Rey is dressed like a Jedi youngling in the vision, she could have been trained by Luke and smuggled away by him when Kylo killed the rest. Maybe her powers attracted Luke's attention and Ren's jealously was part of what turned him to the dark side, it would explain his interest in her and "what girl" lines as well as her force abilities. Plus it would explain Luke's expression of recognition.

Arguments for the Kylo being a double-agent theory: Helmet scene: He says to Vader's helmet: "I will finish what you started". Everyone assumes he is talking about the dark side of Vader, but he could be talking about his last act (killing Sideous). Sideous must have had a master, darth plageis/snoke, so he could be referring to killing Snoke as finishing what Vader started. This could refer to the redemption of Vader as well, to stand up against his master.
Kylo Ren is my favorite character in the force awakens. I expected him to be a badass, mysterious character, and boy, I was surprised. I got something new with kylo, his character is full of depth, and totally different from what I expected. I specially like the "han killed himself" theory, that would explain why kylo says "thank you" to han as he dies.
As in granddaughter somehow? Couldn't be daughter, or she'd be waaayyy older. Accents don't mean shit really, Leia changed hers back and forth in IV, depends on who she is talking to. Quite doubtful that Kenobi took a wife prior to and definitely not after his self-exile on Tatooine. Then he would have had to have a child and that child in turn would have had to find a mate. On that planet? Possible, yes, probable, not really. Nah, she is either Kylo's cousin or sister, and given VII and awareness of her, most likely cousin. Sure, its the most obvious answer but she probably is Luke's daughter or possibly some type of force creation/clone. Awesome self-taught pilot, great mechanical skills, natural force abilities, the light saber "calling" to her, etc. Sounds like a Skywalker, doesn't she?
Rey was most likely born way after Obi-wan died and even if she is around 30 years old I doubt Obi-wan was finding many women to create a child with whilst he was a hermit living in the desert. Sure he could have had a child whilst he was prequel aged but that would have put Rey at around 50 years old, unless Obi-wan is Rey's grandfather in which case that would be a very loose and shit familial tie and I think everybody would be very disappointed. Plus that still doesn't really make sense why she's so linked to the Skywalkers, I mean sure Obi-wan was important to their family but Rey seems to be specifically linked to Skywalkers, not the Kenobi's. +Narar Ordfo it is confirmed that Rey does not discover who her parents are in TFA. I've seen way more videos (and comments) saying that her being Luke's daughter is "too predictable" or "bad story telling" on lucasfilms part.
Wow! Some actual smart theories! I'm a big fan of the "Double Agent Ren" personally. The "I will finish what you started", and the fact that despite 15 years under Snoke, he never was fully trained makes it very possible. The only way he had to get close to Snoke was to kill his own father and shows his allegiance.
Whats the point on beeing a double agent if he literally kills the whole republic for them? Remember, when starkiller Base destroyed all those PLANETS? 😂
"Rey’s parents are not in Episode 7. So I can’t possibly tell you who they are at this moment. But all I will say is that this is something that Rey thinks about, too." ... “What I meant was that she doesn't discover them in Episode VII. Not that they may not already be in her world.” J.J. Abrams
+Raul Ibarra ben solo is rey solos brother and luke skywalkers son in episode 6 princess leia kisses luke to make han solo jelous they probraly hade sex to ? might seem far out there but they didint know they where siblings thats why luke left with" rey" he probably felt guilty for ben solos actions or for makeing a baby with leia anywas theories are theories
I love the theory of Luke having turned to the dark side way back when Vader died. It'd not only make for a marvelous twist, but also open up the role for mr. Hamill's full acting potential
My theory is Rey is the offspring of a certain Jedi that was killed after the Sith took over the republic. She then was left on Tatooine for her own safety as her parents promised to come back but never did. That is why she is waiting.
Nice video, but it feels like you've chosen the most unlikely theories you could find. I, for example, have heard of a theory that Rey is a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, and is destined to right his wrongs. This would explain why she is so strong with the Force and why she could pick it up so easily, because she already learned how to do that in a past life. This also explains why Anakin's, and therefor Rey's, lightsaber calls out to her. Furthermore, Kylo Ren might have known who she was, and being Darth Vader's #1 fan, he tried to protect her by hiding her on Jakku and panicked when he found out that BB-8 was accompanied by her and she was leaving the planet. Honestly, this is the most believable theory about Rey's origins I've seen so far.
