Ballade no 4 is personally the best, it fits really well with the piece and you can just feel the pain and emotion through what's basically organized chaos slowly clumping together into the brilliant fall of notes at the end, ending with 4 beautiful chords
@@Ludwingvanchopin ballade no. 4 reminds me of life and how you can go in circles sometimes, we can see that during the exposition, with the main theme still playing over and over again, but not always the same, always something different, some variation, sometimes it goes somewhere sometimes it doesn't but it eventually evolves to the calmer b theme we get. We stay there for awhile, comfortable than were suddenly back to theme a, it becomes more and more faster and loud while the counterpoint kicks in, suddenly we find ourselves in a calm triumphant theme, than we find ourselves in a cascade of arpeggios changing and a long calm. That calm doesn't last forever and the coda comes, a nervous breakdown that eventually resolves the piece. That's just how I think about it
The thing with the first Ballade is that (imo) it peaks in the middle of the piece and not at the coda, which means that even though the coda isn’t necessarily better than the others (depends for everyone and it’s definitely amazing) it still stands out
Ballade #4 = Ballade #2 > Ballade #1 = Ballade #3 Zimmerman's interpretations of #1-3 are transcendetal while Kocsis' live interpretation of #4 is out of this world. May he rest in peace.
Yes looks like it. Also I just saw a comment in which he states that he indeed played it. Also, just to inform you, it's Zimmerman (it's not really important so if you don't really care you can ignore this.)
Hi @Ludwig van Chopin, I got an amazing idea for an upload of yours: Can you do a hardest piece on every tonality, that would be so interesting; Some suggestions: d- symphony 9 piano transcription Liszt (Sorry Rach 3), C♯- Gaspard de la nuit; a- Paganini Variations Brahms.....
It is a work of pure genius Not only the harmony but the counterpoint and overall conbination of different motifs and melodies It is chopins magnum opus along with his 3rd sonata, cello sonata and barcarolle
This is my list from the worst to the best:
Ballade no 2
Ballade no 3
Ballade no 1
Ballade no 4
What’s yours?
3, 4, 1, 2. 1 and 4 interchangeable
Ballade no 4 is personally the best, it fits really well with the piece and you can just feel the pain and emotion through what's basically organized chaos slowly clumping together into the brilliant fall of notes at the end, ending with 4 beautiful chords
@@StormyTea I think that, the way you described it is incredible and make you realize how gourgeous is this piece

The word "worst" is not appropriate when it comes to Chopin.
why the 2nd one is so underrated T-T

I have no list because i cannot choose a favourite between all of these masterpieces. But Ballade 1 will always have a special place in my heart.
The thing with the first Ballade is that (imo) it peaks in the middle of the piece and not at the coda, which means that even though the coda isn’t necessarily better than the others (depends for everyone and it’s definitely amazing) it still stands out
OUTSTANDING!!!!! Especially the 1st and 4th!!
@@Ludwingvanchopincouldn’t have said it better myself ❤
3,4,1,2 a lot of times i change the order, they are truly amazing
1. Ballade No. 2
2. Ballade No. 4
3. Ballade No. 3
4. Ballade No. 1
Top 3 are all interchangeable depending on the day. Ballade 1's always 4th place.
Good choices. Stay tuned for the video on Chopin Scherzi's Finale
factssss number 2 is so good
The final interpretation gave me goosebumps
Ballade #4 = Ballade #2 > Ballade #1 = Ballade #3
Zimmerman's interpretations of #1-3 are transcendetal while Kocsis' live interpretation of #4 is out of this world. May he rest in peace.
0:42 no.1 coda
2:09 no.2 coda
4:10 no.3 coda
7:43 no.4 coda
Great work. What’s your favourite one?
@@Ludwingvanchopin I prefer 3, especially bozhanov's performance.
@@Snebek2 I love 3 too. It's so underated, I like Zimmerman's rendition basically for all the Ballades
@@LudwingvanchopinSAME
I believe this is Zimmerman’s recording
His interpretation and skill are just beyond description 🤩
Zimmerman's ballade is Epic!!
Siuuuum hai sistemato gg
Second is insanely good
@Ludwig van Chopin, did you play any of them?
In my dreams.
@@Ludwingvanchopin 🤣🤣, Nope, just practise.
1, 4, 3, and 2.(most to least favorite)
Who's the performer? Zimmermann?
Yes looks like it. Also I just saw a comment in which he states that he indeed played it. Also, just to inform you, it's Zimmerman (it's not really important so if you don't really care you can ignore this.)
Who is playing?
Zimerman.
In terms of coda alone
1. 3
2. 1
3. 2
4. 4
I have a great idea for your next upload, do a 100 hardest piano pieces, or, hardest pieces for piano tier list
I think doing a top 100 is a lot of work. Surely I can manage to do a 10 piece list
@@Ludwingvanchopin ok, still ok

@@Omar_Halilovic wow, nice idea. If I do I’ll put in the video your comment
@@Omar_Halilovic one thing, In your opinion should I do it for both major and minor tonality of a note?

No 1
No 4
No 3

best to worst i have 3 1 2 4
i really don't understand why people like 4 because it's really repetitive and i really like 3 for some reason
3 is my personal favourite ballade
4 is absolutely not repititve
It is a work of genius
The counterpoint, harmony and everything us sublime
4 sucks. I like just the last bars...I feel no emotion at all . I love the rest of the codas..over the most 1
Its coda lacks character
It is a work of pure genius
Not only the harmony but the counterpoint and overall conbination of different motifs and melodies
