the Aespa storyline introduced Nævis. In the story line, you have the real world and the virtual world. Between those 2 worlds you have The Flat. Nævis used to live in the flat and was confined there. When the Aespa girls had there final fight with the Black Mamba, Næsvis broke the rules and entered the virtual world to help the Aespa girls. After that, she couldn't return and got banished so she decided to come to the real world. First time she came to the real world was in "Welcome to my world" by Aespa. SM Entertainment always had plans to debut her but due to drama inside SM Entertainment it got postponed. The CEO, who was the main creator of the Aespa universe, got expelled and is in bad standing. I guess they sorted out the rights etc. so they could debut Nævis now That is the very short boiled down version of the whole thing. lol
Naevis is styled as "AI" in SM Entertainment world Kwangya (digital universe), but this is not a real AI, only as a character in their world. It's not itself an AI creation, so this is not "AI Artist". The song was written, produced, and composed by humans. The voice is digitized of 12 different artists, still humans. Animation is clearly done with very good motion capture (mo cap). Nothing here is an "AI" creation. It's just a virtual artist, a creation of SM Entertainment, not AI creation.
I agree with "this is not a real AI" but "Nothing here is an "AI" creation". LOL. The MV's ending credits write "AI Technical Direction HEESU KIM" and "AI Voice Tech by HUMELO". Also, the teaser images of Naevis were made by AI. SM was even too lazy to adjust the hands, skirt, etc,... properly.
@PhuongNguyenThiBich-lr1zl ... um this isn't true lmao... its part of the lore, they're digital artists like cgi artists and editors, and the hands and skirt are real, they used a real dancer, they just cgi'd a digital face over the top. Take Loossemble for example, in their credits/lore, the members are categorised as "commander", "medic", "pilot", etc. But they're not actually those things, it's just the lore lol
Almost right, but the voice is an ML model trained on 12 real girls, not just those girls "digitized". That's why they can claim it to be a real AI artist. ML is, indeed, considered a branch of AI.
Just so y'all know, this isn't an ACTUAL AI, it's all 3D animation and CGI. Her voice is also just a combination of the 4 voices of the aespa members. Don't worry guys lol
The animation was never claimed to be AI, just the vocals. (which are an ML model trained on 12 voices, of which Aespa members are obviously predominant.)
actually its SEMI-AI (only the voice is made with AI) in AESPA world , naevis is pure AI but in REALITY it is semi AI (because there are many staff *humans* behind this digital video work) i love how them make this masterpieces....💞 the MV is ART the SONG is ART the CHARACTER is ART
Those are the questions .. Aren't they? Who is she? What is she really? And what will this mean to the music industry? 🤔 Interesting concept, interesting idea, interesting technology. Overall the song was good, absolutely reminded me of a vocaloid. I don't really know what to think but Good Luck on trying to interview NAEVIS, that would be interesting
If you know programming and coding, nævis is the number 1 as the internet started from a string of 1 and 0 and she is code 1 and black mamba is 0 so basically her evil twin. Based on some other info, there is a virus called code black that Karina also mentions in Armageddon and nævis wants to stop it.
In the SMCU lore (it's the actual thing), Naevis is a sort of gatekeeper between the real and digital world that is sworn to not intervene directly what happens on either side. In the Black Mamba saga she helped aespa girls travel to Kwangya (the digital wilderness) in order to defeat the said Black Mamba. Against the rules, she helps them strike the final blow - for which she is punished by losing her gatekeeper position. Since then, she is trying to enter the real world herself - and after a few years, succeeds (which is telegraphed in "Welcome to MY world" by aespa, btw :) ).
Looking into the song it doesn't seem to actually be an AI created song, just an AI voice mashup of the group Aespa, which basically means it's just a fancy Vocaloid. Still a good song, but thankfully not fully AI created!
Can't wait to see how Aespa pull's this off live (February 15 at Chicago). Naevis performs in the current Aespa Synk Parallel lines tour. Naevis is built out of Aespa parts...both appearance and voice. She does look a lot like Karina...with Ning Ning eyes and a few Winter parts thrown in for good measure.
It is so cool how much this incredible AI technology is being advanced, not to solve any real world problems, but so that AI tech companies can profit from tools that artificially pump out content that would have normally been a product of a real person's passion and creativity. It is also very cool how a generative AI works by regurgitating data it's been fed, so all AI art is inherently based on existing works which AI companies are currently allowed to just gather en masse, disregarding all copyright concerns.
Nævis is tayone she is a Ai but she is a human she is apart of Aespa you can tell if you stop at 3:43 that is aespa SHE IS A HUMAN trust me her real name is tayone she is a kpo idol as if you went to aespa concert you will see her dancing but not in person (SO PLEASE TRUST ME SHE IS TAYONE SHE PEOPLE SAYS SHE LOOKS LIKE WINTER BUT SHE IS TAYONE SHE NOT NÆVIS VUT WE CALL HER THAT) thank you
Get me to think about Sharon Apple from Macross Plus. 1995 Anime with nice concert parts. In this Anime Sharon is an AI artist, a black box in real life and only in the concerts in a human form. BTW Mecha Anime, very nice.
No one says it’s new. Even before naevis, many have done projects like this. The reason why fans excited because before naevis debut, there’s universe storyline behind it. Naevis, aespa and ae-aespa. So yeah fans, especially MY, are excited about naevis’ debut.
@@leninlemon7609 I have nothing against the genre. I think it's fascinating. But the term "AI artist" is a bit misleading. Did you watch the whole SMCU episodes? Should nstart with that if you want to know who actually Naevis is. And then watch her new 5 prequel eps + her birth film in that order.
The term AI has become a neologism and is ambiguous at the same time. It's a re-defined meaning, an extended meaning with a new background and aside of the typical artifical intelligence aspects - it is virtual. Naevis is a virtual idol and SM is known to be experimental, same as they were with aespa at the beginning. SM is pushing this new re-coined meaning as a buzz term to market and promote Naevis. Whether people accept this new definition of AI or not is up to everyone but that still creates a big buzz. People are discussing now, especially in Korea, that has all its purpose. Anything that can learn, generate, or be fast, or be better in any way than a human is considered intelligent and artifical because humans create this intelligence entity. So was Naevis. There are many enemies of AI, especially AI artists who begrude the Naevis preoject because of competition, obfuscation of AI art and accuse them of "misleading definition" as well as job related stuff. Naevis was created by AI artists too, and character designer, graphic specialists, vfx, voice creators etc. And I say AI because it's a buzz word even if it originally has a different meaning. But technologies, states of science and economics keep changing and so are definitions.
