I’m not sure if Hemp is legal out there but it will pull out heavy metals. I also read sunflowers do it too. Keep up the good work. God led you to learning about soils for this very reason. He is doing it with me too.
@EdwardM919 Cannabis is only one type of hemp. The hemp you're referring to has no psychotropic property. But you're right. Hemp is a gift from God. It can be made into clothes, paper, even car bodies that are almost indestructible.
@@EdwardM919 Hemp is used to make cloth, sales on ships that came to America where made of Hemp. The first Jean's made from hemp. your thinking marijuana or Cannabis. Hemp is also ground down and makes some of the hardst Hempcrete for building, its like concrete, but made from hemp.

Unlike our well water, which we use for our own consumption, municipalities are required by law to treat the water to make it safe when they supply it to the public. They have to worry about viruses and pathogens and bacteria and potential lawsuits. Many municipalities use chloramines which is a combination of gaseous chlorine and ammonia along with lime softening, polymers, sodium hexametaphosphate and other chemicals. They use that in order to not create trihalomethanes in the water, which are carcinogens. I spent many years as a Florida state licensed Water and Wastewater treatment plant operator. What you guys are doing is great!
Billy you are the most knowiedgable farmer i have ever seen, i mean you sound like a farmer and a scientist, not to mention and electrition, and what do you dont know about biology, according to my brother who went to collage, that biology is one tough subject. Go head Billy B.🙏❤️🙂
I want to thank you for all you do, I’ve learned so much from your videos and just knowing about permaculture has changed how I’m thinking about setting up my gardens, as well as fruit trees and bushes! Thank you so much for waking me up to this idea!
One of the biggest drawbacks to permaculture, imo, is folks thinking only in the immediate sense. I'd plant that shoreline with Switch Grass, for sure, and I think the native grass's crazy rooting system would work wonders to knit the soil together. However, planting willow would be a huge boon. Do you know that I've looked all throughout South Carolina and can find not a single person growing Salix americana or Salix purpurea as a crop for the basket weavers? We talk about carrying things forward, but forget that it's not all about food in the belly. It's great to grow vegetables and livestock, but what about all the other things that God's plan has put out there for us? Half the reason we're worried about toxic chemicals in the ground is because we've gotten away from using simple lye and borax and other natural cleaners we can grow for ourselves. It's no wonder folks are worried when their own homes are chock full of stuff they can't pronounce! Willow used to be a cash crop for families and people spent a lifetime learning how to weave it into all manner of goods for the homes. If I had water around here, I'd be growing a good half-acre, at least, if for no other reason than to supply it to basket makers in this state who are currently having to buy the stuff in the mail.... or not using it at all. Willow makes for a great remediation plant, and it's the best rooting compound you could ask for. But where it really shines is as a resource for making non-plastic containers to be used in the home!
This is a great project. I am learning a lot. I see my winter grass coming up to stop the shed of dirt. The cover crop went down so considering, if its not too muddy. Ive got to get onions garlic csbbage and the like going. Rains like every 3 days, but i planned ahead and gave leaves, have hay to give. Thinking about bringing some up to higher ground. Chickens are keeping it mowed ans lay out to dry up by house. Considering all. South AR out
Long time watcher, and first time commenter. I have read in multiple places that sunflowers pull the toxins from the ground. I know you'd have to wait until spring, but it may be a good way to mediate the problem. If it were me, I would grow them and then burn the stocks in the fall, and then plant the food forest you are planning. Hope this helps.
This is awesome, and exciting!! I cant wait to see the results!! Also, Id love to help! Praying for success and acceptance from the powers that be, here on Earth. (I already know the favor is on you, frim THE Most High! I appreciate and respect your diligence!! And, did I mention, Id love to help, in any way possible!! Shalom brother!
what u are doing theres no words for it 🙏. P.I.M.C (permiculture) (Is) (My) (Calling) Passion is more catchy i see why u Did it lol PIMP haha i mention calling because thats what the good old lord destined for u. love yah what your doing is more than words🙏🙏👍👍❤❤💯
People laugh about my Unicorn Pee & Pixie Dust until they see the load of tomatoes hanging on the vines. I was just discussing the trees are growing underground while the ground is wet and not frozen. Put in an order for more apple and a pear tree.. Just like you brother, I'm out working on the property anticipating better things to come.. Those governmental officials are delusional, blah blah everything is fine (there must be pink elephants living with the care bears after some mushroom soup).
Don’t get me wrong Billy, I know you have the Permaculture Skills, thats not in doubt. Where I see it trying to remediate the soil for the owner on his or her land that is in a flood zone I would say the council or state wouldn’t allow building in that area along creek bed. The water in river contaminated, the soil will take moisture from the creek, looking at the dead trees along the river that’s a result of wet feet I’d say prior to the Hurricane. The next spot where you have started remediation on that vacant block, may still be reclassified as no longer residential in the future. Better planing is needed, sorry! I personally think you and Michelle, wanting to help from kindness, respectfullyyour in over your heads, Billy you complained a few times now saying you don’t have the time already, even before today and you don’t you have your own farm to run, thankfully wasn’t severely damaged just a few minor repairs. Few month back you and others rightful questioned Tracy and her team for being there in the storm zone with her team, Her objectives may of or may not have been to take credit all the help hoping she’d be paid by multiple Government Agencies. I hope there’s not a false belief of residents and families in these affected areas thinking they are going to get new homes etc, that ain’t going to happen I’m sure. If the soil is so bad in this area why are kids playing on it😡😡😡🇦🇺

If true, then that's the best reason to never smoke it.

What about deer and voles and moles? I can't grow anything where I am in Georgia without root cages and fences.
My bone sauce should take care of about 90% of that.

will it flood right there?
Oh, maybe……..in 1,000 years
I’m taking a chance, but I don’t think it will as often. If it does, it should be short-lived.
I was just watching a vid of farmers loading round bales into a shredder, without removing the plastic mesh wrapping.
What is wrong with your country?
I could feel volumes with all the things that are wrong with this country, my friend!
What??? You don't celebrate Christmas?? If we didn't have Christmas then heaven wouldn't be open to us.+
It is a pagan holiday. Learn not the ways of the heathen.
I celebrate Christmas every day, Paula.
