@@Thefuture30005 Enjoyed both of those as well, I didn't like Priest second half as good, but the first omni is really entertaining.
Mostly liked the Coates omni in its entirety.
@@Thefuture30005 Hudlin is a lil more fast paced and fun. The rest of run is good. Coates is super fun as well. Priest run is the defining run on the character. A lil slow burn in the beginning, but once it gets going, it gets going ha.
Hudlin's Black Panther is a must-buy for me, but I already have the only Avengers Forever that I'll ever need 😁 in the Busiek/Perèz omnibus.
I agree with you. The original Avengers Forever is a classic that can't be replicated.
@@tasan215I didn't like very much of Jason Aaron's Avengers, & his "Avengers Forever" felt weak as hell. It's like he put the names of all of the Marvel characters he could think of into a hat & drew two at a time, at random, to "create new characters" & then added the "multiverse" cop-out to make it "more epic". Lots of air quotes here.
I'm sorry but Six Gun Kid Nick Fury Winter Soldier is not a compelling or interesting character 🤣

I voted for that on the last two Marvel most wanted omni poll but I believe it didn't even make the top 100 in the most recent one, so I am absolutely over the moon that we're getting it regardless!😄🥳 Standard edition cover is just fine for me. That is a thick BP Omni; glad to see Marvel is still making those and not just really thin ones for max cash. Might have to check that one out

I’m really happy that Black Panther by Reginald Hudlin is finally receiving an omnibus. This was my number one vote for most wanted Marvel omnibuses. It didn’t make the list, which made me nervous that Marvel wouldn’t release this book. Thankfully, they did and it’s coming in February 2025 (perfect timing). Thanks for the announcement Omar, great work as always 👏🏾🙌🏾

The Black Panther Omni is a must buy. The 2003 - 2008 era is one of Marvel's best.
Absolutely. And Marvel editorial was really consistent back then, it really felt like all the books played a part, no matter how big or small, in an overarching story (mostly directed by Bendis, and then Hickman)

I am not interested in Aaron's Avengers run, but I find it interesting that they didn't start at the beginning and this could have been a volume 2 or 3 for his entire run. They have ohcs and the heroes reborn by Aaron Omni already. This announcement caps all of those off. However, I don't see it selling well unless people have those. This is basically unreadable on its own.

That was a great black panther run. Taking place before Civil War, during Civil War, secret Invasion, and I think fear itself. Really good. Been waiting for this one..

Neither one for me but have to say that Avengers DM cover by Phil Jimenez is AWESOME! Looks a lot like the Avengers teams from the 1970s Bronze Age period which is a particular favourite time for me in terms of the stories that came out then. Great to see Wonderman in his original costume. Might just buy the Omnibus just for that cover…… No, just joking, I haven’t got money to burn , Lol.
That cover is certainly appealing, but I have zero interest in the Jason Aaron Avengers run.
Even though I have the Hudlin BP run in singles and trades, I will be picking this up (gotta get that Davis cover). The last Black Panther solo run where they actually let the character thrive (I like the Liss run as well, but that's in spite of its premise)
Don't know anything about the first book, but I've only heard good things about Hudlin's run succeeding Priest's run.

Man, Aaron's Avengers has great artwork but Idk if I truly care to buy anything past the Moon Knight stuff. Only reason I got the OHC's is because they were cheap at the time. I'm very disappointed Marvel hasn't bothered printing more OHC's like they used to.
I’d buy so many modern runs if they’d just release them in OHC. Never understood why we need small trades and complete collections instead of just small trades en OHC’s
@@SeanBalsTrue, and I especially loved owning events without having to read useless or real boring tie-ins. Now I can't get Hickman's Secret Wars nor King in Black all because Marvel refuses to print hardcovers that aren't omnibus size + price.

Excellent! I'd have mapped the first six issues of the 2009 series in a Shuri-centric omnibus also collecting the rest of that run, Klaws, and also probably T'Challa's Most Dangerous Man Alive. But this is still great and I can't complain that it's larger than I thought it'd be. I just hope all that other content isn't orphaned.
I'm happy to be getting this modern stuff pretty quickly!

It is hard to understand, why Marvel doesn't publish those Omnibuses that are most wanted among fans year after year. Such as Daredevil by Nocenti, X-Force by Kyle & Yost etc.

