it's little not true. You have to pay VAT from full your selling price! Its not like you just buy from supplier PRICE+VAT ) Every seller have to get its own IOSS for legal work in the EU. Responsibilities are on the seller that is collecting money )
Hello... Our company is an IOSS Intermediary based in Ireland. We represent eCommerce merchants across the US, China, Canada, Switzerland, UK and more. We would like to connect with your business team to collaborate regarding our cross-border solutions and to see if we can support your merchants and their cross-border compliance requirements. Not to forget you have to pay the Taxes / VAT from your selling price to your costumer . So wouldnt asking the full price icluding Tax from you supplier be wrong?
most people have to be realyl careful because if you are only making a 20% profit margine which is what most dropshippers are making, taxes to these countries will literally eat up all of your profits. so remember to charge an extra 20% to these countries if you do
It's not only VAT. There is also a new "import tariff" that affects all products and starts at 5 EUR (up to 36 EUR, depending on EU country). Unless merchants sign up as IOSS, the dropshipping business will not make any sense. Example with phone case: Value of goods 3 EUR + Shipping 2 EUR + 20% VAT + 5 EUR import tariff = 11 EUR total cost And products >150 EUR have additional customs costs ...
All the other usual expenses, FB ads, Shopify, apps, etc. There are different tax obligations for each country so you will ask an accountant about other taxes but IOSS is applicable to anyone that sells in the EU.
it was about time that the VAT to be paid .. because the legal business living in Europe was like "we need to pay the VAT and those crazy outlaws chineses store are selling to our customers with lower price without paying the tax wtf"

Is tax the only other cost to consider when dropshipping? Or would i need to consider import duties and custom tariffs
