- Its time to get into a new game I never played before but in today's video I will be checking out Devil May Cry Trailers for the first I did a poll and Devil May Cry was the winner for the poll I don't know anything about the series but this will be a new whole experience for me I hope everyone enjoys this video there will be a part 2 if you want to see more of this content and let me know what you think about this.

DMC is my favorite franchise of all time so i will just tell you that dmc3 and 5 are masterpieces

Long time Devil May Cry fan here.
Few things to know. Yes, this series started way back in 2001, due to a very specific combination of circumstances (a combat glitch from Capcom's Onimusha which also released the same year, a scrapped RE4 build, and Hideki Kamiya sticking with the project as head of Team Little Devils). The result ended up pretty much creating the subgenre of action games known as Extreme Action (or sometimes referred to as Character Action), which was about powerful characters facing against legions of equally powerful foes and utilizing flashy and stylish moves and abilities to dispatch them. It basically solved the big weaknesses most action games had with player moveset limits, active enemy interaction, and gameplay pacing. Honestly, DMC is pretty much the sole reason why God of War, Bayonetta, and even Ninja Gaiden(Black) were ever allowed to exist as they were, and why other less fast paced action games at least have SOME flash to them compared to pre-2001.
Also, while I love the series to death, I strongly advise you to skip DMC2. That said, do know that there were some things in that game that acted as stepping stones for features that would later become series staples in later titles (weapon switching, styles, multiple playable characters, bloody palace).
As for story, it's not the main attraction, but the over-arching narrative is an interesting and fun one, with the bigger highlights being DMC3 with Dante's ill fated re-encounter with his long lost brother, DMC1 with Dante finally having a chance at vengeance against the one that took his family when he was just a kid, and DMC5 where all plotlines both loose and tied all converge with perhaps the most satisfying conclusion the series has ever seen. 2 is largely unimportant and 4, while being the start of Nero's story, could be chalked up as this series' "beach episode" or "filler" that is mostly just a small role in the grand scheme.
The anime is solid enough, but don't go in expecting it to be an action packed battle anime. The focus there is more about Dante post DMC1, where he had fulfilled his reason for fighting demons in the first place and... doesn't have much left in life. There's quite a bit of introspection on Dante as a character, rather than the flashy, jokey side we normally see in the games.
Hope you become a long time fan, cause these games stick with ya and, despite sharing similarities with the sister series "Bayonetta", they are one of a kind.

