BSB Cruise 2011: Backstreet Boys Shave my Head

- I was undergoing chemo during my BSB Cruise and was not going to let anything stop me from being on that ship! When my hair started falling out the day of the cruise I approached Brian and Howie and asked if they would be willing to shave my hair. This is what happened :)

Seriously. The best boy band ever. I don't care how many are popping up, but you can't find any other band and there will never be another band like the Backstreet Boys!
Thanks so much for all the amazing comments! It was such a touching moment for me, it definitely made me losing my hair a happier memory than just watching it fall out by the handful! The boys were so amazing and kind to me throughout it all. I'll never forget what they were able to do for me.

How are you feeling today in 2023? I remember watching this video when Nick, Howie, AJ and Brian shaved your head and I thought it was so sweet of them and made me fall in love with them even more.❤

You know what is beautiful about this?
1. Simply the fact that you wanted some moment with BSB (as all fans do) and you actually got it. LOTS of kudos to you for sharing, what I'm sure is, a vulnerable and difficult circumstance and for turning it into something worth remembering.
2. The fact that they went along with shaving your head shows how down to earth they really are. Any artist could say no because it's not what they planned. But, they took time out to make you smile (I hope lol).

This video is amazing.. The boys does love/care about their fans.. I mean look how they're talking to her, and taking care of how they're shaving her head.. anyways I pray that she beat cancers ass.. :D
i just watched a video of them talking about doing this for her. the video was in may 2018)and they said she beat cancer but and is married now is so wonderful

They also are so gentle toward her and so sweet. I'm still crying as I type this. It's amazing, you know. Most celebrities and musicians wouldn't do something like this with their fans. Some of them are so selfish, overhyped, and conceited. But then, there are some like BSB who truelly appreciate their fans. :,)
Brian is very talented, he is being soo gentle, the other three are amazing too.

So... I was going through my BSB obsession yesterday and searched for random videos... and I came across this and I teared up... Then I looked at your username and realized you had commented on one of my videos from Nick's soundcheck! I love that the boys did this for you and I really hope you are doing better. I'm a nurse and worked with several cancer patients... and what I've come to learn is that you guys are the strongest and bravest of all patients and people in general!! God Bless U!
this seriously brought tears to my eyes when i watched this video. i've had an aunt that is a cancer survivor so i know what she's going through, maybe not personally but from being around people that had/have cancer. keep your chin up girl, you will get through this battle. great job to the Boys with shaving your head.

Wow,how awesome is that. On two levels,what a way to stare down a disease. Not only are you going to choose not to cower in your daily life by going to the cruise but then you choose to shave your head and wear it with pride.What strength! My grandmother recenly went through the same thing for the third time.And I commend them for doing this. That's great!
I've already known they were nice from seeing how they interact with their fans from watching their appearances on Oprah, TRL and GMA. But this one does it for me and one of my favorite sweet BSB moments. God bless them for being so open and caring with you. Hope you're doing extremely well. God bless you. This was such a beautiful video! It was amazing to watch the emotions that everyone was going through as this was happening... the way that Nick kept joking but then when he didn't have the microphone he took the time to really listen to you.... just so sweet. All the best.

I remember it perfectly... it was a very emotional moment, everybody was so respectful... lovely! (I also admit I almost cried)... thank you for teaching us to fight in life! :)
This has got to be one of the most touching videos I've ever seen. I'm crying so hard right now and I didn't think I would. These guys are the same guys that have sold 130+ million records worldwide and is one of the most popular bands ever and here they are cutting the hair off of a once cancer-stricken fan of theirs.
Still get teary eyed whenever I see this vid. I still can't get over how sweet and precious the Boys are. :,-)
I was diagnosed with uterine cancer last year stage 1had to have a radical hysterectomy .I'm in stage 2 just had radiation therapy treatment .I also changed my diet , and started getting active .Also having a positive mind set , and not getting depressed .Also keep praying to God for help , and strength .The radiation doctor said there is no sign of the cancer , and it did not spread .He also said it doesn't look like I had , or have cancer ....I want to see to anyone battling cancer to don't give up , and keep fighting .
This made me cry and smile all at the same time! It's so much, the love that I hold for these guys. God Bless you, you're going to be just alright.

girl, i was there for this! there was not a dry eye on the whole ship during this. I bawled my eyes out. I hope you are doing well! I am so glad you posted this because its just another reminder of why i love those men so much. much love to you!

I was crying so hard as I was watching this even though i couldnt see much from the other side of the boat..crying even morre now.. i have a disability and live from a wheelchair daily.. the boys are so supportive through everything everytime i see them..glad to see they were able to do this for you..so sweet..hope you are doing well now and everything is going well.. OMG. These are the same guys whose songs like "Everybody(Backstreet's Back)", "I Want It That Way" and "Larger Than Life" dominated the charts, and they are still swooned by many. And here in this video, they take their time off to do something noble to a fan who was sick.
Stay Strong and I think you're a really brave person. The guys definitely did a great job making you look even more beautiful.

Reading more of the comments, I'm glad that your cancer is remission thank God. I pray that you continue to heal and live a happy, healthy life. :-) I'm glad that the guys were so nice and sweet to you. I reiterate that it was so noble of them to remove your hair for chemo. They didn't seek bother by it at all and were so gracious.
I hope things are going good for you in your treatment. I cut my hair almost 10 years ago when my friends 5 year old was having to start chemo. I then allowed him to actually fully shave it when his had to be done. To this day I have never allowed it to grow back out in his memory.

They seem truelly grateful for their fans and the love shown toward them. They know that if hadn't been for them, they wouldn't have made it this far and continuing on to do so. Again, most celebrities are ungrateful and don't see that their fans are the reason for their successes.

These are the same guys who've sold out concerts, has a strong career, are very wealthy due to their success, are extremely attractive, and absolutely talented. And here they not only help remove their fan's hair for her chemotherapy, but also talk to and seemingly listen to her closely about her situation. :,)
