The way in you used was the original entrance, remember breaking in 25 years ago when the quarry was completely sealed, the original slope shaft was completely buried under soil but there was a hole dug that dropped through the top of the slope shaft roof, someone had dropped a huge block of stone in blocking it and we spent a night unplugging it and had to use a rope ladder to drop In, Happy days!!
I recall the Quarry was void of graffiti, think there was 2 air shafts both of which had dead sheep at the bottom, the shafts both had 5ft walls around them on the surface so I guess the farmer used it as a dumping ground 🤔
The whitley quarry entrance was re/dug out around 20 years ago as before they filled it in completely before, now for survey purposes in order for survey plan for the new entrance which is out in the field, it was fully open in the 60/70/80,s after the surveying they only refilled half way with the intention of allowing access for surveyors later, but it was not needed, so they left it as it , we used to play down the tunnels for many years as children and teens, the tunnels have been re/cut and some tunnels re/modeld with half the steps missing now, as they original height has been changed to accomodate for the new entrance. to lesson gradiant..
That was an amazing underground explore with not 1, not 2 but, 3 red doors!!!😁 Thank you and the others for taking us along!👍😎 Massive and in such good condition!
Richard Bret and Mike did this quarry just before it re-opened briefly. We were given permission to dig a hole through the infill at the tip of the slope shaft and used a rope ladder for a huge 5 foot drop! We did it on the day Bomb Disposal blew up a huge wartime bomb found in a playing field at Chippenham. That made things very interesting. Good explore Matt
Might be our string we left down there. the boat down there is for taking pump heads into he deeper water in flooded areas to pump the water out instead of just throwing the out into the water, like you found at gastard mine.
Hey Matt ya probably don't know me but you really help me get through my days ❤❤❤ much love n respect thank you for all your content... I'm still binge watching you while I play my Xbox, hope all is well be safe n take care, cheers😊👍
THATS WHITLEY QUARRY, the one i told you about months ago, just across the field from me, someone has busted the door open, that been sealed for years, before they built the new mine entrance about 20 or so years ago , that door was completely covered then they dug it out to inspect the old tunnels, and half filled it back in, commander reynold's who owns all the land around here would not let them use the old entrance as he didn't want the badger's disturbed so they done the new one out in the field, i was walking over there last week but didn't notice the door , they will soon reseal it with a big block. i bet you came in from neston end, whitley end is so much closer.. just come through atworth and into purlpit 1/5 mile you go up littleworth lane . the stairs you see here are only halfway, they go down a lot further with rooms and tunnels going off in about 5 directions at the bottom, we use to play down there for years and there was a tramp who lived in one room at the bottom, it was full of emrty cans and bottles, my father used to work there taking away the spoil.
Great explore matt so much history down there i take it all the black marks on the roofs are from there candles or lamps or do you think it is from diesel exhausts on modern machines
Those tunnels have changed so much since the 60s, they were hand worked and the wall's were a lot rougher finish, most of the tunnels have been re-cut so there is very little original finish left with modern machinery it leaves a smooth fish, even the tunnel have had levels adjusted with floors being filled and roofs re-cut, it is so much different from when we used to play down there around 55 years ago,, this is around 1/2 mile from where i am..if you look aroung the fields you will see many air vents coming up out the ground this shows where all the tunnels are,
@@TheSecretVault Yes i was about 7 or 8, that was our local haunt, we used to play there a lot during school holiday,s and where octavian is now, the building with the big green doors on it, you could slide them open, i think its still there.
@@TheSecretVault yep , me too , I used to work on the recycling and that was physically demanding and learned wearing those waterproof trousers causing wet legs from sweat weighing you down and sap away at your energy, and shorts were the best way to keep dry , thats why you see postmen in shorts in the winter, it only gets cold when your not being active, but even then your legs don't really feel the cold as you would assume. perfect for your bike though. No man should suffer the torture and massacre of his spermatozoon's as a result of bettyswallock syndrome, nuts are kept outside coz theses little generators are constantly doing the graft of creating gaziliions of microscopic matthew clones in a sea of sugary milk to supply all those little matthews with vital nutrients to prevent them from starving.
Someone needs to make a flashlight fed off of an 18650 with lower lumens and longer life, or at very least one that you could drop down to 100 lumens or less.
I have just been up there 31/3/23 19;30 and the door has been put back and backfilled up to the vent's with clay and chalk rubble, it is pheasable for a determined person to dig out enough to gain entry agian, i am so dissapointed you didn't contact me to let me know you were going up there, i woud have loved to go down there again. bring back memories from yeas ago.
@@TheSecretVault Looking at the video, there is only about 3ft f clay been put there, as it just under the vents, unless they welded it also, they used a mini 360 as you can still see the tracks they must of had it on a cable to allow it to get back up that slope, they pulled it back up. maybe fillled in a week ago,

are you really that blind matt , surely its more fear based that actual is. Have you ever considered that if you stopped constantly wearing glasses after while your eyes might adjust to focus perfectly as intended, and that the majority of people whom wear glasses were tricked into believing their poor eyesight was actually a temporary ailment that Opticians would'nt want people to know, because wearing glasses keeps your eyes in a perpetual state of blurriness and therefore keeping your opticians financially comfortable in a stress free flexible and cushty job.
I SURVIVED FOR 10 YEARS WITHOUT KNOWING I NEEDED GLASSES AND WHEN I WORE THEM FOR THE FIRST TIME IT WAS LIKE A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE. SO ONE MUST QUESTION WHY MY EYES HADNT HEALED WHEN NOT WEARING GLASSES.
There are always going to be birth defects that occur, I stiil stand by my gut feelings on everything NHS related. Did you know the instrument Dentists use to perform a scrape and polish is ultrasonic that will easily blow a hole into your teeth without the patient batting an eye lid, by the time of your next appointment it will be "discovered" and at an extra cost fill it in , or maybe needs pulling out then they have the cheek to poor shame on your poor oral hygiene and sugar intake but never mentions the harmful impacts and dangers of fluoride addiction, taking fluoride and rubbing it into your gums where it has the best chance of breaching the blood brain barrier on a daily or TWICE daily dosage. Or mention the mercury poising from those older highly toxic amalgamations that are still doing a great job of supplying a constant micro dose that will act by slowly retarding the brain at a slow enough rate the patient won't bat an eyelid , probably blame it on "getting older" or "all those pills i necked backintheday" "smoking weed" but never considered the MERCURY welded to your root canals
@@TheSecretVault maybe it is just a puberty thing or pre adult thing , I SIMPLY cannot accept that millions and millions of people have crap eyesight , because NATURE does not make mistakes, defects or degenerative health is a direct result of man made toxins, or inbreeding , thats why true bloodline Jooze wear glasses upon those nasal hooks it is hereditary as a result of shagging your own family members

PUT RAINEX on your glasses ;)
There is no “E” in Rain X. We spell it “Rain X”

a spot of washing up liqiud will stop fogging on a tissue rub in to not visible, try it on a bathroom mirror, it works,..