Because I don’t think it doesn’t follow the story even the gameplay is bad from what I heard. 3 is still the hardest game to get into but it’s really good. When I get to 4 and 5 I think I will be in a good treat.
@@jayroro7053 Oh yeah, definitely 3 is the hardest to get into for sure. You're being thrown a LOT of mechanics all at once with very little leeway or room to experiment. Not to mention how it's perhaps the most difficult game in the series (vanilla or SE). There are a few things about DMC3 that kinda hold it back for me in being the best in the series (bitch blocks and a few enemy types), but it's god damn close and there's a reason for it being a fan-favorite.
Honestly, if you wanted a much more fair start, DMC1 would have given a better start, with it's relatively more simple controls, simpler plot, and more balanced difficulty. But, eh, too late for that now.
But, yeah, the other games are a treat. 4 IS very good, but it is held back a fair bit by a simple story told in a complicated way and has the WORST backtracking in the series. Also, it's a little jarring going from Nero's more streamlined gameplay to the utter fantastic NONSENSE that is Dante. SE, while not fixing those two issues, adds some fantastic additions (playable Lady, Trish, and Vergil, and the previously PC only LDK mode)
5 is just perfect on the whole. 3's story is the best, but 5 comes a close second, it's gameplay is the best it's ever been, it's enemy roster is perfect, and is the perfect send-off to the Sons of Sparda Saga.
@@1Synner I been thrown off with way many mechanics lol, I'm getting use to the game and seeing what's happening with the mechanics I kinda been struggling a lot but the combos I'm getting good at. I was going to start with DMC 1 but I wanted to play it in story wise to get a better experience with the story. I heard a lot of people don't like Nero that much pretty sure 4 will have a good story when I get there. I don't really get people hate Nero?
I'm Excited when I get to 5 because the gameplay I know is godlike from what I heard and I been told Vergil's gameplay is the best in that game.
@@jayroro7053 In regards to Nero, people don't hate him these days (especially after the reboot), but back when DMC4 was released, he was basically seen as a brasher, less refined Dante clone in different colors, despite his combat style being charge and brawler based. It doesn't help that his gear doesn't change at all from start to finish in DMC4 (save for a few Devil Bringer powers).
As I said, people treat him a lot better these days though. Not only does he get new, exclusive kit that he gains through DMC5, but his charge and brawler style of fighting is much more emphasized.
And, yes, Vergil's gameplay is the best in DMC5, however I highly suggest you give Vergil's character a test run in 3 and 4 once you've beaten each game at least once, just so you can have an idea what you're getting into when you finally reach Vergil in 5. There is a steady, significant progression to his gameplay, just like Dante.
Also, I heard you mention people don't like V and... that's kinda true, but it's mostly because he plays SO differently to any other DMC character prior, gaining style is much easier to do with him (having been granted the same lenient style gain that Nero did back in 4 due to being such a new character) and his gameplay style doesn't allow for much room to expand in the same way Nero, Dante, or Vergil does. However, V's gameplay really does shine in higher difficulties such as DMD or Hell n Hell, which kinda makes you really consider how you're moving and setting up synchronized attacks with his familiars. I strongly suggest you give V a chance, and avoid button mashing, despite how easy it might feel to do so.
@@1Synner In DMC4 I know Johnny Yong Bosch voices Nero so looking forward to that, Yea about V that's what I been hearing about V that nobody likes him I just think its his character or his gameplay will see when I get to DMC5.

@@jayroro7053 I actually watched DMC 2 gameplay before and I got so bored watching. The story is not bad, but unlike the other games, there are fewer cutscenes and very little explanation.Hence it made the overall game look bad.

@@ankitamondal7037 It's really not. The only good thing the anime did was showing what Dante's day to day is like, his relationship with Patty, and Trish and Lady's meeting.
A lot of it is not worthy of note at all, the fights are garbage considering they only last 2 seconds, and the final conflict was kinda meh. It's a 5/10 at best.
There’s actually a trailer for dmc4 that was pretty much made before Capcom had written any story, concepts, or characters. It features a slightly older version of Dante from dmc3 that took place maybe a year or two afterwards, it’s only purpose was to confirm that there would be a fourth dmc game.
I love DMC. Hack-n-slash is my fav genre and DMC remains the peak for me, even today. A little fun fact - The inspiration for Bayonetta's character came from the character Gloria from DMC4. The director of Bayonetta, who was also the director of DMC1, was looking for a female character for his new IP (Bayo) that could be badass and sexy and thought Gloria matched the description.
So that’s why he created bayonetta like Gloria in DMC4 im going to get to that soon when I beat 3 and 1.
If you want to join the DMC I'm afraid you have to learn a lot because the story of the game is quite long and does not follow the game release process, the timeline is 3 1 2 4 5, oh the game also features manga, novels and anime (confirmed ones only).
I heard a lot of people say skip 2 because it doesn't connect to the story, Timeline will be fine to playthrough the series will be a better experience.

@@jayroro7053 so it was given to a B team who didn't work on the first game and were not very experienced with action game design so they spent months getting nowhere the only reason the game came out the door remotely playable was due to hidaki itsuno who was the director of DMC3 which has arguably the best story and defined action games going forward with the idea of the three rival fights 1 fight where the rival dominates you 1 fight where you're even with the rival and a final fight where you finally come out on top
3 really did change the action game market with how it did combat style and story telling

DMC 3 was the best way to start off with good times to start a crazy game like that, Vergil in that game was top 3 best parts in the dmc series I will never forget that.

