So Japan actually had an exclusive Waldo game on the Super Famicom? It looks like it’s also surprisingly one of the only decent Waldo video games to come out during the time too.
The game "Where's Waldo?" (or "Wally wo Sagase!" in Japan) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) was released in Japan and featured a different style and aesthetic tailored for that market. There are several reasons why a North American version was not released: Cultural Differences: The game's art style and humor may have been more appealing to Japanese audiences, and the localization process would require adaptations that could resonate with North American players. Market Demand: The popularity of "Where's Waldo?" in North America might not have been perceived as strong enough to warrant the investment in translating and marketing the game for this region. Licensing and Rights: There might have been issues related to licensing or the rights to use the "Where's Waldo?" branding in video games. Development Focus: The developers may have chosen to focus on other projects or franchises that were more successful or had a stronger following in the North American market. Timing: The timing of the release could have also played a role. By the time the game was popular in Japan, the market in North America may have shifted toward different types of games or consoles. Ultimately, the decision not to release "Where's Waldo?" for the SNES in North America could stem from a combination of these factors.
Same here. It's also probably the best Waldo/Wally Game from this era and perfect for children. Instead kids got to, uh.. I have no idea what the hell they were doing. Looking for a striped, spectacled man while hindered by extreme tunnel vision, I suppose.
theres a bunch of them… but sadly us in the america and. europe got the shittiest of em and japan kept the best ones. this one for snes and the arcade game were fantastic.
It's just Smax005 down there. I called him out for putting a bunch of likes on his own posts with alt accounts and using that as a metric to whether anyone cares about his posts or not, so he's been trying to get at me ever since. He hasn't done a very good job of it and is mostly only helping my videos get exposure after years of being in relative obscurity because I began posting videos to show to folks I know rather than actual gameplay videos like this one. So, yeah. Negative ratings haven't meant anything on UA-cam since back when they were star ratings and displayed prominently while browsing for videos.
小さい時、お兄ちゃんといっしょにプレイしてたな〜めちゃくちゃ懐かしい!

Gotta say the idea of a Where's Waldo RPG comes off as surprising to me.
