version tonight!

Trainco16 Isn’t the Woodville song on the safootballarchive Season Highlights just a promotional song for Seven?
@@voltfooty yes it is. It's not actually Woodville's club song sadly :(
Trainco16 I’ve found a small snippet of the team singing the song in their last match, but that’s really the best i’ve found.
Some SANFL teams need to bring back their old theme songs instead of just stealing each other's and the AFL's (Except for Port and Westies)
Yeah
GO BLUES (Carlton)
gun song !
This song might be brought back if Stephen Hagan has his way.
Anyone have the lyrics?