Overall thoughts? I played the demo that came with Code Veronica X on the PS2 and was like 'fuck me, I have to get that!' Hasn't aged particularly well, but at the time... damn... It was a party and you had to be there. XD
I never played Code Veronica X I know that’s a old game but is it good or no. RE4R is what I’m going to get when it comes out.
@@jayroro7053 It was pretty solid at the time and I personally still think it's a great entry in the franchise. I wish Capcom would remake it, as it really has a lot going for it. Like anything though, whether it is good or not, comes down to personal taste at the end of the day, that said though, I rate it! :D
@@Karalexia I think Capcom is planning to remake some of their games in the near Future, Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming this week and its gonna be good. I don't know anything about Code Veronica X but Resident Evil 4 will be my first game. Imagine we get Dmc 3 remake lol.
@@jayroro7053 A remake of DMC3 would be sweet, though it still holds up pretty well. I'd like to see a DMC1 remake first if any.
Dante's character wasn't fully developed at the time, so he almost seems like a vastly different character... Especially when you play the games in chronological order as opposed to order released. ^^

Nah lol. I was born in 2003 I didn’t know anything about those games like Capcom games growing up. Nintendo games I grew up playing when I was a little kid.

Also, re: DMC5. There are videos about this, but DMC fans were absolutely torn apart for ten years for wanting a DMC5. Journalists were vicious, especially after the failure of DmC: Devil May Cry, the awful reboot. (Okay action game, terrible DMC game.) We had no idea this was coming, but when we saw Nero (or Dante, as some idiots who think they're DMC fans declared), it was like tears and maniacal laughter, and months of shitposting and tearing into the franchise in a loving way.

I feel like it’s been 10 years for a long wait to get DMC 5 but they had to take their time to get DMC 5 right but now they made the game incredible. I heard the reboot is trash I’m probably never going to play it.
This might be the first time I've heard of someone playing Bayonetta that has never played any DMC. Without Devil May Cry, there's no Bayonetta. Hideki Kamiya's connection to DMC what's the reason I was excited for the original Bayonetta.
The trailer for Devil May Cry 3 back in 2004 or 5 on g4 is the reason I started playing the series. It was that good.
As far as devil May cry 4 goes, there was a lot of complaining about it originally because people didn't like that Nero was "replacing" Dante.
I was so disappointed when Bayonetta became a Nintendo exclusive. I really enjoyed the original.

1: Played it in 2003, along with 2. 1 is rough with the retro controls. 2 is guns-only easy (wasn't the real team who did it, they just wanted money)

Before Bayonetta there was Devil May Cry and you have not lived if you haven’t played a Devil May Cry game my friend now it’s often debated between 3 and 5 being the best one personally 3 is the best one to me and is the best one to play if you want to get good at Devil May Cry but I would at least put another game under your belt before tackling 3 bc it expects you to come with experience
For 3 I'm getting good so far just need to get use to it, I heard 5 has really good Gameplay but there's only character I heard that suck in the game I think is V's gameplay don't know that's his name but I heard of him before in 5.
@@jayroro7053 well V is more or less the easiest character to use in base DMC5 and it’s easy to rack up the style meter with him and his S rank taunts are great ranging from air violin to conducting an orchestra
@@jayroro7053 Good luck with 3. I’m going through my first play through. The North American version is harder than any other version and the North American DMC3 is without a doubt the hardest in the series and one of the hardest games ever made. You will die a lot, the game will test your skills to the limit, and you will be EXPECTED to get better as the game progresses. It’s a struggle for sure

@@jayroro7053 Dmc1 is a first game in franchise and it doesn't have lot of combos and that's reasonable but everything just feels good and natural compared to 2, in 2 you most of the time use guns which is beyond boring as melee combat just doesn't feel right.
Everythings good just dont play dmc2 if you are just for story watch on yt 😢
