One of the most underrated bands of all time! I've seen them four times, and I'm not done. I got to meet them, Summer of 2015! Super charming, nice people! My friends and I got to chat with them for a while. A memory that will be with me for life.
One of my favorite shows of all time: Psychedelic Furs in Seattle 1991: the whole show Richard Butler was playing tug-of-war with security, pulling fans on stage to dance. This was the final song of their second encore. There were probably 8-10 fans dancing on stage (not getting in the way). At the very last "let it stay forever now...", Richard Butler takes a bow, waves to the audience and walks off as the guitar solo plays. The fans dancing dive back into the crowd and the band plays the song out as the stage lights go dark. It was like, the perfect finish.
Wow this takes me back to my teen's. Used to listern to the whole album again and again. It's just one of those LP's that hasn't got a bad track on it.
You can keep "Love My Way." THIS is the best track on the album. I loved me some Psych Furs. Saw them live in '86, and it was amazing; one of the very best concerts I've seen.
Saw them in 1987 at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas-was standing by their bus before the show as they were getting stuff off and got Richard Butler and John Ashton to sign my Midnight to Midnight cassette label.
Meadow Brook Amphitheatre - Summer 85 or 86, I just remember The Furs creating an amazing atmosphere of love while playing extended versions of Love My Way, Ghost In You and Forever Now. We were on the hill with hundreds of us dancing and standing for the entire concert. I loved it.
I met Richard Butler outside the venue they had played at in Seattle at the Moore Theatre. Richard was very natural and very friendly. They had been playing a "double Bill Topper" with Echo and the Bunnymen. It was a fantastic concert experience. I think that the Year was 1995, not sure though. Both bands sounded great!
Run And Run. i can remember the 1st time i heard this, wtf is this? thank you WAER gone but not forgotten. All the bands of this era; English Beat, Modern English, OMD, New Order, Simple Minds, Ultra Vox, The Furs. Please add your favorites to the list. Keyboards, Drum Machines, whacky hairdo and fashion. Save It For Later.
Late 70’s mid 80’s - you can not top the quality of music from Buzzcocks -Furs- XTC and many others in between. Great time to be a young adult. Still listening 40+ years later.
i remember buying this in 1982 having their first two albums already, and it clicked right away. cleaner than their previous production but losing none of the edginess with Todd Rundgren at the helm, in fact the radio-friendliness did them a great service, it's a solid LP all the way through.
I believe so... I am currently reading the book "Todd Rundgren In The Studio" by Paul Myers, and in the chapter on the recording of this album, Todd played much of the keyboard and sax parts, as the band's keyboardist and sax player had quit right before they went into the studio.
I grew up with these cats 🐈 😻 🐈⬛ and 106.7 Rodney on the ROCK kroq LA and I just heard this song 1 st time month ago I'm hooked on it great skateboarding 🛹 ♥ song I'm 58
1983 cassette mixed tape Psychedelic Furs Marbella Spain. Living with a cool chick from London, great hash connection with the gypsies, love hate relationship with San Miguel Beer...LET IT STAY FOREVER NOW!
I am a very successful songwriter with many songs featured in film & television, eight critically-acclaimed albums. In the early-mid 80s this band was about all I cared to listen to. I blueprinted them note for note. If Richard Butler ever sued me, it would be the best sex I ever had. And I'm not even gay.
I remember i was a teenage misfit at this time,i was very artsy, hated conformity,so i made my own rules,i loved anything that was different,if it was commercial i didn't want to be involved,so I got into music as an escape and the Furs was one of the bands i loved in the 80's .
The sad thing is that when u say to someone that you like the furs they usually say who and then u say pretty in pink? Oh I love that song. Then u want to say to them u ain't heard nothing yet.
Zack Alford and Rich Good are amazing with them these days. Zack is letter-perfect. Richard and Tim Butler are good as ever and Mars is a world-class sax man. If you haven't seen them recently you really should. They are touring and they are not to be missed.
Over the span of their long career I also love World Outside and Made of Rain. I loved Mirror Moves too, back then it was supreme, but I love that in '91, and then 29 years later the still put out amazing music.
Wish it would have happened. Because forever now would have been late 1982. Of course i'd have still liked to age a little because while i love the idea of being forever in 1982, i don't like the idea of being forever 4 (which i was then)
The Ghosts of yesterday are haunting us,,, We were there,, but we are here now,,, Stay with us they forever urge us ,,, yes we want to ,, but still we can't,,, Music save us !
'83 Gusman Hall , Miami. Oscar & I on blotter. Before show began , cute older chick with platinum bob comes up and proposes . Oscar replied "we're homo". I followed with "on acid". She said "So what?"
Nah, "he isn't very honest, but he's obvious at least," that's the shit. "The banker in a tired suit?" The music is infectous, so friggen good. But man, Richard Butler, coming up with these words. The Ghost in You, Pretty in Pink, Love My Way, Forever Now? " Damn. Let the Psychedelic Furs stay forever now.
Best song on one of the greatest albums ever