From the beginning, I said that: Kylo was basically asking his Father to slay him with the lightsaber, due to the fact that, he 'Ben' couldn't bring himself to kill himself nor his father. 'Han's' thinking was like: (turning the lightsaber away from Ben and pointing it to his chest and igniting it) "here, I'll do this for you"..... Ben's mission; which Han knows and Laya does not, requires Ben to hide/purge the light side in order to succeed it. Ben slew that one dude (in Ray's force vision) making himself the leader of The knights of Ren. Side note: What if that one dude that Ben shoved his lightsaber through, was actually Rays Brother or Father. In order to become a full Sith, his last act was to kill his daughter/Sister? Ben was like, No way dude, we slaughtered everyone here and I'm not going to let you kill her. Boom , Now Kylo is now the Master of the Kights of Ren. sorry for sentence structure, I've got a "Wicked Awesome Buzz!" going on. "Cheers!"
Rey is probably Anakin/the Chosen One reincarnate. Daisy, who plays Rey states that she thought the answer is obvious, but apparently not enough for people, so any of the crazier theories probably aren't correct. The lightsaber calls to her, and when she touches it, flashbacks (instead of vision) happens, which includes the voice of both old and young obiwan. Only Anakin met both. She's an amazing pilot, despite stating that she never flew a ship before. She's amazing with the force, but has a little bit of rage in her. Narratively, Anakin's story is also about bringing ballance to the force, but being tempted by the dark side. Rey faced a little bit of this when fighting Kylo.
Had to skip the Rey Skywalker theory... It would be too predictable, and boring. I want a good twist. They need to make Rey just herself, or a Kenobi. Pablo Hidalgo said that Kylo was the new Skywalker of this series.. So do we really need another Skywalker? No.
Agreed, but there are ways she could be a Skywalker and not Luke's or Leia's. I think we do need a Skywalker though, because Luke/Leia are getting old and need to pass the torch and Kylo irredeemable. Those facts will doom, and I would argue, completely compartmentalize the Skywalkers to 9 films and 3 generations, reducing them to a footnote re: the whole history/future of the galaxy. An important footnote perhaps, but still a footnote.
Snoke = Sauron Luke = Gandalf Kylo = Saruman Rey = Sam TR-8R = Frodo Gollum = Darth Vader Wow this actually makes more sence then you'd think y'know, just compare them. Snoke is the leader, Luke is the teacher, Kylo is the dark apprentice, rey is the loyal one, TR-8R is the (Sort of) traitor and Gollum is the one who turned good after a while.
Or maybe even a ghost like Obi Wan. But you know, I hope I they don't do that, since the force awakens is already too much like A New Hope. Han-Solo is already suppose to be a new Obi Wan to Rey, so if they make him a ghost he'll be just like him.
+MadJADNerd in order to become a ghost you need to die a jedi like Darth Vader obi wan and yoda and if he did die a Jedi we would have seen him disappearing after death like obi and yoda
Might be in a flash back or memory sequence they aren't gonna bring him back darth Maul never made a return in the movies and he stayed alive do to the dark side powers Han can't do that
I don't know about the other STAR WARS nerds out there, but judging by his disfigurement and the height added to him via a hologram, Snoke would be Darth Sidious. In episode 5 we see the 'Emperor' and his upper half is blown up to roughly 4 or 5 times it's normal size. In the prequel trilogy it is demonstrated that a hologram can show the entire body, even in a sitting position. As technology in the STAR WARS universe (much like our own) has progressed, so has the quality and the capabilities. Also, I am almost certain that Sidious chose 'Snoke' for the following reason. In episode 6 a massive cloud of smoke billows out of the reactor shaft; therefore he named himself after the one thing that allowed him to escape and hide his true fate - that he is in fact live. All the scars and indentations would likely have come from the fall as there would have been supporting structures at some point in that deep chasm (and we cannot see the bottom). - If that isn't enough evidence for people to believe that this is canon I don't know what is
I have a theory that Rey is actually a Kenobi. It's unclear how old she is but Obi-Wan was in hiding for almost 20 years and you can't tell me he never interacted with anyone. Kilo is now carrying the Skywalker bloodline (more or less) so it would make an interesting twist to have Luke be training Obi-Wan's granddaughter(?). After all, she didn't hear Anakin's voice during her vision, she heard Obi-Wan's.
