Cheers my friend, it was a very interesting place to visit! It is one of those places many people in South Africa have heard about, but not many actually visit - it is a bit off the beaten track. But yeah the locals are very friendly, engaging and helpful :)
This was such a real, interesting and insightful film. I absolutely loved it 👌 Keep doing what you're doing and keep it real as you are. Thanks Willie 👍🙂
Hi Willie! Such a friendly place and more beautiful houses and churches there too. Always enjoy the locals interactions😊. I love how the general stores seem to have absolutely everything you could ever need!
Hello Sheila! There is something very unique or distinct about these small towns situated in this semi-desert area. The distances between towns are often vast, so the locals are naturally intrigued by new visitors, especially ones with a GoPro camera walking around and talking to themselves :) That store is stacked with all sorts of shampoos and soaps, even more variety than many UK shops!
Thank you, so nice to visit again after many years....used to visit my auntie and uncle there on the way to Hermanus for holidays from the Transvaal...brings back memories :)
Ah thanks for sharing that with us! I can imagine it holds a very special memory for you. This was my first time in Victoria West but it is such an iconic town
Willie, yet another really interesting walkaround you had!! Enjoy tagging along and (remotely) meeting all your new friends. Victoria West is certainly an intriguing community, very diverse, engrossing. Your background information is splendid! I took a look on Google maps, too ... gave another perspective ... hey, I found the old railroad tracks!! Doesn't look like it's still in business. Again, thanks for sharing your journeys with us "armchair travelers" ... and as always: Greetings from Tucson. (Safe travels!)
Hi Jim! Always such a pleasure hearing from you. This part of the world is unique in so many ways; there are often vast distances between towns and endless landscapes. Such a difference from cities for example. I'm astonished to hear you can actually see the old tracks on Google Maps; many of these railway lines / stations will no longer be in use unfortunately. Hope all is well across the pond!
Lived in Victoria West for two years. We still own a little house there. Very peaceful :) There is a large farming community around Victoria West. One day we'll live there again 😊

Hi Liz, yes that is right re Hutchinson! Those rail journeys must have been fantastic! Thanks for watching and supporting my channel, it is much appreciated :)
Willie daar is n vakansie plaas 30km deur Victoria West waar ek baie keer gaan bly het. Dis n fantastiese plek maar ek het die naam nou vergeet. Victoria West is besonders!
Dit is so, Petra, maar ek is seker ek het baie gemis in die dorpie. Mannetjies se museum was toe, asook die teater. Ek het maar min tyd gehad om af te neem, maar het die stofstrate met hul mooi huise baie geniet.