Now, the Black Panther by Reginald Hudlin has been a most wanted omni of mines for quite a while, so that's going to be a day 1 pre-order! (DM cover by Alan Davis).
Great announcements. Glad I can finish the Aaron Avengers run. I understand the change to trades and omnis, but once it's started in a certain format. I think it should at least continue that title/run in the same format.
Format and publishing announcement should have been, "Going forward books with be released in trades, epics, and omnibus formats. But any current run started in the OHC format will continue until it's run completes. No new titles will be released in OHC."
During Hudlin’s run on Black Panther wasn’t there a crossover with The Fantastic Four?

I own nearly Every Marvel Omni. Missing maybe 3-4, and yes, it's partly your fault. Maybe, on the second book. Getting impatient on the classics being continued into the next volume or two. It's time to focus on them.

Good stuff, but I need me some X-Men vol. 6 and 7, and some reprints. It's been a while since some mutant goodness has been announced, and the Mutant Massacre prologue shouldn't count since it is entirely double dip.

Neither for me. I assume Avengers: Forever will be mapped like all Marvel Omnis - Event first and tie-ins next, rather than laid out in event order? Til they change it, I won't buy a Marvel event omni.
No, because it's not an event and there are no tie-ins. There are no sidestories to be awkwardly interwoven, it's all just standard sequential chapters.
These rule. I would get the DM covers for both of these and I really hope they do release Aaron’s Avengers fully in omnibus format.
What are they going to name the rest of the early material, the McGregor/Kirby follow ups? The Bronze Years? They removed the Vol. 1 from the Early Years title, so I'm curious what they'll call it.
Kind of strange publishing this avengers book out of order. Marvel wants me to buy it to keep on my shelf but not read until the rest comes out?! 😂

Man... the love for Hudlin's _Black Panther_ is astonishing to me. I thought it was the absolute worst. I went in with pretty low expectations, because I knew it was badly reviewed as it was coming out, but not nearly low enough as it turned out.
I've bought plenty of books I ended up not liking. It's fine. It happens. I cannot stress enough that this isn't a normal response for me, but the first complete collection was so insultingly bad that I wanted to tear it to pieces. I'm so glad that I didn't pick up all three volumes at once, because I was furious enough at having spent money on just one.
Ok. Definitely might get that Hudlin Black Panther omnibus.

Jason Aarons Avengers however was largely despised, and with good reason. I'll definitely be skipping that. I imagine that will just be for completionists.

Really happy for Hudlin omnibus. But any continuity free modern Marvel era book is a waste of resources IMHO- it's already sitting on the shelves If anyone wants it.

Why can’t they just release Aaron’s Avengers run in its proper order? If they do, this will probably double dip right? Heroes reborn will as well?

@@Hawk_Ryder It's not impossible that there'll be double dipping, but I would imagine when they collect the main series, it'll cut off right before this one.
Something like:
Vol. 1: _Marvel Legacy_ #1, _Avengers_ #1-32ish and the 2018 and 2019 FCBD issues; maybe _War of the Realms_ #1-6 and/or Thor's issue of _Generations._
Vol. 2: _Avengers_ #33ish-62 and the 2021 FCBD issue, _Heroes Reborn_ #1-7, _Heroes Return_ #1, _Avengers 1,000,000BC_ #1.
What a bizarre decision to release Avengers Forever before releasing the actual Jason Aaron run that builds up to this in Omnibus format. I would have expected they would have split the whole run in two Omnis at least, adding in the Avengers Forever title. I know we have the HCs, but it's really not the same. BP is a nice surprise.

I may be in the minority here, but I would have preferred that they shorted the first Black Panther Hudlin Omnibus so that the second one could also include the Hudlin / Maberry content that finished off this series. (Basically, the contents of the "Black Panther: Doomwar" trade paperback. BLACK PANTHER (2009) #7-12, DOOMWAR #1-6, KLAWS OF THE PANTHER #1-4.) It's sitting somewhat orphaned right now under this set-up.
They really want us to buy up the Jason Aaron Avengers OHC’s before they give us an Omni don’t they 😅 not surprised with book 4 due in a couple of months. Either way I’ll be gettin Avengers Forever!
For some reason, I thought Black Panther already had this Omnibus. This was my favorite era of BP.
First one is an easy pass. Second one I'll have to Re read to check if I want it.
I hate they included 2009 1-6. That should be in a separate omni with the rest of that run, Doom War, and when he took over Hells Kitchen.

Black Panther is a pass for me - I read the first CC and aside from "Who is the Black Panther", didn't really enjoy it. As for Aaron's Avengers, I'm happy it's coming out like this because it completes the OHC line, and I will get it at some point. I really wish Marvel would have continued to do OHCs for modern runs..
