I watched this vid before my AP Bio exam in high school, and 2 years later im watching it again for my college biology class😂 THANK YOU HANK AND YALL GOT THIS!!!
These videos are the only reason I actually understand Biology
Isha Perry hahah same
same
I remember the different phases like this:
Prophase: Pro- 1- first phase
Metaphase- M, Meet, where they meet in the middle
Anaphase- A, Apart, where they're pulled apart
Telophase- T, Terminal, the final stage
Thanks that helps a lot xx
No worries xx
Amani Rashid of just think PMAT
Amani Rashid nice one. 😎😎
thank you ;o; look at you, helping people from the future
I got a History exam on the 27th and a bio exam on 28th. Gonna binge watch crash course.
That is exactly why I'm here.

Ahem...
...yea, you're right. Good luck
***** ...holy... Good luck. Ouch. I'm glad I'm not you. Hope you ace at least three of them.

Caitlin Quick I like to eat and watch this guys videos man. I also feel that it helps to watch these videos and then read the chapter because it helps in visualizing what is happening. I like looking at pictures, but they will never be like a good video. Biology is tough man a lot of people I know dropped the class, damn pansies you gotta keep your head up and learn.
David Ortiz Agreed. All the memorisation sucks, but it's worth it in the end.
Easy way to remember Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase.
Please (P) Make (M) Another (A) Twin (T)

i usually just call it IPMAT , but that's a really good acronym
I just think of someone peeing on a mat... Pee MAT. shortened to PMAT... just me?
who's watching this during quarrine 2020 because of Covid-19???
Me. It's spelled quarantine.

No, I'm in quarantine because of the spanish flu..

Lol, the land of men (as in humans) is like really dangerous and wild. But it's a test... nevermind. moments gone :P

Stfu Trash Can the Hank brothers cannot be matched by any other.
Reale Pineapple do you even English???
UA-cam gives me more than my actual teachers tho...LOL =>
i think we are all forgetting......Paul 'Bozeman Science' Andersen......He could give the green brothers a run for their money
I've stopped watching my normal assigned videos and started just watching relevant Crash Course episodes. Go Hank!
Shoutout to all the kids who are just studying without a test coming up
I love looking at the comments and reading all these ppl who are like "thank you I almost failed my test if it weren't for you" and I am like "look at these idiots who need UA-cam to study" then remember why I came to the video in the first place...
Jake Gagnon you're an idiot
😂😂😂😂 I felt the same way
RIGHT?
When james charles stubs his toe "Mitosis!"
Lmaooo
your comment is so underrated lmao
Now I can't stop hearing "my toe sis" everytime someone says mitosis.
solid comment 8/10
I hate you
I'm not procrastinating as much as everyone else here ...I actually have *two* days before my exam ;)
i have 4 !!
I have 3 months xD
Hank is 1. A good actor 2. Has the benefit of cuts 3. Has no bored or disruptive audience, meaning he has no major distractions from his energy or focus 4. Is (apparently) using a teleprompter (he is looking slightly above the camera) 5. Has perfectly integrated images and videos to keep interest. 6. Has a snappy soundtrack and sound effects. 7. Is able to use a carefully written script with perfectly polished delivery (because 1, 2, 3, and 4).
These are all advantages your ordinary teacher probably lacks. So please, enough "Hank is better than my actual biology teacher!" Hank is something totally other than your teacher, he is a professional presenter with a team. It's kind of like saying "Tom Holland is more charismatic than my actual high school friends." Well yes. Yes he is. But also. . .movie magic / cinema skills. If your teacher had a professional video team and coaching, they may or may not achieve similar results- it is a totally different genre.
None of this is to suggest anything bad about Hank or crash course. It is an amazing product done with high values, a passion for teaching and a very strong work ethic.
Yes, what you describe are the attributes of any good teacher who spends appropriate time in preparation.
Love that, especially the Tom Holland comparison. Hank is not a high school teacher - that's why he's able to fill in the gaps so effectively.
HE IS NOT THE HERO WE NEED BUT TRULY ONE WE REQUIRED
who else has a bio final tommorow
✋
+Sofieethedork o. I had a bio final two months ago, I passed with the help of crash course
+Sofieethedork o. I have one in 2 days T_T
Ariya Ziauddin ahaha good luck man, i had mine last week, think about it, everyone sits the same exam, if shit comes up on it you havnt really heard or studied much of, dont worry thatll be the majority and so the bell curve will help you out:) Think about it, if you study most of the course quite well and you only answer 80% of the questions (mark wise) you have a higher potential to get around 90% of that 80% which equates to a low A or B+, especially in bio where the average mark is around 55% or some shit, so make sure you know the major concepts really well and in the exam dont get scared if theres a 1 marker you cant answer and you can see everyone else can!!! make sure you hit the 4,6,8 markers easily mate and youll be fine!!!
Me :(
You have just explained what my professor couldn't in 3 weeks, in 10 minutes concisely. Thank you.
I needed Hank Green to explain Mitosis. My life is complete now.
i always come here before for my test. I learn more in ten minutes then i do in two weeks with my school teacher.
Virginsuicde sadly true lol
2 hour lecture explained in 10 minutes. Awesome!!
i can tell that was a waste of a good 2 hours, right?
like, you could have spent that much time SLEEPING!!
On behalf of Science teachers everywhere, Thank You! I have literally seen the "light bulb" moments in several students because of your videos. Our text books are no where near as up to date as these videos. Love my co- teacher Hank Green;)
Omg. A miracle just happened. I understood half the unit in 10 min 😭😭😭
EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS SHUT UP, your jokes are distracting me 😂
1:20 slow it down to 0.5 and he sounds drunk LMAO
Sounds like the drunk guy at the bar trying to give you relationship advice! hahaha! This is so legit!

