Historically, infantry was always the core of all great armies. Cavalry was used on flanks to do its thing with mobility, but without infantry and archers it wouldn't be possible. I like all the changes they can do to make infantry viable, hell, even make siege towers cheaper so we see more of them to protect our sword boys.
The romans called persian heavy infantry a "rabble". Gone were the days of the immortals. And the gang pressed conquered civilian meat shields the mongols used as makeshift infantry could hardly be called "core units". So that leaves us with the medieval romans, islamic caliphate and chinese as "great armies" that relied on an infantry core. But even then, heavy cavalry was the combat arm of decision. Only those who didn't have access to sufficient war horses relied to heavy infantry.
Infantry of course were a necessity historically but for much of the middle ages a bit of an afterthought. Especially since the main target of the coming buffs is the swordsman line, when most infantry were with polearms, and pikes are already a core unit that is very important in many situations across many civs and many army compositions. Infantry become more important late game and that makes sense from a historical perspective as the late middle ages is when infantry come into their own again as a fighting force.
In medieval army infantry meant nothing really historically...It was all about the knights and heavy cavalry. Or at least, and army of pure infantry and archers would just flee in front of heavy trained and armored knights. And cavalry was used not only on flanks but as a main force in the front to clash with opponents knights. This changed very late, closer to 15th century
M0re was... quiiiiite bad there during the push. I think he might've had the weird impression that he should hold his trash army back and just let Viper's expensive siege die instead. I just cannot understand his thought process where he let Bombard Cannons kill Viper's scorpion mass instead of just sending his trash army forward to kill the cannons, especially when Viper's scorpions were shredding everything else. You could argue that purple being bad is the reason why you couldn't obliterate that side and go help Tatoh earlier.
more shudve thrown cavalry down their base to disrupt eco and push faster, he was just chillin with trash units like really? even samurai spam wouldve been better

Historically and militarily 100% correct, mate! 👍
Serious RANGE only became possible centuries after the setting for AoE2.

Him talking about Vipers pond at the end probably puts him on bipers blacklist for a while, salty guy who didn't play for the team.
Did you really have to write an entire essay about him? It’s just a game😂
@@andrewgus8763 its probably not that deep from Banaa Slamma's part
More was so passive with that lake and eco he should be way more aggressive
M0re would have helped with the push but they were luring and forgot.
wonder what p6 did with all the gold the had... he didn't even sling.
9:45 Mill calculus.
Dude, P6 throw the game so bad. Why skirms, just spawn halbs, and make towers and trebs. Also he didnt jump (push) his army in a lot of cases
Yeah , just open arb+treb, later halbs +sling his flank. Poor play by purple.
Viper is holding 2v1 and then pushing with no eco behind, not even producing villagers : D
7:26 what is this on your hand
Viper wears a wrist brace to help with wrist issues. :)
Why only play rage forest? Is it only for this one tournament?
yes. I also assume hes bored of a lifetime of 1v1
Did Viper and Tatoh decide to lose this game because it's April 1st?
32:28 scary
purple the biggest griefer lmao.
But, yes, fun game indeed, Viper.

4v4 feels boring that 3v3, it's just feels like two 2v2s
More intentionally throwing, maybe ban him?
Or even better, throw him in prison and give him two life sentences over a bad BF game!
Based
What's throwing?
LOL its Real, Thanks for Proof Viper !!!! U are the Best, Greetings from me.

no april fools?
I’m surprised eco was so bad. Do you play 200 pop? Bf should always maximize pop. Largest armies win.
