    I'm tired of people arguing that the Bears need to focus on defense in the draft. Prioritize adding a few stud big uglies to protect #18 and this team will improve exponentially.

      You want a bunch of rookies blocking for Caleb? I'm all for using some day 2 picks on interior guys to start developing, but a first round pass rusher is unquestionably the biggest impact move they can make to this roster.

      @@joeraguso5376 Right. Because picking o-linemen in later rounds has worked out so very well for this team in recent years. They have needs all over the field. But anyone who thinks their biggest need is anything other than o-line simply has not been paying attention. Stud o-linemen pan out as rookies on a regular basis.

    • @jimsnyder6310
      @jimsnyder6310 18 днів тому +1

      First step: Remove the hypothetical BS. Shoulda, coulda, woulda is never reality. Secondly, the play-callers are more important than the HC. The offensive play-calling killed this season (...they better not run Swift into the teeth of the defense on every first play of a drive again). Will the new play-caller be the HC? It is the only job Johnson is qualified to do at this point. I would think he's be the quintessential OC for the Bears, but here we go again. Rookie HC. Third in a row... Lastly, patience is required, Do not expect double digit wins without any knowledge of how this thing will work. There is a ton of gray area on this hire.

      Lions are a loaded team. It was never about the coaching, it's all about the talent. If anything, the Lions' coaches are holding back this team. They are showing a pattern of not being able to win playoff games. If they were coaching in Chicago, the media would be crucifying them right now. You should be happy that they are getting some new blood on their staff (and that your favorite team is not from Chicago).

Not really confident that the idea of repeating things that have failed previously is the right move, but I always support the Bears (...as true fans do ----> maybe learn this, UA-camrs). I totally agree with you, but everyone seems to love the Ben Johnson hire. I don’t trust the Bears organization to do anything right. I totally think they are pandering to the large portion of Bears fan who want this hire instead of hiring a proven head coach. I mean let’s face facts here this is the same front office who decided to hire Eberflus & not hire Dan Quinn & to retain Eberflus when it was the job Jim Harbaugh really wanted. I really hope all this works out, but I could care less if Ben Johnson “fixes” Caleb Williams. I want a head coach who can “FIX THE BEARS”!

    Some folks make great OC's, but not great head coaches. Remember Norv Turner? OC and head coach require different skill sets. And I have to say that I'm not convinced that Ben Johnson is as great as Mike Valenti says he is after watching him not give the ball to Gibbs in the 2nd half vs. Washington last Saturday and how Washington took the ball away from his offense five times. Ben is good, but he's no Shanny or Kingsbury. Sorry.

      There are no Bears fans here. Just the media and their minions.
      Ben is a coach. Bears need a coach. End of story. Is he the best fit? No one knows that yet. You can pretend all you want that he will fail, but reality says that you don't know what is about to happen. The future is unpredictable. Even the Lions win the division every once in blue moon.
      As for the Lions deadly "combonation", their HC cannot win play off games (obviously) and their GM recruited many, many players who were not healthy enough to complete in an entire NFL season. The Lions are not a model franchise, so everything in your comment is a moot point. What happened in Det is not necessarily what happens in Chi. NFL101...
      I also love that you are using the media's "leader of men" quote. It reveals that you are just another one of those media-inspired guys who are pretending to have knowledge, but actually are just parroting the media.

    And What makes ANYONE think that Ben Johnson "Coached" Jared Goff or Matt Nagy "Coached" Patrick Mahomes??? We were told that Matt Nagy would be a GREAT Head Coach based on the great work he had done in Kansas City... What a Pile Of SH*T!!! If Ben Johnson is the new coach, which The Bears Have NOT announced on their official website, He may be another Useless POS that hasn't got a clue and only looks good because of a talented player on his current team... What could this guy possibly have over Pete Carroll? ... nothing, other than he comes with a lower price tag ...
    And once again we see the oppressive hand of Bears executive management meddling in a pure football decision!
