- Data is often distributed over several tables in a system. Joins are used to be able to access this data simultaneously.
There are Inner Joins and Outer Joins.
Inner Joins:
This join is used when two or more database tables are to be connected using the same columns. Each line of table 1 is merged with a corresponding entry of table n. Only entries in both tables will be displayed in the output.
Outer Joins:
With this join all records from table one will be displayed and if there are no matching records in table 2 then they will be displayed as blank.
