  • Mia and the Dragon Princess - Game Review
Hey AI Gaming fans, today I want to share my experience with "Mia and the Dragon Princess," a game from Wales Interactive. Known for their full-motion video games, Wales Interactive has offered a variety of titles ranging from "near feature film" quality to "90's Sci-Fi Channel corniness." Although I generally find their games enjoyable, Mia and the Dragon Princess left me severely disappointed.
Retailing at $13.99 on Steam, Mia and the Dragon Princess is quite rough around the edges. The story is an absolute mess, with zero logic or narrative flow. The game's setting, acting, and bizarre plot points are bewildering, and the whole experience becomes utterly overwhelming.
The game starts off strong with an animated introduction of the Dragon Princess, but once the live-action part kicks in, everything goes off the rails. The story takes place in a poorly-designed bar set, and the actors struggle to deliver anything of value. With bland action scenes and laughable background fighting, it's hard to stay engaged.
As for the gameplay, the player is occasionally offered binary choices that make little sense in the context of the game. The results of your choices rarely feel impactful, particularly since they often don't make any sense. The game also lacks some of Wales Interactive's usual features, like the ability to skip scenes on subsequent playthroughs.
While I appreciate that Wales Interactive is trying out different genres, their horror titles are still the ones that work the best. Mia and the Dragon Princess simply does not hold up compared to their other games. This brutally bad game is the first Wales Interactive title I've played that I cannot recommend.
As a fan of Wales Interactive, I'll continue playing their games, but I'm afraid I won't be able to share Mia and the Dragon Princess with my family. The game goes beyond being incomprehensible, and its low-budget FMV schlock gives schlock a bad name. With a disjointed story, lackluster action, and a boring interface, Mia and the Dragon Princess is not worth your time.
