Zelazny does Dragonball! I couldn't have put it better myself. Great conversation, guys! This was an interesting read for me. I started with the Dream Master and absolutely loved it, and none of his other novels have topped that one for me, at least not yet. Some of his short stories and novelettes have easily matched it, but not the novels. I caught the Tenacious D reference as well!
Though it is WAY long since I read this book, I love Zelazny. It's fascinating how many different things people can take away from the same book by him. I feel like the 'the gods are bastards' theme is purely intentional and Zelazny does not think that godlike powers are sacrosanct at all.
