    Wow, this thing looks so scale! and perfectly matched with that trailer! I find so funny that no matter how ecclectic your RC collection can be, you somehow always make them seem from the same universe when I see them together in your videos. Kudos!

      Man that's a deep one, I had to think on it for a bit, about how much was intentional aesthetic and how much was just chance rolled into personal preference etc. Thank you kindly.

      @@RCTNT hahaha, well you can always help justify a new purchase by saying that to yourself "oh, this would match so we'll with this rig or that construction RC..." At least that is also a great way to make it relatable to complaining other-halves!😁👌🏻

      Lol, thankfully that is not an issue here. We're both just doing our thing. But buying rc models "for the media business" is now a legit thing. It might take a while for them to pay for themselves but we'll get there eventually!

    great build these HC6 rigs are amazing rigs. I like your logging set up also. I am building a logging trailer myself with one of the cross trailers I already have to be pulled by a few different trucks of mine. My Hc6 I had converted into a hydraulic dump truck

      Ah, nice! I've considered doing that too! But am leaning towards a bush fire rig. Have a few small pumps here I'm testing. I bet your tipper will come out well though. Loving how much choice there is now with hydraulic systems!

    Looks amazing. Reminds me of the m6 lorry Norwegian military used before. My friends father bought 2 of the real ones when the army stopped using them. Edit: It's was actually the same truck. Their just called m621 in Norway. Everyone just called them m6 in the military.

    I love all the mudrunner-esque stuff, and love mudcrawling... But I gotta know if it's a done thing in RC to try and make them run silent? Helical gears and heavy gear oil, gear shimming etc?

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT 5 місяців тому +1

      Silent is preferable, but with metal pinion and spur gears, it's not gonna happen. And this cross rc gearbox is notoriously loud. Though as nails though!

      @@RCTNT it's interesting to see differences between hobbies which use motors and gearboxes. I spend a lot of time suppressing the sound of my airsoft gearboxes - I wonder what I can do with RC stuff...
      Good to know they're tough though, I bought a super cheapie locked axle 4x4 for my boy a while ago, and the rear axle failed. Sadly it was the gear mounts rather than the gears themselves. With just a tiny bit more material added, they'd have been decently strong!

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT 5 місяців тому +1

      @doodlepugg glad to hear it. I've tried silencing this gearbox in another rig (I have a few of them) and it helps maybe 10%. Grease packed, o-rings and car audio sound deadening tar strips on the exterior. Rubber mounted to chassis. Still really loud! Meh.

      @@RCTNT hahaha! You're an awesome font of knowledge, and very gracious to consistently reply to my waffle 😂 I'm yet to tear apart a gearbox (I'll save that for when I get a model I'm properly obsessed with) then I'll see how pedantic I can be with adjustments and modding 😂🤦‍♂️

    New sub here..I came across your tire test the other day so I've been watching some older vids..love old army type vehicles and this is a nice one, looks like it's a real beast..I'd like to see how good it pulls up the hill you used on the tire test vid..

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT 3 роки тому

      I actually filmed that but made a mistake and stopped recording when I started and started when I wanted to stop. I lost 15 or 20 minutes of footage! Just didn't have the energy currently to redo it (I'm not always well), but for your information it got the trailer about 6.5m, about as far as the 2.2" Hustlers. Couldn't get it over the roots at the top of the hill.

      @@RCTNT I think you did a great job with the tire test and you used a Gen8 which I just got myself a couple weeks ago...and I love it...I'd say with some weight on the rear axle there wouldn't be much that could stop the 6x6..
