Thanks man, I don't get much video or photos of me running since I'm usually behind a camera as well. Glad to see the Narrow Gauge stuff showcased separately and all together!
Hey Mike was the rio grand 278 from the flint ridge and Portola valley railroad
@@TrainBandit Yes indeed
@@MasseeMedia It’s great to see the engine still running
@@TrainBandit Ray Bejerum has it now, he re-painted and freshened it up. Looks new again. Ron Schmidt the builder recently passed away.
@@MasseeMedia I remember the videos about their railroad and it’s was beautiful. So sad that he passed.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!! This must be my train, because it says "Rio Grande" ! RG as Rio Gonzalez and Rio Grande at the same time!!!
😁
This is awesome! it’s great to see all the different locomotives, definitely have to visit sometime
Now, that is a very interesting exhaust deflector on that K-36 narrow gauge locomotive i’ve never seen one that to flex it to one side, rather than up and away there have been known records of logging locomotives, having the exhaust steam from the air compressor pipes angled off to the side as well. One good example includes the steam engines of the Roaring Camp and Big Trees Railroad.
This video 📹 is sooo awesome, WOW 👏.
I enjoyed it.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Happy Thanksgiving!
Are these engines manufactured or does each owner craft them by hand from the ground up? Thanks
7:12 Are those steam locomotives running on Propane?
All steam that runs at this railroad must be fired by propane due to fire risk so everything shown here is.

any info on who built the rg 464
Unless i'm mistaken, it was built by Richard Ulin(Hopefully i spelled that right) for Peter Moseley years ago, it looks like it has changed owners since then
1:41 what's that pipe on the exhaust (chimney) for?
It's to divert any moisture coming up from the stack away from the smoke box and boiler jacketing. The water will discolor/rust the smokebox over time. Some guys wrap towels around the top of the smoke box when they are first pulling out of the steaming bays to catch any water that may shoot out. On a coal engine, a pipe may also be added to divert the smoke away from the engineer's face.
were can u buy trains like this ?
i realy wana buy one :(
What Guage do these run on?
This is a 7.5” gauge railroad
@@TheSteamChannel ah, I figured but I wanted to double check still, thank you!
