Entitlement... Example.. HE is entitled to decide who works for him because HE built the company.. HE does Not have to change his policy so your feelings don't get hurt.. and if that hurts your feelings.. shut up and go start your own thing.. don't try to change his.
That is exactly Right. He put in the work to built up his Company. If you want to do Things differently then go out there and open your own Company. People who Always complain About Things being unfair will never achieve anything. Just to be clear I honostly don't know if you are being sarcastic or not.
@@aureliusva It's not a personality test. Its a question that he wants an answer to. Its the same as McDonalds asking you a question like "if you witnessed another employee stealing what would you do". Thats not your personality. Its snowflakes like you that fill our court rooms with ridiculous claims that aren't even close to valid
But...but. I have a degree in gender studies and liberal arts, and I'm a hypergamous gynocentric democratic Party fourth wave radical feminist, and I have all this student debt!
A decade ago, it would have been a joke story; now it's legitimate. Millennials feel they're entitled to everything - college, job, advancement, vacation - without demonstrating that they've earned them
Al Cd No they don't. Everyone keeps saying that yet I've yet meet one that actually believes that besides the free college. I really don't see why college shouldn't be reduced.
"It looks like one of the questions is 'What does America mean to you?', what kind of answer were you looking for?" "You know, the irony of this test is it's not even so much about the answers, it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that. I want some hardcore Americans, people who are proud to be American." Then it *is* about the answer, isn't it.
I think he is saying that he doesn't care what the answer is as long as it's along the lines of them liking America and not being some person who hates everything America stands for and such.
Which means that it *is* about the answer, then, and he should just own up to what he's doing. It's ideological screening. I don't have an inherent problem with it, but be honest about what you're doing.
@Avicenna - Actually, Kyle misused "irony" when he made that comment. Definition of irony; "the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect"; "a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result." So, rather than saying "irony", Kyle should have said the "purpose" of the tests is not even so much the answers. Kyle also contradicts himself, as in the begging of the video he makes mention of "you young activists" in a way that was speak down of young activists and making fun of them. Then he says of the questions..."it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that". So, he wants someone who has the conviction to "stand by that" or stand for something. I guess it is only okay if they stand for the same things he does.
@SoloLysander yep. And then that he has to disguise his ideological test in this kind of "it's not about the answers" language shows that he doesn't actually have the conviction to stand behind what he believes in without subterfuge. Now *that*'s irony, wouldn'tcha say?
My wife worked for a company that gave up on interviewing millennials because they were so entitled and making demands during the interviews, this is a much better method there are good millennials out there ya just gotta weed through them, besides aren't we partially to blame, we allowed the destruction of their education system.
Entitlement isn't the same as making demands. In an interview is the time to make clear the things both parties require, that's capitalism. If your damn good in your field of work you can be demanding and should ask for money, benefits or any requirements.
naiasonod that's a cute opinion. And it really doesn't go anywhere. "Intolerant snowflakes" is what you complain about. But they at least are productive. You on the other hand, have no stance on anything.
naiasonod no you're right, if I had said you were a very lovely man at first, then you would fall head over heels into giving me your daughter for marriage.
I’d work with him. He seems like he believes businesses should actually make money. Plus he’s being honest about what he wants and that makes things a hell of a lot easier.
I would work with him, but absolutely not for him. He does not sound like a great boss to me. Guess I am a snowflake. I am fine with that. Then again to be fair, the US work ethic is rather different and extreme. So maybe you guys over there simply love this stuff. I prefer to have pre-agreed vacation time (and not dependent on whatever some dude believe I did a good enough job to enjoy some free time) and not overwork myself for someone else his business and net worth. I actually have other things to do that would benefit myself instead of someone else.
The ignorance of the host having to link everything to politics. Lol not everything is about politics! The man just want to sort out applicants aligned with his company’s views and values! He simply doesnt want employees who whine a lot and not do anything about it.
Um I seem to remember the people actually admitting that so. You're point is what? So the people that point that out are what exactly? Maybe you're delusional because anyone who tries to run me over with a car is an enemy. If you believe otherwise, then you need to re-examine your definition of the term friend.
And why would you even want to work there lol? If you were an actual snowflake and lied your way into a position, I doubt you'd last long. You'd be surrounded by people who believe in accountability and personal responsibility. They don't have safe spaces.
You won't last long if you lie your way into a position. It won't take long for them to see you for who you really are and they will kick your can to the curb.
Karl Urban speaking from experience, you're flat wrong. That's called "being adaptable" - the company doesn't care who you are. Give them what they want without breaking the law and you'll be rewarded. On fact, it's the fastest way to get promoted. Y the time anyone bothers to look closely, no one will care.
He needs to fine-tune his questions. Agree with some of his points, but some of the questions are only weeding out candidates with certain political views (especially the gun question). You could still hate guns, have a good work ethic, and make his company money. Diversity of viewpoints in the work force is not a bad thing. It appears that he is trying to fill his company with right-wingers who worship guys like our current president. It's his right as a business owner, but only having certain types of people around you will limit creativity, discourage discussions from different viewpoints, and limit growth. It is kind of like High School kids hanging around their clique of friends who think exactly like them.