Who wants him to be your science teacher?
Oh!Yeah!I literally love Hank!

He sort of is XD
@@Gealamusic me
i mean me
I'm watching this not because I have a bio test, but because I'm a senior in high school who is stuck in quarantine and can't learn properly without a teacher explaining things to me
who else had to watch this for school since we're in quarantine?
You guys haven't felt irritation and embarrassment until you've been in a massive biology class and the teacher keeps talking about you and your twin. Not a surprise that I didn't fucking learn anything.
Trevor Spencer Victim complexes are embarrassing.
rob stark umm wow that was unbelievably rude.
you explain this better than my teacher does and she has degree in biology. you dont understand how much me and many other viewers appreciate this channel!! we love you hank!!!!
This guy literally knows everything, every field of learning, i find him
its actually two different people, his brother covers English and History :)

i would like to personally thank this episode for saving my grade
Who in their tests just remembers this dude pointing at you going : liver failure , MITOSIS!
lol
The only reason I’m here is bc of my online assignments due to the corona virus :/
Me three
Hank is the reason why students pass their classes.
Ur fat
10 million billion = ten quadrillion. 10 thousand billion = 10 trillion. Since, you know, this is clearly the most important part of the video.
IPMAT
Interphase: copy’s
Prophase: nucleus membrane disappearing
Metaphase: copy’s line up in the middle cell
Anaphase: copy’s are pulled apart to different sides
Telophase: new membrane forms around the chromosome
Cytokinesis: they divide into daughter cells
I hope this simplified every thing and helped you, let me know if 8t did :D
The real evolution is me having watched this exact video in seventh grade and now watching it as a sophomore in college... life moves fast and biology is still complicated :0
you legend this taught me quicker than my teacher lmao
Annabel Condon omfgg sameees
Watching this because I have a quiz tomorrow D:
I have a final tomorrow
What did one daughter cell say to the other daughter cell when she stepped on her foot?
'Mitosis!'
I regret nothing.

I would like to thank you on the behalf of us that struggle with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. These videos make the hours of lectures that seem mind boggling to us, so much easier to understand. The way the information is broken down in the simplest form is honestly a life saver and an amazing resource. THANK YOU
Craming rn, got a bio test in 32 minutes
Omg ! I have a Bio Honors exam tomorrow & I am literally going to watch this over and over again. You explain it 1000x better than my teacher. Thank you !
Lol my identical twin and I are watching this because we are studying for our AP bio exam, Shout out to You HANK!
I am so grateful for every video from Crash Course. You guys have helped me through so many classes!
Saw this months back for my unit test and here I am again, for my finals. These videos are honestly such a blessing. ❤
Where is the "my toe sis" joke has no one commented yet please I need to hear it
+Eren Mortel What did the cell say to his sister when she stepped on his toe?
Ow, that was my toe sis!
+Eren Mortel where"s my toe sis?
This video just saved my life, because I have a biology exam tomorrow and my teacher didn't really teach this. THANK YOU.
I slept through both semesters of bio, so thanks for saving me as usual, Hank.
This is so helpful when studying for lab practicals. Thank you, crash course!

Hank, I could listen to you all day long- love what you're doing! Thank you!
the only one who's videos actually useful, short, and makes lots of sense ! thank you
So does anyone else constantly pause this video over and over again to slow down his rate of speech to understand all of this information ?
Hank, you just saved my sorry ass from failing the second most important exam of the year. God bless you
These are honestly super high quality videos, they almost make this stuff interesting. Super helpful for studying tbh.
I love you, crash course.
You have taught me more than all my professors.
Just discovered this channel and it basically saved me and my entire biology class as well. Thank you!!
With such limited times to study for finals, these crash courses are life savers! Thank you so much 😊
Crash course helps me out so much. I am BEYOND thankful that this is a thing...
Thank you! You made biology make sense and have been getting 80's on my bio exams 😍
med school exam on tuesday. yes they still test over this.
YOU HELPED ME PASS MY MIDTERMS and teach me everything that my teacher didn't thank youuuuuu so so so much. You're awesome.
Has this guy received any kind of award for the videos he makes in UA-cam? He’s super smart and is a great communicator.
You guys are the best! Thank you for helping me through my second take at college - prereqs for nursing school and prep for my entrance exam!!! Your videos are amazing and I couldn't have gotten A's in my classes without them.
Also, just FYI, the anaphase section actually starts at 8:47 :)
I wish that the Interphase portion of this video was more detailed. Where is the G1 phase, S phase, G2 phase?
I don't think you replied in time...
Either way, yes. G1, S, and G2 are not part of mitosis. It's all under the cell cycle which within itself mitosis is a part of. They're a part of the cellular cycle *alongside* mitosis.
I see a lot of comments about how this video is better than their teacher etc. I'm lucky to have a good bio teacher and Crash Course to help me ;)
Just incredible. Im glad I found this video. I plan on showing it to my students Tuesday.
Thank you for explaining this so well! 5.5 hours of bio lecture this week < 30 min spent watching your videos
It has now become a life goal of mine to have Hank do a biolography about me.
I discovered your UA-cam videos last semester, while taking Human Anatomy and Physiology I, & I've been watching you, for EVERY unit we cover, ever since! I've even introduced your site to my study group, & we all LOVE how you break this down for us!!! Thanks for making learning FUN, & interesting, so that the info actually sticks in your head! =)
Thank you CrashCourse, I really appreciate what you do. It is very, very, very, helpful. Thanks once again.
