I've just purchased your pattern, can't wait to try it when I buy the yarns tmr :) It will be a gift for a special person. I’ve never knitted anything before but I’m good at crafting so I hope I’ll be able to make this!
Hi there, and thank you for choosing the pattern! 😊 How exciting to take on your first knitting project and for such a thoughtful gift! Focusing on the joy it will bring to that special person will make the process even more rewarding. I’m confident it will turn out beautifully! If you need any tips along the way, feel free to reach out. I’d love to help!
Knitting is a journey, and I’m always learning, just like you. This grey sweater taught me to slow down and enjoy the process - it truly makes a difference in how smooth the fabric turns out! Never rush through something that brings you joy. So take your time, savor each stitch, and I'll be here every step of the way to cheer you on 😊.
I just found your channel and I am so in love with what you do. Your generosity is huge putting all of this work available for free. I am wishing you only growth, prosperity and success with your present and fututre projects 🤞
Dear Julia, thank you so much for this tutorial! Can't wait to make my second (ever) sweater. I have a question about picking up stitches in the armhole, because my first sweater was with raglan increases and I didn't have to do this step. You say to pick up stitches between the first and second column (33:50), and you place your stitch markers as a stitch guide in that gap based on the shoulder seam, so sometimes there's 1 column on the inside edge of the armhole and sometmies 2. But when you start picking up stitches in the video (37:30) it looks like you're picking up the first column in the armhole, rather than one row of stitches further in (like I would have understood from where you placed the stitch guide). Have I misunderstood something, or is the innermost column of stitches not visible in the video when you're picking up stitches? Where do you pick up the stitches from? Thank you in advance for any clarification!
Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 Let me help clarify the armhole pick-up process. The key is to pick up stitches consistently along the same ridge (same stitch column) and create a neat and thin inner seam (1-2 columns is ideal). On the Front, I pick up between the edge column and the next column. On the Back, it’s between the two edge columns and the next column. I begin at the middle of the armhole and work toward the shoulder seam, inserting my needle under both legs of a stitch in the chosen column. In the video, it might look like I’m closer to the edge because the edge stitches aren’t very clearly defined, but I’m still picking up from the same consistent spot. I hope this clears things up! Let me know if you have more questions - I’m happy to help. Good luck with your sweater!
Yay, I’m so happy you like it! The drop-shoulder construction is fun to knit - hope you enjoy every moment of making it! Feel free to share your progress, I’d love to see how it turns out! 😊
Another wonderful pattern, already purchased and awaiting yarn. Thank you so much for all your patterns, I have already made the mellow mood sweater and top. They fit so perfectly and I have another mellow mood on the needles. Can’t wait to start this too. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 This project can definitely be addictive! Enjoy your knitting journey, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions along the way.
I have bought your Mellow Mood pattern and can’t wait to start it and this also looks fun. But I am a new knitter and have only made socks so far. I’m afraid I may not have the skills for sweaters. Any advice?

The Mellow Mood sweater is a perfect first step! Once you finish it, you’ll feel more confident moving on to the Drop in Dream sweater 🙂
Thank you for the advice! Looking forward to making it:)
can I use a cashmere yarn for this particular pattern?
What specific yarn do you have in mind?
You can use any wool yarn as long as it matches the gauge.
You talk too fast!
