I learned early in my 30's how forgiveness works. Two friends backstabbed and I hurt awfully. But God bugged me to forgive. I finally forgave them and realized how God can forgive us and still not forget our sin. When I forgave, God came so close I could not believe it. I felt like I walking 3 ft. in the air. I forgave them, but did not forget what they did. But, all the pain left me and I could still be friendly to them. What happened when I forgave them, is that God took all the pain from me and left me able to love them. That is what He does for us. He forgets the pain we caused Him and still loves us.

Grace and forgiveness is not easy when other people's actions have contributed to a whole negative life changing situation. But even that forgiveness is expected of us in the Christ-following family. Yes, when i deceided to forgive people that really hurt me, i became so happy and peaceful inside of me. I was the one who received grace!
