As an American, I make my tea like that too. The hot water really is the only thing you need. Boiled water is boiler water. I hate leaving the bag in because it's gets in the way of me drinking the tea lol

I drink tea mostly like India as a person of Far East Asian descent who grew up in Australia, mostly black unless it's Bubble Tea but I judged when I say no milk or sugar. Exceptions to milk and sugar being added in are also added to when I want a Chai made by my Southasian friends hands.

Ok. The way I make my tea. No matter what the container is. The tea bag preparing is the same while the tea making is different depending on the tea. So I first put the bag in (I love a no string tea bag, makes life easier), then I add my water. If it’s something like green tea, peach tea, something naturally sweet I just add 2 spoon fulls of sugar. Now if it’s something like earl grey or black tea I add honey and sugar. Though I prefer herbal teas with no caffeine over the others. And I hate peppermint tea. +points if some tea leaves seeped to the bottom. Because I do witchcraft and I’d say I’m an expert or very skilled in divination so I read the tea leaves as if it’s my daily news/oracle

Nah tea has a bitter aftertaste if left to steep too long and some teas like puer and matcha, don’t need high temps or long steeps.
