"I Knew I Loved You" is the second single from Savage Garden's second album, Affirmation (1999); it topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band's second #1 in the US after "Truly Madly Deeply." I prefer this one over TMD, but they're both so beautiful and sweet. Darren Hayes' voice is phenomenal.
This is a lovely song. They knocked it out of the park. It's kinda neutral music that everyone likes. His voice is almost angelic.
This whole album is fire. Great Aussie band
I just saw Darren Hayes (singer) in April, he sounds exactly the same and this song came out in 1998.
I love that Darran still enjoys performing these songs after all these years.
Bro, I totally forgot about Savage Garden!
Thanks gor covering, savage garden so spiritual when singing, they are amazing
I really enjoyed watching your reaction to this, I've been listening to them since they first came out. My fiance dedicated this song to me, he said when he heard it that's how he felt when we met. I had gone to a job interview where he works & our boss took me on a tour of the company then I left. He told me that after I left he actually went up to our boss to ask if they hired me & was all smiles when they said yes lol. We worked together for 4 yrs before we actually started dating, he had gone through a bad divorce & I had finally gotten out of an abusive relationship. Now almost 20 yrs later, we're still together lol.
What a beautiful song. Vocals are incredible
This is such a great song damn this brought me back! 😮💨🔥
Such a beautiful song ❤
This song was such a vibe. Should listen to some "Between" by Satsang w/ Nahko
Do “To The Moon And Back”, arguably Savage Gardens best song and different from the two you’ve reacted to
he sounds just like a young smokey robinson
Pretty smooth song, eh? If you like this song, do yourself a favor and check out “Sailing” by Christopher Cross. Trust me.
Enjoyed your reaction my friend.
Yes I had spice girls posters aswell 😂
Can you listen to Try to disappear, by the group Baroness.
Straight up listen to 1984 by Slaughter to Prevail. Anti war song with vibes
Check out G.O.A.T. by Polyphia
Incubus " sick sad little world " 🌎 🎉😊 plz
Almost feel ashamed to say this but as a kid this was the first song where I’d listen to something other than country
Such an incredible short lived band but Darren Hayes solo stuff is great
Middle school dances, I was picking up all the ladies singing this 😅
Just found your channel and I really enjoy watching your content!
Anyways I got something romantic for you.
Sasha - if you believe
Greetings from Germany brother. 🎉
What I loved about Savage Garden is that they do amazing ballads like this one and "Truly, Madly, Deeply" and other heavier non-love ballads. "2 Beds and a Coffee Machine" talks about escaping abuse, "I Don't Know You Anymore" about 2 people meeting up years after a breakup. All just top notch lyrics that pull on your heartstrings.
But then they also do amazing upbeat songs like "To the Moon and Back", "I Want You", "Wild Heart", and "Affirmation" and they're still just as enjoyable and well written. "Affirmation" is probably my favourite song by them bc I LOVE the message behind the lyrics.
Edit to add: Try out 'I Want You' sometime. Was their first real chartbreaker here in the US and you can join the rest of us still baffled at how they managed to make such a JAM with lyrics like 'chicka cherry cola'.
I want you is a serious tuuune!!!!
My wedding song
Excellent choice. ❤
Trust me brother, you gotta listen to AC DC Thunderstruck, that's a whole new type of experience.
What would you know, you’re obviously not Aussie
@@sjalusi1 So you don't enjoy music from bands or artists from other countries?
@@sjalusi1 obviously the Australians might know and have a lot more passion about AC DC but doesn't mean I can't enjoy it brother
name came from an Anne Rice novel... huge band at the turn of the century... but as quickly as they blew up, they disappeared
Blown away that Darren Hayes was around 28 when he made this song in 1999-2000 and he is like 51 today. Darren's on our right in the background the gentleman with the black hair.
No lie this song goes hard
My wife walked down the isle to the acoustic version.
However we had a Savage Garden theme wedding.
This album helped get me laid so much back in the day. Thanks for all the assists Savage Garden. 😂😂 You guys the mvp’s wish you still made music together.
Beautiful song. Try “to the moon and back”, “I want you” and “The Animal song”.
You've got a lot of great stuff on here. You should listen to Shawn James and do a reaction. Pick any song because they are all amazing. Guy must have sold his soul for that voice!
I have little soft spot for these guy since gheir first song. Were a big deal in Oz and NZ.
Listen to: Painkiller, by Judas priest
Darren voice is killed the soul😢🤠🖐️
Slaughter to Prevail- 1984
Low key wanna see his reaction to Nickleback, or another funny one would be that new white rapper but is also Jewish I can’t remember his name tho
Blp Kosher I think his name is
