Well, I was hoping when the Pac-12 was going under, that the B1G would also take STAN and CAL, and the Big XII would take WSU and ORST. But since that didn't happen, I wish they would have joined the MW Conference. Then STAN, CAL,WSU, and ORST being added to the MW would have brought their Conference to 16 schools. Then down the road these 4 schools, plus BSU, SDSU, FRES, & UNLV could have left the MW after the media rights would have expired. Then the new Pac-12 would have the eligibility of 8 Conference members as Would the MW. At least then there wouldn't have been any poaching of another Conference such as what the Pac-12 has done to the MW.
Shit take is absolute shit. 🤷 The Pac-12(/10/8's) historical legacy absolutely DWARFS the Mountain West's, and it's not even CLOSE! The advertising and name recognition value of the former brand is literally magnitudes higher than the later. If they had to pick a brand to continue under, the Pac-12 was the EASY choice.
Curious about what you think considering we got USU and should get UNLV and Gonzaga. That’s 7 out of 9 teams that were in the tourney LAST YEAR! I know the Big 12 tries to put value on basketball, could the PAC do that?
I also have Big East PTSD. Risk is scary, rewards are nice. We'll see where we end up 😶 Ideally in a conference that doesn't implode into basketball as the major sport.
I'd rather go back to the Big Sky than join some stupid fake Pac 12. At least they're still playing regional college football. It's stupid to fight this hard just to be a bottom tier minor league farm league. Oregon State and Washington State need us more than we need them.
Hey. Make the MW implode! That way yall owe zero dollars on exit fees. Then pay half of tulane and Memphis exit fees. Theyll jump. Gonzaga will jump, st marys will jump.
Teresa Gould didn't offer them 2.5 million the Oregon State and Washington State leadership offered them 2.5 million.
More reason she should be fired then if she’s letting the schools run the conference and influence terrible decisions
They need the east coast schools if they want 2 make more money
UCONN football needs a home. Perhaps the PAC 12 should reach out to them.
Need to add Montana, Montana State, SDSU and NDSU. Let them become power houses. All the teams left to choose from are crap anyways.
Never trust a California based entity. Hope the MW survives and makes the PACX look stupid. Go Gloria. Go!
This was done backwards. They should have made Oregon State and Wa State join the mwc
How cool would Mountain-Pac be for a conference name?! 🔥
Ridiculous
💯
Shit take is absolute shit. 🤷 The Pac-12(/10/8's) historical legacy absolutely DWARFS the Mountain West's, and it's not even CLOSE! The advertising and name recognition value of the former brand is literally magnitudes higher than the later. If they had to pick a brand to continue under, the Pac-12 was the EASY choice.
@Cooe. That historical legacy left for the Big 10. It’s no longer a factor…
Curious about what you think considering we got USU and should get UNLV and Gonzaga. That’s 7 out of 9 teams that were in the tourney LAST YEAR! I know the Big 12 tries to put value on basketball, could the PAC do that?
Good job saying “fruition.” You wouldn’t believe the number of people who say “fruitation.”
Thanks dad…😂
U gotta be kidding me u wouldn't pay their exit fees but u gonna pay more money 2 the MW 2 get worst schools
Bad play by the PAC most definitely, but it’s not the end of the world
I was thinking the same thing...
Exactly
Why does Boise State have the tendency to jump the gun i.e. look at the the jump to the Big East?
I also have Big East PTSD. Risk is scary, rewards are nice. We'll see where we end up 😶 Ideally in a conference that doesn't implode into basketball as the major sport.
To be fair the Big East could have also ended considerably worse off too
The schools that left the PAC-12 list their vote they day they announced they were leaving. I think. Does the MW have a similar contract?
I think they can still vote until the day they leave on conference dissolution but I’m not sure on that
WTF are they thinking UConn n football only if u taking Uconn u take all sports especially BB
💯
I'd rather go back to the Big Sky than join some stupid fake Pac 12. At least they're still playing regional college football. It's stupid to fight this hard just to be a bottom tier minor league farm league. Oregon State and Washington State need us more than we need them.
That’s a bit extreme…
Hey. Make the MW implode! That way yall owe zero dollars on exit fees. Then pay half of tulane and Memphis exit fees. Theyll jump. Gonzaga will jump, st marys will jump. And and you make up the exit fees in the AAC by getting in the central time zone. You kill the MW and the AAC in the process. Come on its simple. Yours truly a Memphis fan. We hate our league. We dont want to go watch rice, tulsa,Charlotte, FAU,ECU,UAB,Temple. Jeez man get it done!
🤞🏻
The American Athletic 4 are all staying together or all moving together
Sorry Utah State joined, we all know you were trying to get away from us.
In the same way that I try to get away from gum on the bottom of my shoe
😂
What if the Acc come an ask washington st oregon st to join them what happens to the Pac 12
It dies instantly. Especially with it being at only 8-9 teams
Is it too late for those teams who left the mwc for the pac 12?
The MW schools wouldn’t want to go back, yeah it’s not what we expected but where a thousand times better than the MW right now. The MW is at it’s weakest point
@@scottyclayton2501a thousand times? I don't know about that. If we would have beaten Oregon along with Washington State beating the Huskies it would have looked a lot better.
@@brucemurphy6354 Agreed. It's closer to parity than it is to 1000x.
Good content, just need to clean up the pronunciations..
Yeah, I saw Gonzaga weird 😂 It’s my British side
Please learn how to pronounce Gonzaga. First say Zags. You will note it isn't pronounced Zogs.
Yeah it’s my British side, makes me say some words weird. I say Nevada the same way 😂
What I like is regional conferences. Anything else is a big 🖕 to fans and families of college students. Money truly is the root of all evil.
Unfortunately those are a dying breed
I think the reason the pac and MW didn’t merger, is the pac as the name needed to stay intact to get the money from the departed.
I also think this is why MW wouldn’t merge with the American.
MW and American merger is actually concerning to me
Could have done a merger and kept the PAC12 name. It was really the only thing that the PAC12 schools brought to the table
@@BroncoBleymaier agreed, but the PAC didnt want to play with the bottom dwellers. It’s a bad look because just to stay alive now, they are going to have to poach the Utah states. I think we are witnessing a winner take all situations. So the parties involved don’t have to pay an exit fee
They are ending up with those bottom dwellers anyway but yeah, we’ll see how it works. Reverse merger definitely the best course of action
@@BroncoBleymaier and now I’m hearing the PAC is suing the MW over the scheduling last year. It’s not looking good for western G5 football..
It only makes sense to join the pac if the pac will be a power conference
It will be much harder to regain Autonomous status as a conference, than it was to lose it. I don't see the PAC regaining Power status anytime soon. Even if we land some huge teams. You just have to look at who has voting rights.
If the PAC will make more money (they will) and is more competitive (it is, even though it’s not P5) theirs no reason not to.
@@MozenatorNot unless the Big 12 and the ACC implodes and the PAC 12 is able to poach teams from those 2 conferences.