The google response is technically off topic to the video. However, it was a GOP controlled government that ended net neutrality. This would allow Google to show political bias even more, if even proven to be true. You now may have to bribe Google and others to get the same bandwidth you were guaranteed under Obama's policy. Sometimes liberal policies protect freedom of speech and peoples rights, like minimum wage, the 40 hour week, and banning of underage child labor in the workforce.
It doesn't matter if you're not a fan of guns, but it matters how you answer it. Non-snowflake answer, "They're not for me." Snowflake answer, "I don't think people need guns."
This is spot on. As a small business owner, I cannot find worthy employees and have considered making a more education based survey to weed out applicants
When you have to put your name in front of an employees work ethic you will reconsider your opinion, it’s not always a matter a compensation. You can pay a person over what they are worth but it still won’t make them a better candidate
I volunteered with the VA hospital in Montrose. One of the oldest residents who we lost about two years ago was a nurse in WWII. Let me set the stage: *Finished school a week ago *Sent to Normandy the night before D-Day Her first day? Picking up hands, arms, and legs of our soldiers who stormed the beach Safe space? Mental health day? Therapy dogs and play-dough after an election? we also didn't have a bullshit platform where every 2 cent , armchair philosopher can post their dribble back then either..... also looking at a white woman then meant getting beat up. whats my point? whats your point? time was different, times change, not always for better, but please.... just shut the fuck up already
Ive been doing that around here, It throws some managers for a loop. All the time " you know we only accept applications online" "I know, I just wanted to introduce myself in person and not over the computer" The look of confusion is entertaining.
@@tanith117 Unfortunately, it probably goes against you. They probably think you are pushy or confrontational. I wouldn't have done, but i'm in my sixties.
15 year ago, turn up somewhere and ask for a job and its instant brownie points, show of motivation. Do that today it'll be " they turned up at my office, i want them done for harrasment" 😂
I am 54 years old, so not from the younger, so-called ''entitled'' generation, and I have a list of questions that I take with me to interviews, that my potential employer must please answer. I'm tired of an interview being a one way street, you interview me, and I interview you, and we can both assess each other. Not surprisingly, interviewers are a bit shirty over answering a list of my questions - none of which are unreasonable or cheeky, by the way.
" none of which are unreasonable or cheeky, by the way." Yeah, sure! :D Normal businesses expect people to ask them questions at interviews, especially if it's more than simple "Flip burgers"-jobs. If the interviewers you've been talking to get "shirty", then it's because your questions are either ridiculous, or showing off a sense of entitlement that you haven't earned the right to have yet.
For years I used to research prospective employers to see if I'd be a fit. I, too, always had a list of several questions I hadn't been able to find answers to and there were generally a few points which came up during the interview where I wanted clarification. I completely agree that an interview needs to be a 2-way street. If it isn't then you risk becoming a company doormat in some firms
She didn't. She's a Fox reporter, she's on his side, she's just asking him a question like an interviewer should, asking him the hard ones that anyone could throw his way.
I am a baby boomer. Millennials don’t let big business intimidate you. It is an unspoken effort they use to manipulate and exploit you. You have a lot of good qualities and some room for improvement also, just like previous generations. Ask the older generation about abuse to women, not being inclusive, not socially connected, long hair, subsidized college loans,
If you ever start or buy a business with employees, you're going to learn very quickly how much they really cost you(Hint:What you pay them per hour is only the beginning),also add in what they cost you in lost customers, frustration, anger and lost sleep,I've been both employee and owner,as an employee,I had NO CLUE what being an owner meant
Oh I know. It's why turnover can be held over an employers head. I work with good bosses and fight bad ones; bad ones invariably got there by resume, good ones typically built themselves. And I don't give a shit if you think I am entitled. To continue living is to be entitled, ponder on that for a while.
*Mi nk* if you despise human beings so much, have you considered automation, or changing your business model so you can treat your employees fairly? It sounds like you started with insufficient capital, or made a poor choice in business. Remember that most startups _by far_ need to fail in order to keep wealth more adequately distributed, since our current fiscal state prefers natural wealth redistribution than state policies. (Otherwise capitalist markets end like Monopoly, where few people owning everything and no-one liking anyone very much.) So your company will do society a greater service if it goes under than if it becomes profitable. And if you think it's appropriate to underpay and disregard your employees, maybe that's for the best.
@ Andy Mackin- Its a lot smarter to actually have RESPECT for your job and employer! I have a small landscaping company, the vast majority of helpers i have put up with had no work ethic and no skills, not even being able to use a rake or snow shovel! AND I even gave them a break paying them cash at the end of the day! That goes with even older people who still cannot get their shit together!
Gerry Persowich Yes... have employed so many that are hopeless... believed in them and they then turn around and chose to remain useless even though they actually have ability. Currently learning new tools to figure out how to get them going.
WTF is with people in the comment suction saying he doesn’t want entitled people in his company because he’s entitled. He’s not he just doesn’t want people thinking that his company owes them something just because they work for him. That they’re entitled to anything from his company. The only thing you are entitled to is the pay you get for the work you do that’s it.
To be honest, it's his private company he made himself, he should be able to do whatever he wants when he wants. If I had a company, I wouldn't want any slackers, I would only keep the ones who work hard, it's called being professional.
