Bought a single pack today from our local Wal-Mart. Just a little over $20 with tax. It's a 1080P HD Model CW017. Does not come with memory SD card if you want to use this to save your video. Very user friendly. I'm not very tech savvy so If I can set one of these cameras up anyone can.😉 Hopefully Iwon'tt have any technical issues. Someone on one of these UA-cam videos had said they had a problem with auto night time video. Only worked for a couple of days. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue or any other problems that they wouldn't mind sharing. Thank you in advance and stay frosty out there! 😁✌️

I have 2 Geeni models and both worked maybe 1-2 months (at most) ..All they do now is the red light flashes and that's it....
Doesn't connect when trying to scan qr code even easy mode doesnt work. I put router to 2.4ghz n still wont connect.

Mine won't connect either ? I've tried both qr and easy mode. I think it's this stupid linksys router. I've been in the settings for the router and it appears to be set the way it should be. I am only getting 2/5 bars of wifi strength though, even right next to the damn thing 😡 !!!

I just got one today and I did everything to where I can see my front door through my smartphone but how in the heck do I get it it to record what's going on when I'm gone? I will set the Motion Device setting so it alerts my phone every time something moves in my place but does it also automatically record when a motion happens?
The little camera works amazing I have two of them and I love them

My screen is black on the app it won’t show video. It has a SD Card Inserted. I can hear everything and it sound detects but it won’t motion detect but I can’t see anything happening in my home. It just has a lil loading circle in the corner with a black screen and sound
I cant get plaback video off sd card. Are your settings right select motion recording and sd cards were formatted.

It can only be read through the geeni app. It's encrypted for the merkury and geeni apps. Don't make the mistake of using that sd card on any other device once it's been in the merkury as it seems to kill them outright. I hope you got it working.

Hello👋🏽 I have a question about the Geeni Camera App
The other night, my 3 cameras were recording and taking snapshots just fine, but yesterday my Geeni Camera App was not letting me see the cameras. So I logged off and then logged back in and then I tried to record and take a snapshot to see if they still work, but it's asking me to give access to permissions to storage. That I need to go to my settings and set the access to the permissions it's asking. Which I already did. And it still says, "give access to permissions".
By chance do you know what's going on or what am I doing wrong that is not letting me record and take snapshots?
How many GB should the micro SD card should be? Please help.

Yes these are not rechargeable WiFi cameras, stays plugged in to work, they all do unless it states rechargeable.
It does need to have a power source. You could connect it to a usb battery pack for recharging phones and etc. and allow you to use it where house power isn’t available.
We love our geeni merkury camera. I have it to view our elderly parent. I decided to buy the cloud that is offered for the year. If i purchased cloud on Geeni, how can I retrieve the recordings on my computer? Any ideas?

Can you record like 24 hours straight on this and then just start a new 24 hour cycle for each day?
All you need is an micro SD card (any size is ok) but 16g will get you at least 3 days worth, 32g will get you about 1 week and 64g will get you about 2 weeks worth of footage. You have to select “continuous recording” if there’s an option, that way it’ll record over the oldest footage stored. They have the cloud option as an add on for, I believe for $2.99 monthly subscription but I don’t recommend that as a primary storage for your recordings maybe a secondary just in case the SD card malfunction because it only focus’s on motion sensory. In example, if you need to hear a conversation back, it’ll cut off in the middle of the conversation if no one is moving because it only records motion. I wish it continuously records so that I don’t have to waste money on SD cards. Oh fyi, if you install the micro SD format it in the settings so that it’s ready to record. I hope this helps! 😊
I have a question man i have a greni 1080p smart home camera it wss working fine but now the video in the playback function lags, skips, and is choppy like every mid second there is like this type of delay or pause and i can not for the life of me figure out how to fix it i watch it through the app on my phone if anyone has a similar problem and knows how to fix it i would greatly appreciate it thanks

I bought a pack and it does not save videos well if using sdcard. Everything it gets unplugged it requires it to be reformatted and any video gets deleted. Not a good camera if you want to look back later with 100% confidence it will be there.

How do u change the recording length. Mine only records for 7 hrs. And I have alot of storage left on the SD card
I would try reformatting the SD card which you can do from the app.

Verify your home router is 2.4GHz. Not 5GHz. Pay attention to the light. SOLID Red is 'wait', BLINKING Red is 'Ready to Connect', SOLID Blue is 'Connected to network and phone/tablet Geeni app. Utilize the RESET button on the back (Hold for 5 seconds), it can make all the difference. Listen to the sounds also during set up. All else fails, the physical paper literature included with the item (Manual) is LITERAL - as in, literally follow it word for word in the order it is presented, and it will produce a working device - so long as you have verified you are able to connect it in the first place (2.4GHz, not 5GHz router). Also, perhaps make sure you have a WiFi password, not just an open connection. Geeni will ask for the password to connect, maybe the router needs to be protected to communicate with these devices properly. Process of elimination helps, but in this case: The manual is correct, read it and follow it, it will work just fine.

Some of the worst garbage I've ever bought, waste of time and money
It takes some doing to make them work. I had no problem the first time but had to unplug them and poof. Nothing would get it back. I just kept trying over and over day after day then it clicked again and works fine now.

I've got a question , once I put my sd card in and set it up is it just automatically recording at all times if I set it to continuous recording or do I actually have to hit a button to start recording
It should just automatically record
It is always recording to the SD card if you make that selection. The record button is to record to your phone.
