Those side-fin suits seem a lot safer than a wingsuit since they don't restrict the jumper's arm movement. Maybe a bit lower L/D, but much less chance of getting killed by your equipment.
Way back in 1980-84 I did some tracking dives from jump planes, screaming along at around 200 MPH. God what a blast that was.

They're called one-piece tracking suits. There's been quite a few fatal accidents with wingsuiters failing to pull their pilot chute, slipping on exit, head low exits, cliff strikes and bad landings due to line twists where they spend crucial time getting the arms free. These are all problems that are easier to deal with in a one-piece. It is when trackers start jumping "wingsuit only" exits with low rock drop and more technical terrain it starts to get gnarly.
Respect to you my man, Im with the youtube generation and wasn't even thought of when you were shredding :-)

@@Jesperingstad Thanks for the explanation, and kudos to whoever invented them. Friday Freakouts has waaaaay too many scary wingsuit clips, and "batsuits" were banned from the 60s to the 90s. Great to see you having so damn much fun!