The employees are owed whatever they and the company have ironed out as compensation for their work. Nothing more and nothing less, and only so long as they continue to work. Likewise the company is only owed a days work from the employee for a days pay. Its a reasonable arrangement.
As a member of "the snowflake" generation THANK YOU!!! I think people of my generation do not want to work hard and do not want to take a risk. I work hard every day to make a difference in my company and my community and it take's a lot of effort. It is so rewarding.
Pssst, Kay. If you use an apostrophe to form a present tense verb or a plural noun, Kyle will not hire you. It is never too late to sharpen your grammar and usage skills. Best of luck, now get on it 🙂
@@laissezfaire9762 It was likely a google keyboard fix....but why would you wait 3 years to be snarky? Since then, I became a C suite person. Hard work does pay off.
FYI, a simple measure of the number of hours worked survey from ADP systems will demonstrate that the number of hours worked by individuals between the ages 21 and 34 (considered millennials) is higher than it has ever been in the past 30 years. Data and facts, and not self serving statements from those promoting themselves, should direct our understanding of the world.
Kapil Chhabria I have a millennial co worker. He may clock in and show up to work. But actually doing the job and not playing on his phone/fluffing the bosses ego all day is another story.
I don't think you can set the bar at "reasonable" for fox news, or the guy with the silly survey. Probably not a bad guy, but balls deep in his confirmation bias and generalisations by the sound of it. "Agree with me or get out". That kinda sounds like... A snowflake? Best wishes to him regardless. Most people hopefully realise work performance and work-ethic is what matters here, not what you write on your ballot.
Kapil Chhabria Millennials work harder (when they do work), not SMARTER. Volume doesn't mean efficiency--quantity doesn't mean quality. You'd better learn that.
That's right, because Millennials are less experienced than their older co-workers. I worked harder, less smarter in my 20s than I do now. So what? Anyone who can learn how to be more efficient will.
Conservatives are too stupid to make an educated test, everyone can hear the dog whistle tactics these days. He even referred to simple grammar as if it were complicated knowledge to have obtained in life and these questions sound pretty elementary. Republicans are pretty simple in the brain though.
I've been on interviews like this. When they start asking these types of questions I ask if they want to talk about my qualifications and the job. If they insist on continuing with these questions I cut the interview short. I tell them I don't think I'll fit in, I thank them for their time and leave. I don't think that makes me a snowflake. By the way I've been employed since I graduated college 34 years ago so don't start with the sitting in my parents basement stuff.
When you go into a job interview with a company you’re supposed to support the company’s ideas. I don’t see anything wrong in trying to find the perfect fit for his company.
Not everyone has the luxury to pick and choose companies to work for. When most employment inquiries go unanswered, you take what you can get. Which is why people are so miserable at their jobs.
"I want people with an entrepreneurial mindset." Basically saying: "I want people who will work their asses off for minimum wage while I line my pockets with fat stacks." Let freedom ring.
katanakeith gen x. I've worked for people like this dude though. They are the entitled ones who want to reap the rewards of other people's hard work while giving the workers nothing. I don't condone injustice.
Thank you, I agree that it's earned, it is indeed not inherent. Next thing they'll be saying is that the earth is flat, ... oh yea, people do say that... for some there is no hope.
I would say to me a privilege is something, no matter how you obtained it, that you should cherish, be grateful for, and never take for granted because a privilege is not a right and can be taken away.
I think this should be a standard part of employment....I worked in a career for 33 years and then these young people come in and think they deserve the same wage that took me years to get so yeah this will definitely weed out people....GOOD JOB Kyle!!
You may support this company, but, you will never work for this company. If they want somebody to be able to spell basic words, they are going to want that person to use periods at the end of sentences, as well.
I was hoping watch stuff would catch that. None of the sentence checkers on the web did before I commented. And the other ones were just a bit to chew on.
I love the way he handled her trying to steer the questions to a right/left with us against us schtick. Just stuck to his ideal of work ethic vs. entitlement. Well played sir!
Yea, there is a problem. Doesnt necessarily mean his method is effective. I'd personally snap if a kid who i was interviewing would answer the 3rd question. Well, unless he made a joke out of it. But im sure there are people who would debase themselves by telling a stranger the sad story of how they shed tears when a relative died. My god, would you want to hear that? Underlings already often force one to listen to so many retarded excuses. Ive had once a dude beg me for an advance on his pay claiming his parents died. They did not. Years have passed and i still cannot get over my disgust for that man.
We have people calling off on their first day on the job. I so want to fire these people on the spot, but no we need to write them up over and over in order to prevent them from collecting unemployment. It's ridiculous
@@bkpickell. Maybe it's your culture. In Australia I see young people working every day in low paid jobs and enduring abuse and humiliation from ungrateful people
A word, their parents have failed them, the schools have failed them, higher education has failed them, and now society has failed them. Listen, my niece is 23and her parents saved money from the time they knew she was on her way, so, stop crying about having to pay for your own education, take it up with your parents who clearly failed you, not societys fault. Snowflakes , listen, get a job, pay for a collage education in a state school, its much more affordable, and, furthermore, my niece is working for a collage that paid for her masters degree! Her parents only had to pay $350.00 for books, so, see, there are ways to pay for collage, just explore avenues available to you, not just looking for others to pay your way! Where there's a will, there's a way.
