Hello my name is Marlene I just recently found your channel and your work is extraordinary give me some great ideas as I'm just learning to slow stitch thank you for all the wonderful videos I hope you have a great day
Glad Richard is coming along nicely. Hopefully you don't get what your kids have. This piece is just gorgeous I really like what your doing with it..you really inspired me. Thanks for the visit.
I really enjoy your videos. Every time I stitch I turn on one of your videos. I always love seeing what new things you are working on. Sort of like stitching with a friend. Love seeing all your different threads.
Yes, I understand the funk thing. I get into a funk after finishing a piece. It's almost like a separation. And then it takes me a while to start on something else.
Interesting you said about migranes... I never connected it before... Since I lived in flagstaff and was up on the Hopiland, 20 years ago I haven't had a headache either, that is til my mom and husband died this last month... But even the ones I get aren't anywhere as bad as they used to be. That's really interesting! Since I lived in America I have been healthier than ever before... In Arizona I was the happiest and contented I have ever been in my entire life, now 66 years... Wonder if the altitude, rocks, beauty, has a part in that? Your comment has made me think! I am back in the UK now, but my heart is still very much in Arizona and probably ALWAYS will be... You made me search a bit for connections... Health, happiness, good mental health being tied up in some way to our bodies in a very healing way. I feel more at ease in the woods, than anywhere else in the UK, my body relaxes visibly once my feet touch the earth floor of a wood...maybe it's the same thing? It's very interesting...
How wonderful and what a difference - Arizona and the UK! The air is different, the vegetation, everything. I hope you'll be able to find the ground again, especially now during so much loss. I'm thinking of you Vanessa. 💕💕💕
You inspired me with the beautiful colors of thread and gorgeous rovings. In fact I got out a wool quilt project that has felted birds that I haven’t touched in over a year. There are beautiful locks of hand dyed wool that came in a kit. This morning I got a lot of progress done on a chickadee. I usually comb the wool but I followed your example and left some of the locks curly to simulate feathers.
Your work is absolutely uniquely gorgeous! A funk can sometimes be necessary to be led in another direction. Accepting it, letting it pass, and wise decision to just go onto to something until it does, brings a new light onto what we are doing. As unpleasant as they are, they challenge us and thus we grow. So glad your migraines have stopped. So much to say for a break and the power of nature. Thank goodness. Happy re-start.
Thx so much Carolyn! Yes, the power of nature. Gosh, I forget that sometimes. And thank you for the reminder that funks can and do pass, mine already has(!) and that they challenge us and we grow as a result. Lots of wisdom there. ❤️
I’ve just found your site Ariana. You are very serious but very funny at the same time. I’m new to embroidery and so I will be tuning in to learn lots more from you. Thanks for all your news as well. It’s interesting hearing from someone across the Pond. Best wishes, Jacqui. Xx 💕💕
I love watching your talent. You inspire me to stitch. Wow, you must be close to where I am. I was surprised when you said you went to Bryce and the canyons. I'm in Salt Lake City Utah. I thought you were European. I don't know why. Lol💜
I truly enjoyed watching this video. It was so soothing and inspiring as well. I love videos like this where you can either stitch along and just enjoy the company or be relaxed and just watch the process. The piece is absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait to see it complete. I’m binging on your videos lol. Love them all so far.
Ariane, I always enjoy watching your process. Thanks for sharing. I really feel for you with your husband down because of his foot (poor guy!), and 2 sick people in the house. I hope everyone feels a lot better soon. For me, funk = a distraction of my regular routine, or, I need a change. I don’t want to do that project, or I’m tired of it. 🤗💕
A follower sent it to me. She has a brick and mortar shop in Beamsville, Ontario, called Nancy’s Fibre Art Shop - 1-905-563-3588, but doesn’t sell online. Isn’t it beautiful?!
Aw... thank you so much Sherry. After posting this I thought - oh, I hope no one thinks that I'm telling them to just get over whatever their feeling. I'm glad it didn't come off that way to you. ❤️
Hi Ariane Love seeing into your process! It helps me grow as a stitcher. Happy Richard and your son and daughter are on the mend. It is no wonder after the trip and their illnesses you are in a funk! Agree with others and you that doing things you love and staying active are wonderful ways to deal with mood low points. Thanks for the reminder! If not before, hopefully by the end of the week all of you will be moving back to the higher elevations. Take care of yourself! Maybe next Patreon meet up, make sure Pat can attend, or give Anna a call for some laughter. 🤗🤗
Aw... thanks so much Sandy. Yes a phone call to a friend always perks me up. Just got off the phone with my sister, always wonderful talking with her. And this comment from you! So thank you for that. I do feel better and already did so by yesterday afternoon. ❤️
I am so thrilled to see what your doing to get through your mental block. I have been in that state for a few days. This really helped me. Thank you. It looks amazing. Happy to hear your headaches have sieced
Oh Cindy, I’m so glad this helped. It’s nice to know we aren’t the only ones who feel off from time to time. I’m sending you hugs and just know your message made me feel better. ❤️
I've always said when I return from a holiday I need another one to recover from it!! Had a setback at the weekend with bad head pain - not as advanced in recovery as I thought🙁. Sorry Richard and youngsters are suffering. No wonder you're having a funk day or so! I'm finishing a Blackwork cushion cover (with some gold butterflies and flower centres) and it's helping me feel good as the border takes shape. Can't believe I gave away some dyed wool curls I'd not used much when I made up a some mixed media packs for a Guild raffle!
The black work sounds fabulous! I’m sorry you had a setback. That’s always discouraging. Don’t you hate when you donate stuff only to find that you could have used it?! I did that with some wool roving I purchased early on and then thought well I’ll never use this! Ha!! ❤️💕❤️
Interesting and good news about the migraines and your husband's feet. I hope you can stave off the kids' infections. I love that "unicorn hair". I looked up Nancy's Fibre Art Shop and it is a 3 hour drive from me. I wish she had an online shop.Your piece is gorgeous. We all have those blue funky days and fortunately some of us can get through them, I walk and stitch, not at the same time!
I love what you’re doing. I’ve gotten so hooked on UA-cam videos and floss tube videos I’m gonna have to look at your Instagram and see what you did a few years ago. Looking for year artistic path following your professional career and early arts education. Wondering if you submit to competitions in the last years also.
Hi Dolly - best place to go is my website to see the trajectory. I rarely post on IG these days. It’s one of my least favorite platforms simply because they make it so difficult to add links to anything. ❤️

I was wondering about you and your husband. Glad your husband doing
well. As always beautiful stitching. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Hui. ❤️💕❤️

oh thank you so much Jane. I really appreciate that.
Yes, I understand the funk thing. I get into a funk after finishing a piece. It's almost like a separation. And then it takes me a while to start on something else.
Exactly! Me too. ❤️
Wow I live about 50 minutes from there. Got to check out that shop! I didn’t know it existed. Thx

You'd think they could put together a w h Ole sheep from all those beautiful locks. A beautiful technicolor sheep.
Haha! That would be quite a sight, wouldn’t it?! ❤️🤣❤️

Ha! Walking and stitching are such great ways to shake it off. ❤️
I'm sorry if you feel like your funk was a downer. This video gave me the equivalent of the perfect gentle rainy day.
