This Battle between SU and Jackson state Is what boom box should have been! But thanks to the great State of Alabama, they messed up the schedule, but I digress. I'm rocking with Jackson state on this one. And the tubas brought me to tears.
@G-Rated No...I meant SU! At the The great state of Alabama argued and wanted to get the boombox classic held in Alabama at the time, but Alabama did not hold up its end to provide everything that was needed for the classic to kick off there. So therefore they had to hurt me and send it back to Jackson WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT!
JSU on a roll this year! Like KBbandHead said… they beat SU, AAMU and now ASU. definitely smacked 🫡💨. W all day… but kuddos to ASU for awesome improvements. They sound good.
Kudos to the Boom for their improvements on their non existent trumpets making an appearance this year, but they aren’t on the level of ASU’s style and finesse. I’m keep reminding y’all of how delusional the Boom fanboys truly are.
@@dj_dwats Lol. So I’m not allowed to have _my_ opinion? I have to change my opinion to mirror yours? Because Bama State went to Veteran’s Memorial and handled business from the first song in the zero to the last song in the 5th. We’re gonna have to agree to disagree. JSU has to come better than a loud intro and a high tuba note to get ‘W’ in a 5th. I was not that impressed by “Crave” at all, actually pretty basic arrangement imo. But that “I’m Your Baby Tonight”, “Morning After”, “Ultra Instinct”, and of course the Erykah Badu just sealed the deal for me. Jsu couldn’t put them folks fire out. Until next year, they can try again!! 😎
@@terrorblossom4829 Trumpets were the intro to “On & On” so “nonexistent trumpets” means you wouldn’t have heard the intro. You could hear their upper brass all game. Y’all will say ANYTHING despite the footage saying something completely different. 🤷🏽♂️ 🤡
ASU definitely was digging in jsu ass that whole game .. ion know what jsu pack y’all smoking but y’all high off it .. that on and on was unmatched … and so was they first song by lil boosie in zero quarter
@@TAVEIONFLETCHER Yep. Jackson State fans are the most delusional & biggest haters to actually claim “On & On” was “mid” and then try to praise that elementary arrangement of Crave because of a high tuba note. They’re *hurt* and have surpassed delusional, you can tell they thought their sousaphones & trombones were superior to TAF but they aren’t. Every single section executed “On & On” perfectly yet they claim it was “just trombones”. Jsu fans will down play anyone’s ability and performance just to uplift their fav band. Weirdest fan group ever.
Delusional… the Erykah Badu was the ONLY good arrangement with good execution during the entire 5th and after the intro it was mid the trombones carried the whole song😂 Jackson’s response was just as groovy and way more power.
@@KvngKB21 delusional is anyone saying Alabama State only had one good arrangement. I’m only pointing out the Erykah Badu because it was the best thing played the entire fifth lol

This man said ASU don’t have no dynamics in their music. Smh. Do he know what dynamics are? See these the type of niggas giving reviews and scoring 5-0 sweeps in favor of Jsu which is why I don’t even care what everybody on here has to say about any band battle because not everyone on here posting videos knows what they’re actually talking about. Niggas like this are more impressed with Jsu playing as loud as possible and tubas hitting high notes as loud as possible in a otherwise struggling arrangement. They’ll give you the ‘W’ for that. 😂 I’ll say it again, the pen game was so strong on that Erykah Badu that if Jsu played it they would’ve called the battle just based off of it.
To be fair JSU has plenty of dynamics in their songs. And none of their songs were just loud for the sake of being loud. They played that during the zero quarter. You can’t claim to know music and say this though
@@daprofessakid sir please go cry about it elsewhere. You can’t claim there’s no dynamics in any of Bama State’s arrangements and then claim to know music either. But _that_ comment didn’t bother you at all, correct? You’re here to fight for JSU’s life. 😂
Jackson State 🔥 These people were the best HBCU band in 2023 Hands down No comparison.