Dizziemiss Lizzie part of chaos the forever now
I love you ~
Never Underrated
Those guys had many songs in the charts, so why underrated of all time?
Ask Richard who Caroline is, and how is she these days?
Saying they're underrated is an understatement.
Should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame no questions asked

Thanks...I need this.
That *was* a fantastic show!
You're beautiful and made my day
I saw them in ‘86, and yes, it’s still one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
thats totally wild
The best song on the album - simply brilliant, and that outro........takes me right back there.
I agree: best song on the album! Should’ve been the single.
The outro is pure perfection! 🖤🖤
Wow this takes me back to my teen's. Used to listern to the whole album again and again. It's just one of those LP's that hasn't got a bad track on it.

I'd like to agree with you. But what about Run and Run? And President Gas??
There is nothing like this. There never will be again.
Utterly fantastic. Lyrics are beautiful. It's so touching and meaningful.
Absolutely fantastic. Love the Psychedelic Furs they were one of the alternatives to new romantic bands at the time. Great era in music.
succinct contest and insightful aussi
Still sounds amazing after sooo many years....reminds of catching buses with my Walkman. Oh my god!
Definitely sounds fresher than 99.9% of the new stuff out there.
one of the greatest post punk bands ever!!! I put them in the same discussion and sentence with joy division
I got to see them live about 17 years ago....met the band. Was a hell of a night!
Sorry not on the same level as Joy Division, but a great band.
@@mssanfran1967 yeah the what..? the furs are far and away the superior musically and otherwise! haha!
so rightsville
@William Fotiou then don't listen. It's as simple as that!
This was on of my favorites in high school ❤️
Saw them in 1987 at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas-was standing by their bus before the show as they were getting stuff off and got Richard Butler and John Ashton to sign my Midnight to Midnight cassette label.

Sounds great, I would love to see them live, fantastic band
❤ I was there just seen them in Detroit 2023 , 16th time I LOVE THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS 😊
That tour was in 2001.
Love the tubular bells break, fantastic song, the furs are underrated!
Run And Run. i can remember the 1st time i heard this, wtf is this? thank you WAER gone but not forgotten. Going back to my youth now before going into 6th form...just such a great album & brings backs so GREAT memories!
Thanks guys for a great album.
Late 70’s mid 80’s - you can not top the quality of music from Buzzcocks -Furs- XTC and many others in between. Great time to be a young adult. Still listening 40+ years later.
XTC are so underrated, brilliant band.
2022 Still a Classic!
i remember buying this in 1982 having their first two albums already, and it clicked right away.
cleaner than their previous production but losing none of the edginess with Todd Rundgren at the helm,
in fact the radio-friendliness did them a great service, it's a solid LP all the way through.
Saw them in Barcelona, 91 they finished the show with this song.. Great memories
MASTERPIECE
FABULOUS
So unique!
The smiths? Fuck ‘em.
Echo? They’re ok.
Psychedelic Furs? Yeah. Hell yeah.
C'mon ! They are all good in their different ways.
Great for all time
Seen them last year in Harrisburg Pa, great show for $50
Remember the day I bought the album straight off the press’ fabulous piece of work. Plus! Met them late 70s early 80s.
Great music because one doesn't have to think about it too much.
Always my favorite love they forever 💕!
Awesome. Nice synth and guitar at the end