College grads not knowing the difference between 'they're, their, and there' shows what colleges and public education has become. Focused on filling impressionable young minds with a certain political viewpoint instead of teaching critical thinking and basics. Teachers and professors should have to sign a neutrality clause as in they'll stick to curriculum instead of political indoctrination.
WE ALL NOW THEYRE GONNA ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THE WAY THERE PARENTS TAUGHT THEM. THEIR IS A RIGHT AND WRONG ANSWER TO SOME OF THESE QUESTIONS....................................LOL
If college kids can't tell the difference between they're, their , and there than blame the crap US public education system rather than the universities. Universities aren't suppose to teach "the basics" those are suppose to be taught in grade school.
That thing about "last time you cried" bit is asking for someone to start a lawsuit because of discrimination on the grounds of mental ailment, specifically depression in this case.
I kinda like this approach. After starting my own business (from nothing) I too know that the work ethic is often more valuable than many so-called "skills". Getting ahead is about attitude. Many CEO's of big corporations started out as the office gofer, sweeping the floor and making coffee. And they showed their worth by having the right attitude.
The irony: (Just read the comments) Filled with snowflakes & liberals who are upset about this guy, but don't take my word for it, take a look for yourself.
James Thacker : You're using words wrong. He's not upset, bent out of shape or worked up. Triggered, meltdowns, SJW's, snowflakes are not terms associated with Conservatives & Republicans as are relaxed, cool, calm and can properly articulate a rebuttal.
James Thacker - Oh, so now being upset with the many entitled, narcissistic children in adults' bodies entering the workforce constitutes a "snowflake". Funny, his grievances sound quite justified.
Krytern UK said a person with so little intelligence they cant infer anything. No you cant teach intelligence smart ass. You can teach people to be more intellectual which you clearly need
catbloc No fucking people who complain about every little fucking thing they can. They are also entitled as *fuck* They feel they should have certain things when in reality they don't.
catbloc ha, you're the one calling him entitled when you think that _anyone_ is entitled to work at his company. There is nothing stopping you or anyone else from opening up your own company and compete against him. If he doesn't want to work with you then you are entitled to think he has to bend over backwards for you.
That's an absolutely a genius way to filter out workers that might unionize or make requests to their employer. The working class has to know its place and be grateful for the opportunity to serve us, otherwise they hate America.
I’m pretty sure there are A LOT of non “snowflakes “ who don’t know the difference between your and you’re, there, their and they’re. That is not a snowflake thing.
No but it is a professionalism thing. The difference between there, their, and they're is 1st grade English. If you don't know that, you have no place in the business world.
I want this man as my boss. I could not ask for a better boss to be honest. I don't even care if I start off at minimum wage. This is an American right here.
As my Mother said to us (her children) all while we grew up "If you do not work , you do not eat" and it did not take many times (where she would enforce this rule) for this point to hit home with us.
No it makes him nervous alt right trump worshiper. I am on the opposite side of the isle of this guy politically. I work 3 jobs and always get positive reviews by my employers for being a hard worker. He's just a troll with power like trump.
franklin I would fail this guys test miserably. None of his questions have any weight on privilege what so ever. He is strictly complaining about anyone left leaning at all. I work for everything I have. I work my ass off for nearly 16 hours a day 6 to 7 days a week. This ceo doesn't know what he is talking about. He is a snowflake that is limiting himself on who he hires. I hire people who are both conservative and liberal. And guess what, I just had to fire someone who is conservative because he couldn't show up to work on time. Does that mean I should label all conservatives as lazy? No, just that one individual because I understand that everyone is different on a person by person basis.
I personally have never had a problem finding and keeping work; never been accused of being a snowflake. But you would not find me working for this man. 1) He must be in a niche that allows him to be this choosy. If there were a shortage of workers, as there are in some markets, sometimes you have to hire those you may not align with. Things could be reversed, and if there was a shortage of jobs, working for this man may be someone's only option. He seems blind to the fact that he is not in control of the labor market. 2) His tactics border on a form of manipulation that you find with those offering those free seminars on how to get rich. In exchange for accepting whatever demeaning, low wage work that he is offering, he gives you a pat on the back, encouraging you that you are such a good non-entitled person for coming and working for him. Truly humble, patriotic, and American. Work for him if you need work. Don't work for him just to prove to someone that you have noble character traits.
He got uninvited to speak at a high school, then complained that he was told "everybody's opinion matters and everyone's perspective matters." Seems like a double standard to me.
Please please please open a branch here in the UK. I so want to work for this guy. Knows what he wants in a employee and isn't afraid of political correctness getting the way.
Skullfuxxor Nah I'm just pointing out that this is hilariously ironic. He is nothing more than a snowflake himself, as he uses these answers to make a safe space for himself, where he doesn't have to listen to anyone else's views
I like what he's doing No in fact I loved it but the fact that he said you have to support the police in order to work for him is ridiculous no one trust the police as long as they police themselves no one ever will
Idk, asking shit like “When was the last time you cried?” sounds like an oddly personal question to ask. Imagine getting that question on an application, you’d think it was a prank xD
The heroism of the coward at war remains a private virtue by precisely one-half. His dishonor by his fellows is claimed at one-half too, by luck. Those hesistant to blame, why, there's always drink.
