The beginning did the reconstruction of the 10th planets 4th episode rather well (end of Hartnells run and the first ever regeneration - which they showed at the end of the special!)
Capaldi was my first Doctor I watched in full. _I still miss him so much...._
Capaldi gave the best regeneration speech, I think. I'll admit I was hoping for some reactions to the Christmas Truce, but these were good.

Is it just me, or was Twice Upon A Time an end of an era for Doctor Who? Steven Moffat closed this era which was rebooted by Russell T Davies in 2005 and carried on by Steven Moffat who ended it on December 25th 2017 with this Christmas Special. Sadly the Doctor Who era that has followed has been appalling.
Could not agree more. Watching this again now in 2022 just hammers home how badly Chibnall botched his mandate. I always preferred Moffat's era to RTD's, so I'm one of the probably very small minority who isn't fully excited by what's coming next in 2023...

This was an excellent episode, though slightly spoiled by Capaldi's hammy monologue at the end there. They should have trimmed that down a bit
