Georgian shepherd, colled by russians as caucasian shepherd dog, is endemic breed of georgian mountains for defender sheeps against wolves. Wery smart, brave and strong dog.
This is a pure breed in the Georgian shepherd, and no-one try to forge. This breed of dog originating in the eastern Mtianeti and no-one believe that the Caucasus. Asiuri variety which is called the Russians because they want it destroyed Georgian
@explodeish Yeah i've seen him before. And he seems small. But has really big head and bones.Though i dont think hes 104 kg max 90kg.And why doesn't he have more fur?I think hes not pure breed Sharplaninac or as you call then illyrian-shepard.
@datodvali awesome idea! I would like to visit Georgia. I'd like learn more about the country first (besides how nice it looks and how awesome these dogs are lol). It always annoys me when a foreigner visits here and has no respect for the customs or culture. I would hate to be "that tourist" in someone else's homeland.
@tigerprince The hair makes them look a lot bigger... These dogs never reach the 200 pound mark but with that coat they do look HUGE. Having said that... They can get to be up to 150 pounds and that is PLENTY of dog don't you think? Apartment dogs they are DEFINITELY not. No matter how often you would walk them you are not doing your dog a favor if you condemn this breed to live in an apartment. Fantastic animals aren't they...?
@iliabashel Many nationalities in the caucus have this dog, not just georgians..there are over a dozen caucasion nationalities, georgian is one of them...
@prizrak95r this breed come directly from Georgia. It is known fact. Chechnya shepherd dog is different to Georgian...I have been in Breeding industry for years now and I think I know what am talking about. :-)
You are right about their origins but caucasians and chechens are couple of oldest tribes in caucasia and those dogs are important in their culture too, since they are livin in mountains in caucasia...
@The1AngelOfFury They are truly intelligent dogs... But one cannot say they are the smartest... There are many breeds out there which are EXTREMELY intelligent thinking breeds. But... They are certainly amongst the smartest out there... For sure.
Umm these dogs are naturally aggressive without any form of protection training, however unless you live in the middle of nowhere I would suggest not owning one, these dogs are hard to control and your a Cane Corso can't compare in strength size and tenaciousness. YOu don't need this dog for protection, just don't do it. This is the only breed of dog I'm personally afraid of, I'd shoot one and ask questions later. Although they are beautiful and great with their families.
Oh please don't overreact! I'm a small 51 years old lady and I own a CO. I take him everywhere with me and yes he is a bit protective but nothing one can't control. You just have to socialize him properly and that means expose him to every possible situation so ... you take him with you to all places since he is a baby. Of course it will help if you are used to giant dogs. I'm not saying COs are a breed for everybody, they are not, but lets not make a monster out of a really good dog.
@mydogsbiteu Also, I've been around pitbulls all my life and have taken one in as a stray before. Long story short...the pitbulls I've know have all been very sweet to people and children especially which is good. But they have not been protective. The two german shepherds I've owned on the other hand, have both been incredibly protective and willing to do anything to protect the house and members of the family.
scary looking dogs!!!! i would love to see one in real life. just to be near one and to feel its fur would be enough. i love dogs and im not scared of any breed, but today is the first time in my life ive seen these dogs and omg they make me scared lol i think its the size and strength. beautiful dogs though. thanks for posting this vid xx
is it something wrong with your dog?, official wheight is 65, mine is a big one wheighting 75 kilos, 113 is not good for this race. where are you from?
@flexin007 These dogs originated as shepard dogs and fought wolves to protect their flock and shepardman. Their ears get cropped so wolf can bite onto them, and their long fur cushions bites. Unlike a Rottweiler and GDS, these dogs will continue fighting ever on the backs with their belly exposed. Althought they are not as good as guarding people as the Royyweiler and GDS, these dogs are feirce in spirit and protectional instincts that make they defend no matter how bad are the odds.
This breed does me remember one of those legendary pokemon, plz dont get mi wrong i just remember it yearss ago, someone near by have this Dog in netherland, his name is Tibor he is very calm, he face expresssion is like i dont care, who are u i dont know u xD its so funny, when he sees other dog he is calm, like i dont know this dog, he is like nahh i stay here u come over here, but when he go crazy xD playing he makes some beers sounds xD so funny, tis breed is awesome