Martin D ... Can you speak in a way that is understandable? Wtf does "the heroism of the coward at war remains a private virtue by precisely one-half" even mean?
When you isolate yourself over personal opinions in the name of “nationalism” it makes you very kooky. Republicans bury themselves worse than Democrats.
So if I am hiring and have a traitor test targeted at conservatives would that be ok? I bet you would be pissing your panties screaming about how it is unfair. Well snowflake liberals pay for your welfare and here is something else to remember, the young who are the future are liberal and are taking over as old conservative traitors finally begin to die off.
If "snowflake liberals" were truly "paying for my welfare," then I'd be in deep trouble (had I not already put aside capital, you know, for my *own* welfare), because they're currently not contributing much to the economy. Personally, I don't mind if a company asks questions "targeted" at a particular group - I try not to think in black-and-white terms; I have some views which would be considered "liberal," and some "conservative" - because if a company has particular views that I'd be expected to support were I hired, I'd appreciate knowing that in advance, so I can choose as to whether I'd like to apply there, or not.
He is being honest. Applicants these days have a sense of entitlement. I applaud him for not bowing down to the PC crowd who are telling us how to behave.
I understand he wants people with a strong sense of work ethic and the willingness to earn it, but these are not the questions that would yield that. I have met some pretty manipulative people who would pass his test but actually do operate from a sense of entitlement and not Customer focus. Hopefully he will learn how to interview to hire the best folks for the job someday. This approach isn’t it.
Diya C I have to agree as well. I think you have to look at these people and interview them. People can say whatever they want to get in. But I kind of feel like this guy is trolling and comes off as a dick. I agree you want hard working people but you need people who can understand and communicate with people as a customer service representative or just working with people. I did like he cares more about the responses. But who knows
Diya C - Absolutely. Any business that doesn't hire the best people for the job, regardless of race, gender or political leanings, doesn't deserve to be in business for very long. In the UK, and much of Europe, such behaviour would be illegal because we've evolved as a society while the United States seems to be regressing.
The fact that only Fox News thinks this is a laudable achievement speaks volumes about this guy and his business. This CEO has already shown his stupidity by publicly acknowledging a bias against people who don't necessarily think of themselves as "Americans" first and foremost... Let's be honest, he's looking for hard-core "patriotic" conservatives -- liberals need not apply. I say "stupid" because by publicly acknowledging his bias, he has hurt his business, because any potential clients who see this and feel like they're on the wrong end of his litmus test will treat him the same way and hire his competition. So, years from now, all he will have are like-minded staff and like-minded clients... a recipe for a non-discrimination lawsuit if ever I heard one. Then the final nail will be when his client list is made public and there is some connection with a known hate group or other criminals, which he will be unable to dismiss as random if all of his clients share the same "mindset".
"non-discrimination lawsuit" Based on what? Political ideology is not a protected status. Discrimination isn't necessarily a bad thing either. You just think because there's discrimination it must be bad.
His customers are from the same group he is trying to hire, so of course, he is weeding out those that don't fit.He is not in business to inovate his company is in a service position.
This was pretty smart. Easy way to get workers. Honestly stop complaining about the test guys it was just an extremely clever way to get more worker ants. If they already feel loyal to the company they will be really good workers and not complain when they could or should. Brilliant idea hats off to you sir
He can do what he want and if you want to have a test that shows if people have similar values to the company and yourself, then sure, all I’m gonna say is be up front. Don’t say “It doesn’t matter how you answer” and then follow it up with “if the answer is no, you don’t need a job with us.” According to him he is just looking for people to make their answer and stand by it, yet it seems like even if they were to have solid reasoning, if that answer wasn’t his answer, you’re out. Which again, is fine, but don’t make it seem like this test is anything more than a pass/fail based on your answers.
I cried when Scar killed Simbas father in the Lion King. I was 10 years old. I also cry when I see things that remind me of my time in the service. I also cry every time I pick up my Remmington 870 tactical 14 shotgun. That's my baby.
I've been an HR recruiter and I can tell you that I would have a few choice questions for HIM during the interview. I seriously doubt the viability of his recruiting methods, not to mention the quality of the workforce he hires.
Here in Australia sick leave isnt an SJW thing. Or even a left wing thing. It's a bipartisan issue ingrained in our culture. If it triggers you that we like this policy over here then you need to calm down and breathe maybe. This CEO seems triggered by opinions he disagrees with. Perhaps he is as much of a snowflake as an sjw?
More companies should do what this man is doing. If you are not willing to work for the things you want in life I personally have no time to deal with you.
wayne lewis Urgh you right wing zombies really try hard to ruin the name of America. I'm German and when I think of America, I think of liberal democracy, not a bunch of zealous, obnoxious hillbillies.
Yes, that's the spirit. Hopefully companies will ask more anti-snowflake questions in the future and perhaps the SJW disease will be cured. Liberals are a cancer and trump will probably get re-elected in 2020 so the future seems bright.