Rey can't be a Solo, JJ Abrams said that Rey's parent(s) are not in the Force Awakens, so she can't be a Solo, or a Skywalker......she's probably a Kenobi
Rey and Kylo exchanged knowledge using their minds. Kylo looked in her mind, and she looked in his. It was done multiple times in the movie, I don't think a lot of people understand that that is what was going on. "You need a teacher" and then kylo gave her information and she used it against him to win, it's a cheap cop out and brings the question as to why Obi wan and Yoda didn't do it with luke. She has also shown the ability to use some melee weapons.
Re: the last theory - it would be intriguing if Kylo Ren were a double agent, but in the scene where he is alone with Vader's helmet shows us his true colors - "show me again the power of the Dark Side, and I will finish what you began." That doesn't sound like someone who is actually good.
Debunked theories: 1. Rey's family wasn't seen in episode 7, JJ Abrams said so. No Luke, Han, etc. 2. Jyn Erso of Rogue One isn't Rey's mom because Daisy Ridley said she isn't.
+Jennifer Mathis if it is true, I'm more inclined to believe that he did it by himself. He felt the Light Side was just too weak to defeat Snoke when he approached him, and decided to use his innate powers of the Dark Side to get closer to his target.
Here is one question, how would Kilo Ren get Vader's skull when it was burned in episode 6 and his mask when it was left on the Death Star II when it blew up?
I don't think that could be a thing. It may be a bigger/later model of it but BB8 looks to be much bigger than the training ball Luke used. Just my opinion tho.
It's just a joke. Just like my theory of Lando actually being Rey's father, Kylo Ren's mask having a force-detector thing, and Maz Kanata owning the soul of Ahsoka Tano.
I still say Rey is neither Solo nor Skywalker. Harrison Ford confirmed she's not a Solo, and Skywalker is too obvious. Sure the story is about the Skywalkers, but we already have Luke, Leia, AND Kylo, so why need a fourth? In my opinion, Rey most resembles a Kenobi.
Few points to bring up, unless Luke and Leia have a half siblings, it's not possible for there to be a third sibling. Since it's canon that Padmai gave birth to twins. Also, JJ has stated that Rey's parents don't make an appearance in episode 7, and that we don't know who her parents are, as we've never met them. Great video either way, lots of theories that may have some ground to them. Though my favourite so far is that Snoke is actually Darth Plaugus.
The last theory would be awesome - killing Han to get closer to Snoke (we don't know if they ever met in person). But I think it's mostly around because fans love the character of Kylo Ren and want him to turn out a good guy in the end.
JJ said that Rey did not meet anyone from her family in ep7 so Luke being Rey's father is already debunked. Rey Solo makes no sense because Leia's own reaction to Rey was not one of relief or surprise to see her daughter. The only explanation I can make for Rey's affinity to the Force is that she's a prodigy like Anakin was. Anakin at a young age was a genius kid and was the only human who could pod race due to his abilities. Similarly, Rey is also extremely talented herself. She can fix almost anything (like Anakin) and likely learns extremely fast. While she has zero Force training, she may be the type who learns by experiencing it. So her ability to jedi mind trick a trooper is due to her experiencing with Ren and how he mind probed her. Other instances I believe are fueled by pure emotion. In her fight with Ren, Ren is already injured physically and emotionally. Rey is fueled by emotion from the death of Han and momentarily taps into the Force. If we were to graph her Force powers, the line would be low for most of the time and then spikes crazy high during moments when she really needs it. Just like how Luke destroyed the DeathStar, force pulled his lightsaber on Hoth and defeated Vader in the end. All fueled by emotion in times of need. Even though Luke was trained by the end, he did succumb to his emotions in order to defeat Vader. I think the most plausible explanation for Rey is that she was conceived by medichlorians too, just like Anakin, if not is a reincarnation of Anakin herself.
I'm a MASSIVE star wars fan and I really hope that Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter cuz that would make everything a massive spin off! there are reasons: at the end Luke looked at Rey like he knew her, she couldn't have gotten the force off Han Solo because he doesn't have it only Luke and in the movie when Finn said 'Luke Skywalker' Rey freaked out and was like "Really? He exists!"
