@@UltramontanoPapista He is on the first level of Hell, which is purgatory, and is written as the most virtuous of the pagan poets despite Dante embracing Virgil over him.
It basicaly feels like a dark souls kinda game story to me. I know there is a game about it, but it would work so well in a modern game too. Such an epic tale and with wisdom too.
One of the greats atop the Faith's Parnas! Tolkein and Ivan (or John, if you prefer) Gundulić and many others also top that list for me. Gundulić is a representative of the marvellous Catholic poetry sprung from the Counterreformation in Christendom as a whole and Croatia's specific Catholic spirit. Catholicism in general is the best waterwell for artistists. To use an adjusted version of what was said by Arthur Macken - Art is the expression through whatever artistic medium of the dogmas of the Catholic Faith and that which is in any way out of harmony with these dogmas is not art. For Catholic dogma is really the witness of a special symbolism of the enduring facts of human nature and the universe.
Me on my way to find Homer in Hell so he can regale me the story of the Illiad for the 6 millionth time.
Kinda sad if Homer is in hell. He was pretty based.

Good background music. Dante is in a class of his own. The heights of Catholic imagination!