Woah woah. Careful with terms like gas lighting. That is too complicated for this sort of crowd. Next you will be throwing around words like obfuscate.
Unfortunately, I work for a nonprofit where I still don't get vacation or paid days off. They hired me as a contract worker so they don't have to withhold taxes, provide worker's comp, etc. I had to answer a series of questions to retain my job and when asked what motivates me in my job I simply answered my clients. I work with individuals with intellectual disabilities and with no benefits, only 2 raises, and 11 directors in 16 years what else could I say. Yes, I've worked there for 16 years.
As a 52yo hard-working male who absolutely does not have a sense of entitlement and has worked hard to acheive what I have, I definitley agree with the fundamentals of what he's saying (especially the examples he provided and calling out the behaviours of the current generation) but there is also an 'extreme' to this mind-set. I've seen managers over the years who are so obsessed with this. These are the types who 'have to' be the first into work and the last ones to leave, to set the example that a) they are hard workers but b) this is what they expect from employees - the "if I can do it, then you 'should' do it" approach - that no-one could possibly be better than they are. I call these managers the Dave Harkens of the world.
Nationalism is a supremacy. The belief that your country is great and the best is not a good look. It's a racist point of view and research has shown that it is the result of low IQ. We can't blame those with low IQ that are easily brainwashed by government and other forms of authority, but we can help them learn that nationalism is not okay.
I think people need to say "patriot" instead. I don't consider the U.S. population to be genetically superior to others in the world, but I love my country, think it does a lot of good for the rest of the world, and am proud of our system of government (while hating politicians).
Man, this is the worst Onion skit skit ever :( I really like the Onion, but their skits have been declining in quality recently. Can you guys tell me what kind of snowflake I am based on the diameter/likeness to Roger Ailes' decaying body? I'd rate a 9 out of 11 because the details are suspicious and require further investigation (hence why I've come to outsource this question to the faithful followers of FOX). My attempts at making a painting out of love-juice would make Roy Moore blush, but I did it on an easel rather than a 13-year-old girl so I don't think he would approve. EDIT: Shit, I just realized this is a video made in earnest by FOX. Now I can laugh again.
Also, just because Roy Moore lost to Doug Jones in the AL election, doesn't mean he didn't diddle kids. If this is partisanship over someone's right to not get diddled by the powerful rapist, then I'm sorry, but that's not me being a snowflake, that's Republicans being morally deaf. Your American Hitler and his faithful cabal of Scooby Doo villains is really distracting the media from any further investigation. So be glad about that. We wouldn't the truth to come out now would we?
Matter of fact, I worked for a company that enjoyed a continued growth rate during my tenure as COO of 20.75% per annum extended over 12 years in that position. It grossed sales in the billions for the last 6 of those years and never filed any form of bankruptcy. So, who's f*cking sad now?

A decade ago, it would have been a joke story; now it's legitimate. Millennials feel they're entitled to everything - college, job, advancement, vacation - without demonstrating that they've earned them
Al Cd No they don't. Everyone keeps saying that yet I've yet meet one that actually believes that besides the free college. I really don't see why college shouldn't be reduced.
Baby Boomers weren't the types to expect landing a job with a "Lesbian Dance Theory" degree or a living wage with a shitty burger flipping job.
"It looks like one of the questions is 'What does America mean to you?', what kind of answer were you looking for?"
"You know, the irony of this test is it's not even so much about the answers, it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that. I want some hardcore Americans, people who are proud to be American."
Then it *is* about the answer, isn't it.
@avicenna - Exactly. His questions are done in deception and deceit, which is a glaring sign of his narcissistic and "control freak" personality.
My wife worked for a company that gave up on interviewing millennials because they were so entitled and making demands during the interviews, this is a much better method there are good millennials out there ya just gotta weed through them, besides aren't we partially to blame, we allowed the destruction of their education system.
I think they should be entitled to spankings to get their head on straight while in school and at home.
Funny that you mentioned weed.
Dave except this test is just weeding out people with different political views.
I am partly to blame for sure. I never had kids, but I paid a bunch of taxes to "educate" other people's kids.
Entitlement isn't the same as making demands. In an interview is the time to make clear the things both parties require, that's capitalism. If your damn good in your field of work you can be demanding and should ask for money, benefits or any requirements.
I keep finding that the biggest whiny, intolerant 'snowflakes' are the ones complaining about others being snowflakes.

I’d work with him. He seems like he believes businesses should actually make money. Plus he’s being honest about what he wants and that makes things a hell of a lot easier.
If his business is making money, my chance to continue to have a job there also continues. Sounds good to me.
Better a honest enemy from the front rather than a smiling backstabber standing by your side or worse, at your back.
Ciappio Homestead of course businesses have to make money. What the hell are you talking about?
I would work with him, but absolutely not for him. He does not sound like a great boss to me. Guess I am a snowflake. I am fine with that. Then again to be fair, the US work ethic is rather different and extreme. So maybe you guys over there simply love this stuff. I prefer to have pre-agreed vacation time (and not dependent on whatever some dude believe I did a good enough job to enjoy some free time) and not overwork myself for someone else his business and net worth. I actually have other things to do that would benefit myself instead of someone else.

