      @@Championhelmets i just cannot understand why hjc have decided to go back to screws instead of their quick release visor on the i90. All other things considered, looks like a decent lid

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  5 років тому +1

      The i90 does use HJC's RapidFire system for releasing the visor, which is the same as that on the RPHA 90. Though, true, for the F70, HJC went with screws on the visor, which was a bit of a shame.

    Actual numbers shown differ from what was said. To be fair you'd have to take the highest db reading for each helmet and compare them. The I90 was 107.6 at 133 km and the RPHA was 106.7 at 130 km. To say the I90 was 106 and the RPHA was 103 is a little misleading.

    In my experience I have found that noise levels change with temperature and humidity. I know this is a variable that would be hard to compensate for.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  5 років тому

      Yes, these factors will affect the helmet's noise level. We try to reduce this by ideally testing the helmets on the same day, but this is not always possible like in this case. Thanks for your feedback! What did you think of the two helmets?

      @@John_Ridley I was thinking about the Bell Qualifier DLX since my dealer really loves Bell. Thats most of their store items. But I feel like Bell is a great beginner helmet, but doesnt have a good mid range to high end modular. You can just get better bang for buck than the Q DLX in my opinion, unless you can get it on heavy sale. It is again, a good beginner helmet.
      I have used the Bell Revolver EVO for 3 years and I liked it well enough, but too heavy, and the qualifier isnt much better I believe.
      Revolver has too much plastic and it all has broken over time, including the shield cracking in half. Not from terrible abuse. It looked like the Q DLX was the same build, just nicer in some ways.
      I prefer to pay more and it seems the $400 is sadly when things finally start to get good.

    VERY COMPLEX PROBLEM .... I drive a 2013 R1200GS and I just bought a NEW HJC i90 flip-up helmet at the end of September, and since that moment I have a huge metallic noise that seems to come up from inside the fork, below the handlebars, and the more I accelerate, the more the noise is important until not being able to support it any more around 120 km / h. a friend tried my motorcycle and told me that it had no problem neither technical nor mechanical and suggested to me that the noise was coming from the NEW helmet ..... at first I laughed thinking that he was joking. the next day I drove with another low-end helmet and the ...... no more metallic noise, I put the NEW HJC i90 back on and ...... the metallic noise returned .. .. !!!!, what do you think ?

      i-90 has a chin cover to keep airflow from rushing in and keep the inside cool. Because of this, you need a good anti fog visor. It lowers sound noise significantly in my opinion. All my helmets have a chin cover.

      The main difference between the i90 and the C91 is that the i90 will be a slight step up. This means that the helmet comes with an improved air channeling system and that it comes with the Pinlock insert included in the box.

    "The 90S averaged 102-3 dB"... as the video shows it reaching 106 dB. okaay then

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +3

      When we test out our helmets, we take them out for a much longer time than is feasible to show in a single video and we take averages overtime. On average, the RPHA 90 came in at 102-103 dB with the airspeed at about 120-130 km/h. Nonetheless, it was a windy days when we tested the RPHA 90. So, we did see higher than usual airspeeds of up to 140 km/h on our anemometer which meant that there were increased noise levels of 106dB. This is one of the main reasons we have the anemometer, since it allows us to more fairly compare our helmets.
      When we tested out the newer HJC RPHA 90S Carbon, we actually found it to be significantly quieter than the RPHA 90. You can check out the helmet's results here: ua-cam.com/video/_b9BtEGNZxE/v-deo.html