Best album
Saw them last week. Superb gig. They have still got it.

l saw them several times. The early shows w/ the cellist gal were the best.
1983 cassette mixed tape Psychedelic Furs Marbella Spain. Living with a cool chick from London, great hash connection with the gypsies, love hate relationship with San Miguel Beer...LET IT STAY FOREVER NOW!
Just so damn good.
It doesn’t get any better than ,best live band on the planet.
So good.
Psycho Pelts in the 1980s, at the Mesa Amphitheater, in Mesa AZ. GREAT SHOW.
Michael Harvey I was at that same show. It brings chills to me almost forty years ago. They just make them like the Psychedelic Furs today.
I am a very successful songwriter with many songs featured in film & television, eight critically-acclaimed albums. In the early-mid 80s this band was about all I cared to listen to. Happy Birthday today(June 5) to Richard Butler. Cheers!
The sad thing is that when u say to someone that you like the furs they usually say who and then u say pretty in pink? Oh I love that song. Then u want to say to them u ain't heard nothing yet.
That's the story of my life pretty much.
It’s the same with the Goo Goo Dolls :/
Zack Alford and Rich Good are amazing with them these days. Zack is letter-perfect. Richard and Tim Butler are good as ever and Mars is a world-class sax man. If you haven't seen them recently you really should. They are touring and they are not to be missed.
great album
Saw these mighty men at the Kilburn National in 1989 with my first heartbreak.... I burnt the T shirt.
This album got me into Todd. Also the best Furs album in my opinion.
Over the span of their long career I also love World Outside and Made of Rain. I loved Mirror Moves too, back then it was supreme, but I love that in '91, and then 29 years later the still put out amazing music.

Flo and Eddie!
J aime plutôt bien💛🌼
I love you 💛🌼
Moi aussi.
I had this on cassette in 82 ,i think it got chewed up. Cool album. I was only 11 so went over my head Abit at the time 😢
ALTERA HISTORIA DU ROCK
*Brixton Academy (not Kilburn). Never seen so much leather on 30 and 40 somethings - nice!
The Ghosts of yesterday are haunting us,,, We were there,, but we are here now,,, Stay with us they forever urge us ,,, yes we want to ,, but still we can't,,, Music save us !
I was there 86 barrow Glasgow
❤️
I can definitely hear the influence of David Bowie's "heroes" on this song.
Hell yayeh!
their early years 77 to 82
so agreed. most remember them from their mid to late 80s "pop" sound. The early records are sooo good!
he isn't very honest
but he's obvious at least
This songs describes our current global political and social problems.
Favorite song by them.2nd : Pretty in Pink original version not the movie version
R❤R. Have we lost our way?
Epic. Just saw them last week. Hadn’t seen them since 1982 in college. Still a great band
uk cover, us track list
ChromDioxid cassette tape. Yeah!
Such a scientific song. The early 80s were our last great technological Era. Rap music killed society.
not just rap music, but basically 95% of stuff made by bands that came out after 2000
'83 Gusman Hall , Miami. Oscar & I on blotter. Before show began , cute older chick with platinum bob comes up and proposes . Oscar replied "we're homo". I followed with "on acid". She said "So what?"
President Gas is tap-dancing for the banker, he's a thief. Best lyric of all time?
Nah, "he isn't very honest, but he's obvious at least," that's the shit. "The banker in a tired suit?" The music is infectous, so friggen good. But man, Richard Butler, coming up with these words. @@brianmallen8887 Well put. God bless
Really is an incredible song ❤️
President Trump is tap dancing .....
That intro is so irrestible ...