You separated one theory into three. 1:414:025:12. In the theory Rey is Luke's daughter. She gets more training and more attention than any other student. Ben gets jealous and wipes out all of Luke's students except her. In the force vision where he kills someone who is about to hurt Rey, Kylo Ren instead kills that person. In the theory that person was on his side, but not wanting to see her dead he spares her life. He then wipes her memories using the force and leaves her on Jakku.
Technically speaking, commas are not needed around Luke because it is a more specific term than "her brother". For an appositive, commas would only go around something that is less specific than the name or title used before, such as "Carl, my friend," or "Mr. Smith, my teacher".
Han killing himself is an interesting notion; to spare his son from making the choice and following through with it. Possibly making Kylo Ren a redeemed hero in later movies.
+Ryan Ellis I wish in that scene they didn't obviate the articulation of their emotional reactions. To me it was clear that Han was surprised, and not making a sacrifice. It would have been great if the emotion was more ambiguous so that this theory could have at least more traction, even if it's untrue. The idea of a Han rising again as mecha-smuggler 2.0 with a fog machine running in the back would certainly be entertaining to me.
My theory: Rey is not Luke's daughter, but she was cloned from Luke's lost hand. Which was probably found when his lightsaber was and is why she has a connection to it, is familiar with the Millennium Falcon, knows how to use the force without training and yet bonds with both Han and Leia as if she's always known them, even though they appear to have no clue who she is. If true though, this is pretty much a rip off of Doctor Who. In one episode the Doctor has a "daughter" cloned from his DNA and there was another episode where his cut off hand grows another version of himself.
Kylo and Rey's story is already known. He did not save her/put her on Jakku. They were both young jedi in training under Luke Skywalker until Kylo turned on everyone else and that's the entire back story of the film. Luke Skywalker was training jedi until Kylo turned to the dark side and ruined everything. Rey is one of those jedi and was left abandoned on Jakku for her own safety after everything fell apart. This is why when Kylo says "You need a teacher. I could show you the ways of the force" something clicks in her head and she remembers her training and starts kicking his ass. She was "brainwashed" into forgetting all the jedi training for her own safety and it's during that scene things start to come back to her. The details of Rey's past and who she is is unknown, but this much is undeniable.
+bestieswithtesties You are completely wrong. The new book titled "Bloodlines" would like to speak with you. Also, that book is canon and completely destroys your logic. I'll let you go search it up though, as I can't hold your hand through the entire process now can I? It would take away the fun of seeing your stupid "Kylo turned at age 11" and "Reyis Luke's daughter" theories shattered.
But Rey can't be a Skywalker, she didn't complain at all throughout the movie.
Hahahaahaha

An interesting theory that ignores Han and Leia pretty much calling Kylo their son.
Disregard my previous comment, Kylo could use Leia's maiden name as in real life people use their mother's maiden name.

Tarmaine Crane but he is still part of the skywalker bloodline.

I've got a theory that the character Finn is none other than Lando's son
A bit racist but that would be cool
+Fruity Judy how is that racist, dude grow up, besides its just a suggestion lol
+Joseph Pepin no it wasn't racially motivated at all. that's why I didn't reply to him
lol
OMFG! Thats a siiiick theory xD
My theory is Rey is the offspring of a certain Jedi that was killed after the Sith took over the republic. She then was left on Tatooine for her own safety as her parents promised to come back but never did. That is why she is waiting.
She. Is. Not. On. Tatooine!
+MinunPlays Then where is she?
Jakku!
I predict that Kylo Ren will end up being an ally in episode 9 and snoke will be the main villian
KYLO IS my faverioute and he has compassion for Rey how c, cute...... Lol
Screen Rant and they're love for Star Wars
+New Order Films Their*
+Tim Dev (Dude. Sweet.) its starting to get boring
I still scream in my head every time I see Han die
Luke:I am your father
Rey:Yaaaaaaaaaaaa
Faith Striplin I'm positiive that would be a lot of peoples responses if that happened to them.
Arshiya R that is true
Maybe Rey is daughter of Luke and Leia
wut the
You are disgusting this is not the GOT.
nasty
No, please, no more twincest!!!!!
....
"Cheers!"
There can't be another sky walker as in the prequels only 2 twins are mentioned and came out unless Anakin knocked up someone else
+Blukeyy Rey would be Lukes daughter not Anakins
+Tj Faino I believe he is talking about a sibling of Luke and Leia's.