they can get bigger honestly. if its raised in the actual russian mountains and used for what its soppose to b used for they get enourmous.. i saw one on discovery channel and it was twice the owners size and the owner was 6'5.
They are beautiful dogs, and they are dangerous dogs because of their very very dominate and aggressive nature. This breed is 600 years old, in Russia. They were bred for very limited purposes, which doesn't make them a good pet choice, for everyday People. Their jobs were on large ranches or farms, where they protected livestock from large predators, like Wolves. They were used in the Russian prisons, or course as guard dogs. They are a one owner dog, even if there are other People living in the household. This is one dog I hope does not catch on, in a big way in the United States. Now it may be possible to end up with a very docile dog that is not dominate aggressive, but I don't know anyone would take that chance.
Andrea Altgayer The point is, these dogs aren't meant to be socialized, as we think of it. They have an inbred instinct to do what they do, for over 600 years. They will guard their family, however they are usually bonded to one member of the Family, who has their total respect, but they have even turned on that person. If People have these dogs, they have to know how to interact with them, and have their respect. I don't really know why People would want to have one of these dogs, in suburbia. These dogs belong out on a farm or ranch doing what they do best. They belong in colder climates. If People want a Bad Ass Dog, get a Pit Bull, because they are not really Bad Ass. LOL Or even a labradoodle, they are big but such lovies.
@BakaNeko224 Don't take this as an attack on you because it is not. You seem like a great person and I respect your understanding of the pitbull and the work you have done and are still doing. I wish more people would help in the way you do... The only thing I have to add is that watching a TV special and having one friend attacked by a certain breed does not mean you understand the breed. If you want to understand a complicated breed such as this one you have to live with them... You know?
@TheD3JANO Yeah I know about the Sarplaninac wolf killers :) in fact I was going to import a pair of Sarplaninac in 09 but I bought a male Central Asian Ovcharka from Polish lines in 09 and a female Central Asian Ovcharka from Russian lines in 2010 .
They're beautiful, but you better get yourself an industrial vacuum cleaner, as these guys shed like you wouldn't believe. They are made for the outdoors and for deep winter in high altitudes. They don't do well indoors, and are troublesome if bored, as with most intelligent working dogs. Don't get one unless you know exactly what you're getting into.
@flexin007 Sure about that? Some shepherds still live a semi-nomadic life in Kasakhstan and Kurdistan, they herd their livestock animals for 30 miles a day or more, day in day out, little food, cold weather, and (fortunately and hope it stays like that forever) lots of wolves in their homelands. So, some of those Alabai are the same as always; and they will fight a wolf (a much superior rival than a little pet with strong jaws) the time it takes, the pain it takes, drive and desire to the top
@3rdEYEbeHolder Remember that most of this is hair... @flexin007 I'll say the same thing that I'm always saying - pit bulls, gameness and all that is impressive when you see a 25 kg dog capable of pull a car or stay in a fight with broken paws for 40 minutes; but we barely know Eastern dog breeds, so Western people tend to think that a CO or a CAO is the same as some Western big but slow and relatively weak dogs like St Bernards or Leonbergers; we don't know much about what a semi-savage, 50+ kg tough, working dog can do
@cornejocastelforte Not really a fair comparison is it...? Being that these dogs are roughly three times the size... How well do you think you would do against a man weighing three times your size all muscle? We should appreciate dogs for what they are. Pitbulls are AMAZING dogs for what they are. i had one he had 98 kg and he got hit by a car :'( the car got smashed just like i tank run over him . ps he was the strongest dog in in my village nothing can replace him
the first two puppies , really amazing, they are so small yet you can feel their greatness and that aura full of pride and power.
Those are the most muscular puppies I've ever seen.
What a force! And cute at the same time.
Georgian shepherd, colled by russians as caucasian shepherd dog, is endemic breed of georgian mountains for defender sheeps against wolves. Wery smart, brave and strong dog.

Can someone please tell me if these dogs are knowing to stray and what makes them a better guard/protection dog than a cane corso or borboel??!!

I think a lot also depends on socialisation.Sadly, many dog owners underestimate the importance of taking their dogs to puppy school.

You are incorrect. The Caucasian Mountain dog AKA Caucasian Ovtcharka originated in the Caucasus Mountains in Russia.
