What a lovely tag, I'll have a lot of fun with this one! I knew queen Elizabeth avidly kept a journal but I didn't know she was a series reader, I want to read the Uncommon Reader now.
Hi Daniela, what a lovely tag! I'm gong to read "La settimana bianca" with the book club of my library in December! Thank you for sharing your memories... a bear hug to you and your sister. Happy reading❤
Hi Essie, I am so glad you wrote this comment cause I did not get the notification (and figured out why, the tag is not active on the video description, it should come out blue when active.. these tech details driving youtubers crazy 😇) I am happy you enjoyed the tag and I am about to watch your video! Thanks for sharing the cheer! 🎄💫
Lovely idea for a tag. I haven't done one for months but should try to start again. You got me intrigued about Perrin. I don't love short stories either but connected ones satisfy me more. Marzahn Mon Amour was a success for me this year.
Hi Ros, thanks for your book suggestion. Doesn't look like it has been published in Italy yet, but I'll save the title. I agree with you about connected short stories. This actually brought to mind 'Between Friends' by Amos Oz, which I liked.
This tag sounds like a lot of fun! Thank you for tagging me - I'm looking forward to trying it! Cosmicomics was my introduction to Calvino. Luckily they didn't scare me away!
This is such a fun tag! I just posted my video for it. Thanks for creating it! I'm not familiar with the book Uncommon Reader - will have to check that out since it's your favorite! Class Trip sounds intriguing. I'm with you - Catherine and Heathcliff are both awful! It's such a dark, depressing novel - no redemption or hope! I never read Anne of Green Gables as a child - just read it about 10 years ago! (but I loved it, of course). I've heard such good things about Claire Keegan's novels. Count of Monte Cristo is the perfect pick for "cold and calculating"! I enjoyed hearing your holiday memories. I have also lost a lot of family members. And thanks for creating this tag! I'm glad it brought me to your channel :)
Hello Sue! So glad you enjoyed doing our tag.. Watching your video as I am responding to your note.. An Uncommon Reader is a short fun novel, I hope you enjoy it! I am so glad I found another reader who didn't enjoy Wuthering Heights 😉 Warm Holiday wishes from Italy.. it's always bitter sweet as we miss our loved ones 💕 Happy we connected via this tag 💫
Awww, your favorite memory was also about your aunt! I had already posted my tag video before watching this one, and it was heartwarming to have you mention your aunt as I had shared a memory about my late aunt.
This is such a delightful tag! Thank you, Daniela, for including me. I can't wait to do this one! I loved your choices for the prompts too. (I do really like Wuthering Heights, I think, because of the memories I have of the time in my life when I read it for the first time, but I completely agree with your naming Heathcliff as your "Grinch" or mean character.) I adore Claire Keegan. Small Things Like These broke my heart. Such wonderful choices, Daniela. Thank you again for tagging me!
@ I’m sure I must have one or two…I definitely have some about contemporary books that everyone loves that I just, well, don’t. I think maybe Tess of the D’Urbervilles is a classic that I didn’t love. I just found the suffering to be so unrelenting. I’ve had a lifelong, love-hate (well, not really hate) relationship with Ulysses. I did a video this summer on how my feelings have changed about that book after my third re-read of it in my mid-sixties. It was one of the most powerful books I had ever read when I was in my 20’s. Now, in my sixties, it totally annoyed me! I probably could come up with a few more…😉
@@BookChatWithPat8668 Thanks for sharing Pat. I did not read Tess.. and definitely not tempted to read it now 😉 I recently discovered the power of re-reading.. totally unexpected experience! But your patience,...third re-read? 👍🏻
@ well, the first two reads were required for courses. This summer was by choice with a group. Very different experience this time around. It wasn’t a bad experience. The group reading experience was wonderful, and many really incredible things happened with this re-read. But I felt much less patient with Joyce this time around, and I just really felt that he missed the mark in his attempt to capture a female point of view in the final, famous 18th chapter.
@@BookChatWithPat8668 I don't have much sympathy for Mr. Joyce. I read Sylvia Beach's biography, the American who owned the first Shakespeare and Company bookstore in Paris in the 1920/30s (Hemingway, Fitzgerald and others were regulars there) and she was the first one to ever publish Joyce's book. The process required years of work as he kept re-writing it (his sight was deteriorating at that time) In the meanwhile, Miss Beach was sponsoring his lifestyle (and his family's) in Paris leaving her almost broke. But she revered him and never complained... So I am quite discouraged to approach his book.. 🫢