Maybe you're delusional because anyone who tries to run me over with a car is an enemy. If you believe otherwise, then you need to re-examine your definition of the term friend.
Having a sense of entitlement has absolutely nothing at all to do with being neither left nor right.
Dude this is easy: As soon as I find out what this employers political stands are, I answer them accordingly.
Christian Rupprechter, if you are smart enough to do that, than you are already better than a snowflake.
Yeah, stance.
Non-snowflake answer, "They're not for me."
Snowflake answer, "I don't think people need guns."

Entitlement is a mind set, not a political point of view. I know many Dems and Repubs who could easily pass this test.

" none of which are unreasonable or cheeky, by the way."
Yeah, sure!
So, it's been a few months - you find a job yet?
For years I used to research prospective employers to see if I'd be a fit. I, too, always had a list of several questions I hadn't been able to find answers to and there were generally a few points which came up during the interview where I wanted clarification. I completely agree that an interview needs to be a 2-way street. If it isn't then you risk becoming a company doormat in some firms
I have done the reverse interview many times.

Oh yes... I had no idea when I was young... as I got older and as a business owner I had no idea how stupid young people are.

But you don't work. lol
Spot on as they say in the UK !
It's cause the questions aren't related to that at all.
As a member of "the snowflake" generation THANK YOU!!! I think people of my generation do not want to work hard and do not want to take a risk. I work hard every day to make a difference in my company and my community and it take's a lot of effort. It is so rewarding.

Data and facts, and not self serving statements from those promoting themselves, should direct our understanding of the world.

Most people hopefully realise work performance and work-ethic is what matters here, not what you write on your ballot.
Kapil, because there's more of them... Derp. Control for population differences.

Not everyone has the luxury to pick and choose companies to work for. When most employment inquiries go unanswered, you take what you can get. Which is why people are so miserable at their jobs.

There is a lack of consistency in the way this man speaks. I wish he would formulate his answers better and stand by that.

Krytern UK said a person with so little intelligence they cant infer anything. No you cant teach intelligence smart ass. You can teach people to be more intellectual which you clearly need
Haha it’s not a test to find and hire snowflakes it’s to weed them out to find the intelligent, critical thinkers.
The ironic thing is, his company website has snowflake written all over it. Lmao.
The comment section for this video proves why he is right to administer the snowflake test.
catbloc No its the entitlted, whiny, unmotivated people that the test is for.
chefdan87 exactly!😀😀😀
catbloc Are you blind? Because there are a shit ton of people like that. Like really?
catbloc No fucking people who complain about every little fucking thing they can.
Totally agree with Mr. Reyes, You are entitled to nothing, you have to work to get what you want out of life.
I’m pretty sure there are A LOT of non “snowflakes “ who don’t know the difference between your and you’re, there, their and they’re. That is not a snowflake thing.
Mostly, it is.
He doesn't want them either.
no it's not a snowflake thing, it's a proof of our failed educational system thing
No but it is a professionalism thing. The difference between there, their, and they're is 1st grade English. If you don't know that, you have no place in the business world.
He doesnt want dumbasses, idiot!
I want this man as my boss. I could not ask for a better boss to be honest. I don't even care if I start off at minimum wage. This is an American right here.
NovusIgnis from what he's saying, he'll apparently fire you if you ask for sick leave tho
As my Mother said to us (her children) all while we grew up "If you do not work , you do not eat" and it did not take many times (where she would enforce this rule) for this point to hit home with us.
Says the boomer whose retired while the rest of us young pple watch our jobs become automated u forget u dont get paid unless we have money
About time. No snowflakes, GOD BLESS YOU SIR.
By him whining and complaining about bad employees. Does that not make him a snowflake?
right?
NO, IT MAKES HIM A SMART BUSSINES MAN.
No it makes him nervous alt right trump worshiper. I am on the opposite side of the isle of this guy politically. I work 3 jobs and always get positive reviews by my employers for being a hard worker. He's just a troll with power like trump.
Also, yes he is currently whining about bad employees in national television.
franklin I would fail this guys test miserably.
The old jump-how-high is underappreciated.
His company, his standards. If Google can have their own leftist criteria, he is entitled to have his own. There is no problem with that.
I normally like fox news, but she was a terrible interviewer XD
She's strange.
She’s offended and in the process of melting.
She's one of the people he wouldn't hire.
Kamikaze Yamamoto read the entire comment.
she was playing devil's advocate you dumb-asses ~
Every job should have this questionnaire. That guy is awesome.
Hope his business is thriving 👍
Please please please open a branch here in the UK. I so want to work for this guy. Knows what he wants in a employee and isn't afraid of political correctness getting the way.
The leftist crybabys are out in force in this comment section. This guy is the man.
Skullfuxxor Nah I'm just pointing out that this is hilariously ironic. He is nothing more than a snowflake himself, as he uses these answers to make a safe space for himself, where he doesn't have to listen to anyone else's views
I'm crying for you, troll
I like what he's doing No in fact I loved it but the fact that he said you have to support the police in order to work for him is ridiculous no one trust the police as long as they police themselves no one ever will
Jt Munn how come people don't trust police in US? You have to call them for help if something bad happens. I trust them and firemen to respond
Waqas, bam 💥 you're on point.
