I am just learning this art. Thank you so much for this lovely project. I look forward to working with beads, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill.
Hi Maria, it's called a clasp the holds the ends together around your neck. The one you used is called a toggle clasp. There are many different types of clasps. Your work is so beautiful. Everything you make I just love. Have a good day Marie! :-)))))
Thanks so much for sharing your knowldge of tatting! I am brand new to this art, and your videos very helpful. I would like to ask you if you would please be more specific about the size needle, thread, beads etc. It's hard to tell what you are using by watching the video. Have a great day!
Hi Maria! You are such a dear. I am going to try joining. I think I either do not reverse or knot correctly. I am saving all you videos! You are my teacher and I love your caring spirit. I will let you know how it works out for me once I get one done. So you may not hear from me for a week. Bless you! Jesus loves you and so do I. :-))))
thank you Maria, this is a lovable tutorial and no matter that you are mixing up names and laughing a little is very dear! What I would like to know: The kind of thread. Is it cotton - which size? If you would crochet with the yellow yarn what kind of crochet needle would be the right size - just to find out the thickness of your thread. Thank you Maria - such a pretty necklace!
Hi Maria, I still haven't been able to create the necklace. Thanks for the extra links because they were a big help. I just need to practice because I am new. But rest assured I will get it. May I ask what size bead you use? It looks like a size 11, but I could not get that bead to go over my size 5 needle. Thanks Maria for your help.
The necklace pattern is a ring and chain ( let's call this a clusters) so for every cluster you need five beads. I made 20 clusters so 20x5 = 100 beads. I hope that makes sense.
Hi maria, first of all i LOVE youre video its amazing, inspiring and so calm i gonna try to make one :D can u please tell me what the material is that u are using is it cotton or maybe acrylic ? i will use acrylic and wanna know if it gonna look good also, thank you so much, keep makin those videos cos the are great
Maria Papia yeah i thought so, ok i will im watching ur video again cos i still cant get it straight about the turning and put the chain over the first round haha thank you maria
+chiqui o'leary here is tutorial I did on how to add thread ua-cam.com/video/73aziiU3A0I/v-deo.html Usually you run out of thread from your tail unless you are doing a split ring or other technic that uses the tail and the ball thread.
I have tated a lot of flowers and I want to put them together. Do you have any suggestions on how to do it?Would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you Liz sevy
I am using thin thread to make the necklace and my thread keeps getting knotted is there any way l can stop it?l spend more time undoing knotted than making the necklace. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello paulsevyflicks! I am sorry you are having problem with your thread :-( Some time when I have a long tail I get my thread knotted a lot. I try to go slow putting my my fingers through the thread when I'm closing a ring or finishing a chain. I hope that helps.
Hi Maria! I don't know what I am doing wrong? I had to redo this beautiful necklace four times. I follow your instructions and video the best I can, but I mess it up and start all over. I mess up on closing the rind, and I seem to be going backwards on the chain. Please help me if you can. If not I will keep on trying until I totally give up. I am a new beginner and that's my biggest problem. Thanks Maria!
i like your videos you make such nice items. was wondering if you have ever gotten your beads and clasp components at firemountaingems.com ? they have some really great prices i usually get mine there. also the name of the clasp that you have been trying to name is a toggle clasp( a loop with a T bar closure) . the screw on kind is a barrel type clasp. just to let you know. but ive subscribed to your you tube site and like them all. have a great day.
I would also recommend paying attention to where your thread is and how it's laying before you pull it through. Often when it gets tangled on me it's because it had twisted up while I was busy working
Hola! Esta tecnica se llama frivolite aca en estados unidos se llama tatting. Yo compre mis agujas en amazon y ebay. No se donde las puedas comprar en el Ecuador. Saludos!
Thread size 10 Bead size 11/0 5 beads per pattern 1 pattern is made of 1 ring and 1 chain 1 necklace is made of 24 pattern repeats requires 120 beads load your beads on to thread load your clasp on to thread thread needle - leave a 15 inch tail.
