I know a lot of people have been gunning for the choice of making it with musical components... but hear me out ~ what if after we see it, we can't imagine the story NOT having been a musical? I mean, they pulled off some impossible stuff with the last one. ALSO ~ I've been watching a lot of reactions to this trailer and you are NOT the only dude to shed a tear ☺for some reason it's been really getting to the guys
One thing people aren’t catching in the reactions is the significance of the umbrellas. The guards all have black umbrellas, then the camera pans over the top and it’s the jokers colors as if the Joker sees it that way when he is looking up into the rain.
This was the same reaction I had when I saw this trailer for the first time, I loved the first film. It brought me back to how I felt with the first film and it just hyped me up so much more than I already was for it.

I did cry when i first watched this tbh,very very heavy trailer about the story of this troubled man,it’s a very serious role again and i am sure he will nail it again.With that being said….Gaga is the one perfect choice for Harley,its time pople recognise her talent on the screen,i am sure she will be brilliant
I’ll probably watch it because the first hit a billion and I was like what is so great about this movie the whole storyline of Bruce joker Thomas and Alfred really made that first movie for me and this says Arkham hotel so we might see Harley Quinn shoot bat girl and we may see joker kill the red hood robin I want to see if they add that stuff
It definitely gave me the impression that she was a patient. E word is Ego. Will we see the Joker cast away his ego and see his real self? I think he lives in all the layers of reality, all at once. That's who he really is, and that's why he doesn't "fit in" in this world. He perceives outside of this density layer we're in. Layers, indeed! Is there peace for Joker? No. I don't believe so, but we'll be along for the journey. It's going to be bittersweet. 🫂

I had a nervous breakdown where I literally had uncontrollable crying for a year- literally everyday. I was lucky I guess cuz I got my depression OUT- but either way one of the things I was instructed to do was to surround my self with Comedy and Music- things that brought me joy.. anything with darkness or drama was OUT (I had too much in my own life that I certainly didn’t need anymore examples) Needless to say it helped ENORMOUSLY- it wasn’t the only thing that did btw.. but the HEALING of deep wounds wouldn’t have occurred without it. The imagery of Fleck having those “lounge act” moments, the spotlight, the cigarettes. I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED how she drew the smile on the glass, he moved to it and held there for a second or two before smiling. We get a sweet moment, all of our “ahhh cool” “sweet” “horrific” comments out of the way, then he hits with a smile that tracks perfectly. Day one! Next teaser I’m looking forward to is Michael. This maybe my one and only time here, I think the Michael teaser will rupture my aorta when that drops. I barely made it out of the bottle when he died, that movie will end me

I'm still curious if anyone else sees the existential bookending in the trailer. Because that opening scene of Arthur looked less like a cell window and more an old school studio camera lens. As if the part being played is Arthur, and his true self is the Joker, as implied at the end.
The first film was finding himself this one will be the romance and I feel like he may end up losing Harley by the end and a third film being his downfall into complete rage filled insanity. Beautiful trailer. I feel the passion through the screen same as yourself. It also clicked with me as to why it makes sense that it’s a musical. Was disappointed at the initial news but now I couldn’t be more excited, it’s perfect.