Idk, asking shit like “When was the last time you cried?” sounds like an oddly personal question to ask. Imagine getting that question on an application, you’d think it was a prank xD
His reason for asking is why. He doesn't care why brought cried...he wants to see your thought process ....
I had an interviewer bark at me. He said I sounded to much like a salesman. Isn't the job of a resume to sell you to the company?
I would rather be given this questionnaire than the multiple choice personality survey (that I failed) on the Darden restaurants waitress application.
Nationalism, when you're talking about Freedom, is never kooky.
Except nationalism never ends well for freedom, does it?
The heroism of the coward at war remains a private virtue by precisely one-half. His dishonor by his fellows is claimed at one-half too, by luck. Those hesistant to blame, why, there's always drink.
Martin D
... Can you speak in a way that is understandable? Wtf does "the heroism of the coward at war remains a private virtue by precisely one-half" even mean?
Sean L 👍🏽🇺🇸❤️
When you isolate yourself over personal opinions in the name of “nationalism” it makes you very kooky. Republicans bury themselves worse than Democrats.
This needs to be asked every job.
So if I am hiring and have a traitor test targeted at conservatives would that be ok? I bet you would be pissing your panties screaming about how it is unfair. Well snowflake liberals pay for your welfare and here is something else to remember, the young who are the future are liberal and are taking over as old conservative traitors finally begin to die off.
how are conservatives traitors? that doesn't even make sense
I just found a Douchebag test. It's called, "If Fox News calls you. You're a Douche."
Diya C I hear what you are saying, but you aren’t speaking on national TV. So as the marketing guy, he’s accomplishing much more than everyone here!
Diya C - I believe he said this was used to screen applicants. The ones that pass the screen would still have to pass an interview.
Do you even know what discrimination is? Maybe you should read a dictionary and come back to the adult table when you don't come off so ignorant.
"non-discrimination lawsuit"
Based on what? Political ideology is not a protected status. Discrimination isn't necessarily a bad thing either. You just think because there's discrimination it must be bad.
His customers are from the same group he is trying to hire, so of course, he is weeding out those that don't fit.He is not in business to inovate his company is in a service position.
I agree that his conservative mentality isn't really smart of his part.
What does "when was the last time you cried?" have anything to do with entitlement?
Exactly. You could just be an emotional person, but that doesn't mean you're a... ugh... snowflake
But then again, wouldn't crying when trump won just be classified as loving your country?
jeanchristophegatien nope.
NorthSouthGaming ! Stop being a whiney bitch
Ok 👌
NorthSouthGaming ! Least masculine job? You're really resching there buddy....
HR imo is always part of the problem. get rid of or significantly reduce the HR workforce.
HR departments are a pathetic joke who do little of anything other than try to justify their useless positions.
Love that guy and his survey. I see his company making money and being successful.
This is genius marketing at work. I laughed out loud when I saw his company was a marketing company.
I would love to work for a company like that. That is a CEO I can respect.
Show up to my company in Sydney and say your sick without a doctor's note I'm gonna fire you m8
More companies should do what this man is doing. If you are not willing to work for the things you want in life I personally have no time to deal with you.
Every single company is doing this. He hasnt invented anything.
"Can you understand instructions in Chinese" is the only question needed.
If I wasn't so old, I'd submit a resume. An American company run by a true American. Bless you, sir!
A comment by a true moron!
wayne lewis
Urgh you right wing zombies really try hard to ruin the name of America.
I'm German and when I think of America, I think of liberal democracy, not a bunch of zealous, obnoxious hillbillies.
True American lol, he doesn’t look native? Are you even native?
Yes, that's the spirit. Hopefully companies will ask more anti-snowflake questions in the future and perhaps the SJW disease will be cured. Liberals are a cancer and trump will probably get re-elected in 2020 so the future seems bright.
Nice bit of free PR, mixed with a decent slice of gas lighting. No wonder he's grinning like a Cheshire 🐈.
Well, he is in marketing. Selling nickel plated B.S. is his business.
Woah woah. Careful with terms like gas lighting. That is too complicated for this sort of crowd. Next you will be throwing around words like obfuscate.
Okay that was fucking funny.
Are there any other iron heads out there that notice there is NO way this guy is benching 495! Not even the dude standing up.
Nationalist= proud of ones country.
So YES I'm a Nationalist.
no one thinks it's weird hiring based on political views? no one?
Nope-- should it be? Seriously, if I own a company and don't want troublemakers on the payroll, I don't hire liberals. Simple problem solved.
Business works.... cool CEO....knows what kind of applicants make business work...Refreshing
Since when is 'nationalist' a bad thing?
I mean, there's no journalistic integrity to speak of in this video. So, it was an honest mistake. But, that might just be me being a snowflake.
Still alive and traumatized by Roy Moore's terrible actions?
And they're honoring a guy who has two failed companies in his past.
Matter of fact, I worked for a company that enjoyed a continued growth rate during my tenure as COO of 20.75% per annum extended over 12 years in that position. It grossed sales in the billions for the last 6 of those years and never filed any form of bankruptcy. So, who's f*cking sad now?
Just the type of employer I always wanted.
Amazed that I only saw this today. Great video.
