As someone who been on a number of Alpha courses across a selection of different churches these ideas are good ones, especially regards letting the conversation flow and don’t shy away from those harder moral questions.
I am looking at Alpha course info as I am sick of the way the church I attend on Sundays have a limited number of places at only 36 and the main Sunday service part of the building holds over a thousand. I am an evangelist and have a homeless guy (I used to be homeless) who I invited to their Alpha but is turning him away. I am disgusted at this. Do they not realise the mortality rate of people who sleep rough??? I attended Alpha shortly after 11th September 2001, and it was a couple of days after that fateful day that I gave my heart to Christ. My most memorable experience on Alpha was the Holy Spirit weekend away where I had a dream where I saw Jesus and the Father in the throne room and Jesus standing with his arms outstretched towards me. I was worshipping in English, but those I was staying with woke up in the early hours of the morning hearing me shouting in tongues.

The alpha course is dangerous Christianity explored much better.
