If not, ah well, you gained a friend anyway. I met my wife through a university jiujitsu club, so way before our first date we were training and drinking buddies, I'd carried her housemate home from the pub & we'd had long conversations about our sci-fi fandoms stretching well into the night. I started crushing on her so after a course we all went to in Leeds I asked her out. That'd be going on 28 years ago now.
Also your friends sound like a good bunch - better to have friends who *seem* mean, like they take the p!ss, but who *are* kind, like they help you out when you need it, than the opposite where they seem nice but let you down like a sparse crowd when a fat guy stagedives. As they say, you can be a pretty girl on the internet anywhere, but you can only really be a music journalist where there's a music scene & a chance of catching some bands live.
It's so comforting to have friends that just get you as a creator. At this point, almost all of my friends are illustrators, designers, writers, photographers, or whatever just because coming to a normal person all hyped like "Check out this perfect lighting setup!" and getting a "...cool?" in return is disheartening. Glad you've found your people that get excited with what you're doing!

So I just found you on UA-cam and I just watched this video and I know what you are going through at this time. I am bipolar and deal with it every day mostly the depression side of it. I self sabotage myself a lot of the time. I let it consume me up for the last 4 years until I got out of a toxic relationship. Now I am more myself and yes I still deal with it everyday but it doesn't consume me. Also I fold towels like that 😂.
