Lucas Imbiriba is a Brazilian guitarist who studied classical guitar in Europe.
He’s currently a professor at a university, teaching classical and folk guitar.
In his questions & answers section on his UA-cam site, he said that he had 15 years of classical and flamenco studies in Brazilian and European conservatories, as well as 10 years of electric and fingerstyle studies.
What university does he teach?
Lucas has a channel. Everyone should check him out. He can play 3 or 4 lines all at once, including percussion. Unbelievable guitarist. He has to pay extra for fire insurance for his strings.
Lucas Imbiriba is a FANTASTIC guitar player!!! I follow him on his channel since a couple of months and I am still flabbergasted by his finger style. He is flawless... He seems to have a lot of guitars and, by the visible wears on some of it, he got a lot of serious pratices with them. On one of his video, he presented an expensive guitar borrowed (I guess) by a manufacturer (I dot no remember which one) on which he demonstrated its quality. For me at the present time, he is my best (virtuoso) guitar player on the planet...

Hell yeah - I was blown away!!! Monster, virtuoso playing! So many brilliant ideas & pulled them off so clean! But Matt....I'm not sure if he played any 13th or b9#11 chords! 😂🤣😉
My man, love this video 🤜🤛 🤙 Spiral Stairway to Heaven and Roller Coaster to Heaven 😂😂 love it. Loved your sense of humor and personality throughout, and yes.... this dude is absolutely beyond incredible. I've seen maybe 5 or 6 of his covers at this point and it seems like each one i watch and listen to, I'm blown away further and further each time. Its mind blowing. I might ask him to pay my insurance bill because I keep dislocating my jaw when it drops to the floor each time I watch him lol. The dude is insane.... and as you said perfectly, you have an immense appreciation for his skill because you know what it takes to master your instrument. I also play guitar and think of myself as a strong player, but Lucas might be the best guitarist I've ever seen. Maybe I'm caught up in the moment because there are so many greats, but I am blown away and in love with his music. He never disappoints 🎸🎶 Great video 🤙

The only info I could find was that he is Brazilian and the logo on the guitar looks like he is playing a Martin. But not sure. First time hearing. He is very talented. Thanks for the reaction.
Nope, he plays a Maton. Australian brand - same brand Tommy Emmanuel is using.

I was just thinking how I missed your reactions (to Marcin Patrazlek - by the way, have you cheked his last video, Toccata & Fugue?). I found this Lucas Imbiriba in one of Marcin's reaction - he is also fenomenal! I think you will like his version of Malagueña, Desperado and many others. I certainly would love to see your comments on them!

I couldn't resist another smart-ass comment, Matt - Next time I see Itzhak Perlman, I'm gonna tell him that the next time he plays Sarasate Zigeunerweisen, he should give the orchestra the new arrangement by Lennie Niehaus, upgraded with upper extensions and altered chords! When you see Dimash at your next luncheon, you can give him the other Lennie arrangements, get him straightened out! It's a new frontier for those who love finger style guitar.
Many of the Brazilian "violão" players have classical training.
