My super secret tech to beat wb as a power herald is to act afk, wait for them to jump you and pop all their shit to 1 tap you and shiro roll hahah. Works every time

Many thanks for your video et gdoc. I learn playing wb actually and its very helpfull. Maybe can you can give some advice, regarding the combo cycle you are using for burst ? I dont know why but its not give same results for me :D

one thing to note with the combo is that it relies on sigils a lot, the idea is:
- cast LB2
- during the travel time of the projectile, F1 and JI (fire + rage sigil proc)
- after F1 hits, swap weapons (hydro + air sigil proc)
and sometimes you just can't oneshot, that would hurt the pride of cele enjoyers

As a willbender, i had some awkward moments that i missed the opening burst skills and enemies could just simply kite away. Longbow seems like a pretty good option to fix my issue.
LB looks like a good option until you hit a necro, ele or something with prot for like 800 with a non crit true shot. or like 2.5k on a crit. Feels bad.

I love Willbender, but how can Anet tolerate this for so long? This amount of damage - most of it also aoe - is just excessive compared to other classes (maybe except Mesmer) They could nerf this by 30% and it would still be stronger than almost everything.
Have you not been playing for long or something? It's all cooldown based burst damage. AKA it balances out over longer fights and so they either get the kill fast or they are guaranteed to lose against nearly any other build.
every MMO has builds like this, Rogue / Hunter in WoW, Samurai / Black mage in FFXIV etc etc.
It can feel unfair but you can definitely outplay this kind of build, you just need to either avoid or negate the burst phase of the fight.
FFXIV Samurai Main for a good over 7000 hours here and I just have to ask, what you smoking? xD Anyway I can agree with Willbender@@Orphioux
@@Orphioux How do you outplay dying in 0.5s? I think Willbender has better survival tools than the majority of classes. You are no pushover and can fight for a long time; outnumbered even. As seen in this video and many others.
Totally agree, Willbender has broken damage. See the amounts of boons they have. And passive perma resolution? Anet, Why? I hope my class has these kind of mobility and boons too.
@@lovejaypo Yea, from all the classes I played so far, Guardian is my favorite. Every skilltree and every perk is strong and meaningful and access to crit rates and boons is basically free. For most other classes, I feel, there is maybe one or 2 truly meaningful perks per skilltree, and you have to go out of your way to gain boons.
With Willbender, I press F1 and have all the important ones.
Just start WvW after watching this video learned from the best i guess ♥️ and i only play Willbender since i start playing the game i can say damage is absurd but it's fair because has lot's of counterplay like Roll/Evade/Dodge/Block my entire skill set can be avoided with Stealth/Teleport if you know how to play against

Just started playing GW2, and have been running a thief but this looks insane. Might have missed it in the build link but what are the basic combos for WB (planning on running LB).

the one big combo is: I cast LB2, which has travel time, during that travel time I want to trigger a virtue (F1) so the traits triggers before the projectile hits, giving me boons, and damage modifiers, then JI so F1 hits roughly at the same time as the projectile
And if you want to try other stuff, I won't go over every combo, but basics things to keep in mind are, virtues are what enables your bursts, that works for every guardian spec but especially for wb since they do dmg. The second important thing is to not throw your skills away, so you want either to port/dash and be close to the enemy or CC/imob them. That's why most of the time combos start with F3, sw5 or JI

What's wrong with Relic of Peitha? Shouldn't it have higher uptime than Brawler?
I think it's a good relic but it isn't multi target, so I prefer brawler

What sigils do you use on the hammer? Been loving LB/SS and looking switch to hammer sometimes
I'd run cleansing and an offensive sigil like fire or a damage modifier one on a normal hammer build, for oneshots I use the same as LB
Again, I love this class and I am not salty about it at all, but how can people say Harbinger is overpowered when Willbender and Mesmer exist? Harbinger takes 1 minute to kill even the easiest enemies until the conditions finally align and the enemy drops below 100% health. But with Willbender, I can delete people in under 1 second, and that's much more satisfying than spamming 1 for 60 seconds. :D
I understand the frustration of playing against willbender, you don't have room for mistakes unless you're running a tanky build.
But I never really get one shoted by other WB, because it is very easy to play around, most of its damage can easily be avoided, even just by running in the opposite direction.
Imo cele harbinger is op because it is favored in the vast majority of match ups, way more than power WB. Cele WB tho ... Now that's very unhealthy for the game, worst than cele harb
@@rektyu7035 Your insights are welcome. I do not know so much about pvp yet, but I have seen quite a lot. The raw power of Willbender just makes it really hard to justify playing anything else for me. :D
I really want to make Harbinger "work" (obviously it works) but it takes so long to kill people, when Willbender can just end it all instantly in most cases. Not to mention insta killing people feels much better than applying tedious things such as tactic, awarness, and endurance. Bah.
@@Gleandra yeah it feels very satisfying but in most outnumbers you still need tactic, awarness etc, way more than cele specs, which feels more rewarding. I don't show many of them because a 8min video would be like 5 clips at best lol.
Anyway roaming is too small for anet to really focus on balancing it I guess, so expect broken stuff to stay for a long time, until the next powercreeped builds show up
@@rektyu7035 That would explain a lot. To me, roaming seems big, because the community, and UA-camrs, give it so much spotlight. I suppose Anet does not see it the same way.
@@Gleandra You have no reason to roam on Harbinger and necro in general when thief, ranger and mirage are so popular and hard counter it without terrain. Any Cele Cata or Cele Rev works better and they wont die to one shots if you press buttons. I, like you was trying to use Harbinger but dropped it after the removal of most corruptions. WB is more rewarding to play and scales well when you have friends. Cele hammer Cata is fun to play too and bound d/p Daredevil is easy and effective. move on from Necro mate; everyone has time to react to that shit.

you need the last expansion, the story will give you access to elite spec weapons regardless of the spec you're playing (it's account-wide)

Soto expansion (the last one), they allow you to wear any weapon from other elites, like: reaper using torch, or pistol etc...

I've never seen a Willbender not perform. At this point you can't differentiate a noob from a good player, which just shows how broken the class is.
I completely disagree with that statement lmao, newbies have a very hit and run playstyle, spam virtues and ports and barely hit their skills, because their doing kind of a PvE rotation which makes them very easy to kill
WB is stronk, especially stronk against low skill players. If you don't dodge or avoid their moves, you will die.
99% of WBs in WvW are easy kills just like Thiefs since they don't know what they're doing. Once their cheesy burst meme setups fail they have no idea what to do unlike a good WB pacing out their skills properly.
@@rektyu7035 it doesnt take skill to invuln and spam f3+f2 to avoid dying in any scenario. The difference is there, its just the safety guards on willy is too high so u cant tell if its a newbie or exp compared to other classes.

But I wouldn't call that performing, to me it means "the pressure is too much I give up", that's not how you tell if a player is experienced or not, and you can definitely compare it to other classes, like thief, ranger, rocket boots mains, to give a few