+Himoverethere I think Rey is boba fetts daughter
Awesome video loved it Thank You
Here is a theory and that is Rey is born from the force
Boooo. It didnt work in the prequels, they shouldn't do it here
My favorite theory is that Rey is daughter or grand doughter of Palpatine
I hope it's Rey Kenobi
But who did obi wan fuck
Carlo Rafael Lee considering Obi Wan is too old, I hope that that Rey is Obi Wan's grand daughter
+Ned Kelsey still who did obi wan screw to have reys parent
Snoke = Sauron
Luke = Gandalf
Kylo = Saruman
Rey = Sam
TR-8R = Frodo
Gollum = Darth Vader
Wow this actually makes more sence then you'd think y'know, just compare them.
Snoke is the leader, Luke is the teacher, Kylo is the dark apprentice, rey is the loyal one, TR-8R is the (Sort of) traitor and Gollum is the one who turned good after a while.
Harrison ford is in the episode 8 cast
+atelophobe probably
- If that isn't enough evidence for people to believe that this is canon I don't know what is
How about the theory that we should wait and see how things play out and not throw shit on the wall and see what sticks?
Welcome to the internet
hahahahahahhah
haha I'm gonna start using that now lol.
+Angel Pygs thanks appreciate
+Angel Pygs and great joke
I have a theory that Rey is actually a Kenobi. It's unclear how old she is but Obi-Wan was in hiding for almost 20 years and you can't tell me he never interacted with anyone. Kilo is now carrying the Skywalker bloodline (more or less) so it would make an interesting twist to have Luke be training Obi-Wan's granddaughter(?). After all, she didn't hear Anakin's voice during her vision, she heard Obi-Wan's.
Kylo Ren is hot, like if you agree
Rey can't be a Solo, JJ Abrams said that Rey's parent(s) are not in the Force Awakens, so she can't be a Solo, or a Skywalker......she's probably a Kenobi
+The IronMinecart Within hours after saying that he took it back.
What is up with UA-cam lol 7 views and 70 comments
It only blows my mind how dumb these theories are
ELConno801 there not dumb, just a lot are a bit of a stretch
LeonardoDicaprios FirstOscar Bit of a stretch to call these theories a bit of a stretch.
Coming next week:
Top ten screen rant videos about the force awakens!
Debunked theories:
1. Rey's family wasn't seen in episode 7, JJ Abrams said so. No Luke, Han, etc.
2. Jyn Erso of Rogue One isn't Rey's mom because Daisy Ridley said she isn't.
I've always wanted the Kylo double agent theory to be true. That it was something he and Luke planned way back during his training.
Love Star Wars!!!
My theory is that BB8 was originally one of those force-blaster-ball things that Luke used for lightsaber training, only it has a head now.
My favorite theory is that Darth maul returns in episode 8 or 9!!!!!
My favorite is still the theory that Rey is Anakin reincarnated through the force. Probably not true, but a really cool idea.
When did he say that we've never met them before?
+SarahMNorris Actually he corrected himself on that. He was trying to deflect and got to fancy and lied.
He went back to say Rey's parents weren't revealed in TFA, not that they weren't in it.
The last theory would be awesome - killing Han to get closer to Snoke (we don't know if they ever met in person). But I think it's mostly around because fans love the character of Kylo Ren and want him to turn out a good guy in the end.
JJ said that Rey did not meet anyone from her family in Ep 7, so her being a Solo or Skywalker is impossible.
He also said Khan was not in Star Trek: Into Darkness
1:41 4:02 5:12.
He then wipes her memories using the force and leaves her on Jakku.
one thing I want to know is that why doesn't Kylo Ren know about Darth Vader's redemption and his early years as a Jedi
the double agent kylo theory makes this movie even more like the "Harry Potter" franchise
another thing to support the rey skywalker theory is that the skywalkers are all natural pilots as rey demonstrated she also is
I do believe Kylo Ren saved Rey, but Han Solo being alive is near impossible, even though I wish it wasn't.
Technically speaking, commas are not needed around Luke because it is a more specific term than "her brother". For an appositive, commas would only go around something that is less specific than the name or title used before, such as "Carl, my friend," or "Mr. Smith, my teacher".
I love Star Wars, justice league, and avengers theories
Han killing himself is an interesting notion; to spare his son from making the choice and following through with it. Possibly making Kylo Ren a redeemed hero in later movies.
yeah I agree
