So post-apocalyptic radiation wouldn’t kill that many people, nor would it contaminate much land, and what it would contaminate would be safe again in 40 years. The biggest killers would actually be the destruction of infrastructure, various levels of anarchy, the lack of rescue operations, and fighting.

Late reply, but the problem isn’t so much that many Swiss people would die, it’s just that they are in the middle of one of the most radioactive regions in the world, so they wouldn’t be able to come out for a while.
